Gold certificates up to and including 1928 said "redeemable in gold coin" but 1934 only said "redeemable in gold" the word coin was REMOVED from them. My $5000 has Madison, $10,000 has Chase, and $100,000 (1934) has Woodrow Wilson on front. Both 5 & 10K are bare on right side like yours but 100K in large numerals on right. Very nice presentation, Thank you.
I wish the USA government will develop & publish the $500 & $1000 dollar bills so it can help us to work on our budget development to get anything what we want as much & quick as possible💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵
I remember seeing one as a kid. My dad's friend was showing it around at a family party. Since I never saw another in my 46 years, I just figured it was fake or play money. Now I know they do exist. Super cool. Thanks again for another great video, Christian! 👍
We don’t have them anymore and it has nothing to do with electronic transfers... They stopped printing them in 1934, over ten years before the end of WW2 and before modern computers even existed. The reason was because having larger denominations made money laundering and tax evasion more rampant. The IRS didn’t like the idea that you could fit millions in a single briefcase so they made sure to not make more bills over $100. The only reason they even printed the ones in 1934 was due to the 1933 gold ban and buyback program which caused a cash shortage to buy the gold back from people
Great study. Really enjoyed the lesson and history on a rare bill. Many might be interested in knowing about the $50,000 and $100,000 notes printed by the mint also.
I have 2 1000 and 1 500. I watched your video as I also got a ton of silver coins. I just want to bring this stuff somewhere and see what I can get for it. Please advise
6:05 that's no "dollar symbol". It used to be the Peso symbol back in the day, way before the dollar, and has first appeared on the Mexican Peso. The Uhmaricuns only copied it.
An interesting thing to note is that though the 500 and 1000 bills were withdrawn in the 40s and 30s respectively, they survived for a long time in pop culture partially because of the original version of the game show Let's Make A Deal- the host Monty Hall had about 10 of each bill that he would pull out for prizes on camera, though the contestants never got to keep those bills.
Great Note.... i recently bought a 500.00 note at a coin show last month, he also had a 1000.00 note and wanted 3900.00 for it and that was out of my range, was happy to pull the trigger on the 500.00 note, but wasnt cheap. lol
i have also dot one sir...i have also 10000 dollar bill 1934A..Blue sale...and also 5000 dollar bill..how can i sell dot one..im from philippines..nice info and vdeo
That’s a cool bill/note! That’s currently out of my area of focus and I can’t afford atm to have that much money tied up into a single collection piece. I’m currently focusing on putting together a “Large World Silver Coin Collection”. I’m trying to collect the two biggest silver coins made for circulation from every country. Not necessarily from every government though.. that could make this take a lifetime lol.
If you really wanted to. However, they might not have change for it, and you would be basically throwing away the collector value that is above and beyond the $1000 if it was accepted.
Very Cool! Just recently I was offered one by my LCS whom I have a nice relationship with... He offered it to me at a discount... I don't have $3000... But he let me hold it, he said I can now say I have held a $1000 note!
May be worth mentioning that the high denomination bills $500 and above were taken out of circulation by executive order in 1969. And the 1934 series may have been the last series year but those were printed through 1945. Nice presentation.
In Canada, the final series of $1000 bills was the 1986 series, with most being dated 1988 (Unfortunately, this was during the height of the cocaine boom). They were finally taken out of circulation in the year 2000. I've heard it said that the RCMP absolutely _hated_ the darned things.
Nice! I’ve seen yours on you’re channel and its awesome! I’d like to get one but they have been going up in price. What grade do you recommend getting?
My advice to everyone is to invest in cryptocurrencies especially Bitcoin as it may rise higher than this very soon and you will wish you didn't miss this opportunity
As a Bitcoin investor and trader, its almost inevitable that you're going to experience ups and downs along the way but that shouldn't scare you off from investing
Oh yes... lost money too when was new in the forex market but only $2000 worth of Bitcoin then I had to find myself am account manager ( Expect Trust .S. Noble)
