new hulk buster in 2023 only cost $50 ? (like i live in uk myself) but i assumed it would cost more just looking at images revealed, this make it even more tempting pick up...
I don't get how the smaller unreleased one is somehow more detailed when it's so small it can't even include a lot of the details the big one has that doesn't make any sense at all and i also don't get why or how the $550 dollar one doesn't have as much unique building techniques like what you just cram a bunch of random unnecessary words into your comment just because the smaller new one has the correct proportions and the big $550 dollar one doesn't and also has massive gaps in the sides of the torso
for me when it comes to mechs i like good leg & arm movements, but yeah new 2023 iron man mech does look interesting (as dont care for figures but mech looks nice).
It's so goofy how the 2022 version shows the Hulkbuster from the movie on the back, and the chest shape is COMPLETELY different between the movie and the set...
I really wanted the $550 one to be good. While it does match the CGI model from the movie more than than the $120 one, the $550 does a lot of things that I don’t really like. I’d rather spend the $550 on the retired Hulkbuster and something else
Well that's a shame I love the hulk buster and was hoping this would be a really cool and detailed model while having a fun experience putting it together as well.
They’re going about this whole “adult LEGO fan” eighteen plus, thing wrong. I’m 36 years old and I would be way more hyped to get the 2018 set than I would be the 2022 set. If there’s a super cool playset that looks good, I’m going to buy it. I don’t care what the age recommendations are. I feel like they use the 18 plus designation as an excuse to jack the price up. The problem is they aren’t also jacking up the quality.
Honestly the main thing the 550 one does wrong for me is that the torso is to long. It makes it look really wonky. I'll probably get it eventually because I have ever other brick built iron man suit, but it won't be as amazing as I hoped
After spending a few k this year on Lego, I found my 3 favorite official sets are all under 100 bucks. Design wise the big sets, with a few exceptions like the titanic, seem mostly a big compromise to still keep the price "kinda" affordable at the scale and this really hurts the final product. They dont make full use of the Lego system how they could and the flimsey end result often leaves me unsatisfied or make me regret I bought it because stuff is falling off whenever I point at it or the big gaps I just cant unsee and try to close every time I walk by it. It just doesn't feel like a Lego set to me. I understand if they would design it as it should be at this scale the price would be even more insane. But still. Do it good or don't do it at all.
Drop everything the $550 hulk buster is the greatest set ever no questions asked solely because it gives a REPLACEMENT sticker sheet! I really hope Lego will make that a standard even though it’s not very likely.
Why does one plaque say 11 feet tall and the other is 24 feet? And for the large model (24 feet) the Iron Man figure is a little under half the height, making the figure like 10 feet tall
If Lego wanted to make 550$ Hulkbuster statue, he should be done like Titanic or Eiffel Tower, focusing on making him as movie accurate as possible, without intention for any play feature, don't even thinking about making space for smaller Iron Man (but if they wanted this so much... they could make space just for upper half of small Iron Man figure as... its lego, so you can just take out his legs, so this way he takes less space, so Hulkbuster torso doesn't need to be soooo long). As high price would not be such pain if we get for that excellent looking replica of movie Hulkbuster. I just wait for someone to make MOC version using just parts from this set, MOC that will be good looking huge Hulkbuster, as with such big scale, and so many pieces, it should be possible.
And I thought it just sucked because of the price per brick. Thanks for all the details. Maybe they make a giant sized Hulk next year. Definitely voting with my wallet and not getting this one. I'll get Bowser instead. Much better design there.
I feel like it would have been cool to put a full interior into the 500 dollar one that is minifig scale. Like iorn man created a giant pacific rim mecha to fight villains with. Like you could have enough room to fit like 7 mini figs in the cockpit. And it would have a floor, beds, a small table, and like three piloting chairs.
The 2022 Hulkbuster being the same price as the Colosseum, even though it doesn’t have half the amount of pieces, and looks 10 times worse than the Colosseum is ridiculous
I really think Marvel needs to take a break from Iron Man and maybe do some more comic Marvel sets, not so much from the MCU. There are plenty of other characters they can do sets for. I am not impressed by the $550 set. Could have been done much better.
The $550 Hulkbuster is pretty much equivalent to the UCS Assault on Hoth set, but worse. Not only that, but it’s funny that LEGO pulled a clone command by now releasing a cheaper better alternative version of the Hulkbuster for $50 dollars which makes the $550 even more pointless to get.
I'm mad this got cleared for retail while last years Christmas Mr & Mrs Claus GWP got cancelled because "it did not meet our strict quality standards. Since we work so hard to provide the best play experience, we never compromise our quality of our products." 🤣
The feature where you can fit the brick built Iron Man figure inside the Hulkbuster isn't what resulted in it being inaccurate and ugly, it was just sheer incompetence. The torso is a frame with big chunks on top of it, there was plenty of space to make those chunks actually accurate. And Jangbricks was able to fit the figure inside just fine, you just have to actually have it standing straight first with the arms up against it's body. Also, I don't think that back "hatch" was actually supposed to be a hatch. It's just a clever use of an oddly shaped piece to make up an oddly shaped section. They don't intend you to be opening and closing it as if it's a play feature.
Ryan, now that Lego’s website has the Hulkbuster at 30% off is it still a good buy. The set looks massive but pieces kept falling off-lol Do you see this set going into the $700 range once retired?
I will say I do like how some of the parts of the 500 dollar set looks. The legs look pretty cool but as far as the whole set is concerned not so much..
I agree with the $500 one not being great. But those pieces kept falling off because it’s NOT meant to be picked up or stretched in ways that you did. You build it, place it down for display and rarely touch many of those things. Notice that NOTHING fell off the arms when you moved them? That’s because they are MEANT to be posed and be messed with. NOT all the other parts you touched which are fragile for display and looks. Also, when putting in the Iron man action figure, pose it right before putting it in and it’ll go way smoother. Don’t just make something look bad because you hate it. Though I agree with the thing itself not looking accurate and buying the other one over the expensive one. Sorry for my commentary, I’m still a big fan and love ur vids. Was just a little frustrated.
The $100 version is better in every way other than piece count, which it doesn't need. Jesus, what were they thinking? I guess the Gold is better too, but that doesn't come close to the advantages of the $100 model.
