I think maybe the 5k if you have the heavy model bro. Bit more suited towards pe2 i think with the deeper spool. Otherwise a 4k can still fit EXACTLY 300m of pe2 if spooled up correctly. In that case it will be up to you. Remember with the 5k you do get the ball handle too rather than the T handle

Thanks for the advice. I think I have the wrong rod. I realised how heavy it was and if I did want a reel with it probably best I go with a 6000 minimum. Congrats again on the reel she’s a beauty

I have the vanquish as well and it’s honestly an amazing reel. It totally depends on what fishing you are doing. Vanquish and luvias airity are perfect for finesse fishing applications where you need to feel absolutely everything that is going on and you barely want any weight in your setup. Stella is more of a heavier duty inshore reel. Very hard to compare the 2. I use this stella for fish around 1kg-8kg and my vanquish is used for fish all under 1kg. Stella does have all the latest and greatest technologies available currently hence the heftier price tag.

I do think it is worth it for my style of fishing. I also looovvee beautiful reels and this thing fits that category for me

haven't held onto a reel long enough to get it serviced tbh. most of the small 1 man servicing joints out there shouldn't have an issue servicing them (as long as they aren't old farts who think they know new reels but have only serviced a spin fisher in their time). the parts are usually readily available from Shimano Aus or third party websites like hedgehog studio and plat.co. as for getting a warranty service through Shimano themselves I don't think a warranty service will be honoured but they shouldn't decline a normal payed for service. I may have screwed my self over with the 3000mhg size here since it is a 4000 size reel with a 2500 rotor and the parts for that particular model aren't exactly in australia and I have no idea what Shimano do in those regards. but who knows hahaha worse they can say is no

@@kookfishin thanks man :) yeah have definitely heard that shimano and daiwa australia are pretty poopy with that kind of stuff but reel services australia might be the place to go (guy in Perth but need to post the reel to him). im super precious with my gear so i usually go to compleat angler nedlands so i dont have to post the reel. sort of answering my own question here hah but yeah if you needed to service your stella one of those 2 would probably be the go.

The Stella has all the best technology. It will outlast the twinpower. The only thing the twinpower has going for it is if you hook a behemoth you’ll have more line capacity. My 2014 stella is still going strong and is smoother than my 1 yr old ci4+

I had that same feeling straight out of the box and i can 100% understand your concern. When i use my reel fishing i cannot notice it at all and it is absolutely buttery smooth, only in a very silent room i notice that sound and can pick up on certain feelings while winding

@@babysquidslayer5410 yeah its quite audible in the beginning ill have to admit tho. Ive noticed it with alot of my reels tho in silent places. Also shimanos tend to age like fine wine in my opinion so it should only get better. Otherwise if it bothers you too much get a shimano rep or a proper reel service agent to give it a geez for peace if mind. I can fully understand the feeling you have ahaha i treat my reels like children its crazy

I just found a stella 4000FA 19 year old reel still going strong but it also has the slight scraping sound when the bail drops down but there are no rub lines that I can see and it reels like butter

The twinpowers are excellent reels. I currently own 3 and used to own 5. Cannot fault them at all and would be more than happy to fish just them :)

Nah no backing. This model has the M spool (medium) so it fit exactly 200m of pe1

And do I need to order a separate set of bearings? I thought it came with the knob no?

Hey bro, no you shouldn’t need spare bearings, the ones that come with the reel are perfectly fine. So when installing the knob it’s important to make sure you shim it correctly. The order im pretty sure i had mine in was the thinnest shim, slightly thicker shim, bearing, knob, bronze shim (that comes standard on all shimano reels) and then bearing. Make sure the bearings are seated correctly in the knob and if there is still wobble or it is too tight and wont free spin add another or take away a shim accordingly

You do not need it perfectly shim, a slight pull push wobble is completely fine but i hate that and always aim to shim mine absolutely perfectly to the point where i will sand down a shim

Hey bud, i am well aware of that. But you would be talking about the c3000 which shares the same body as the 2500 as the “c” stands for compact. The standard 3000 has the same body as the 4000 and has the rotor from the 2500. And i have the standard 3000, not the c3000
