When we hit our first goal of $500/mo I will do 1 weekly live stream for 30 minutes to cover a business topic in depth, and answer your questions live!
About 4 years ago I started a janitorial business so that I could follow my dream of becoming an entrepreneur. Slowly my skills improved and I was able to take on specialized jobs and these days I enjoy deep cleaning restaurants and doing floor care. I took me a long time to strip and wax floors but the results were worth the investment. As in all of my videos, I show you how to run a business and I take you to a job-site where I show you how I clean kitchens and make extra money and how to be an entrepreneur. For this customer we start off high dusting, move onto window washing, then finally I finish the job off by cleaning and sealing concrete floors. I hope you enjoy learning how to clean a restaurant with me.

I love this kind of stuff that scratches the clutter cleaner itch. (Restaurant Impossible, Hoarders type shows). It would probably be worth it to hire a dedicated camera person (for a single job) to get nitty-gritty-greasy footage for your ad reel. Could see this channel blowing up, or at least getting you lots of business!

So at what point do you ease back and let your skilled workers handle the deep cleaning stuff and you handle just the management, inspection and customer relation aspect? It's great now while you are young but are you duplicating yourself enough to handle this transition? The toughest part of these types of businesses is retaining reliable, teachable, dependable and independent workers to handle the day to day chores.
@FreelanceJanitor
@FreelanceJanitor 5 лет назад
Gavin Scott I don’t know how I’m going to handle it actually. It’s very hard to keep a consistent schedule with these deep clean jobs. It’s difficult to line up work 5 days per week, starting at the same time and ending at the same time. So I haven’t figured it out yet, but I’m working on it everyday. Hopefully this year I can get these systems in place because it’s getting increasingly difficult to keep up with the demand with the small team I have now

@@FreelanceJanitor Yes, good luck, bro. I have a commercial cleaning business and it's small operation also and I have a few bars, few restaurants and also offices and medical clinics, etc. The employee challenge is real and it's the toughest part of the job but make sure you come up with written processes and always, always check on your employees. Doesn't matter if they are the most trustworthy of individuals. Things always go haywire at the wrong times. Good luck and stay in touch.

Hi Gavin. I love what you are doing and would like to learn more. I 'm a big fan of your knowledge and would love some advice. I am interested in starting a solo residential cleaning business. Although you are in the commercial cleaning business which type of demand for cleaners are needed more for solo cleaners residential or commercial? Thank you Gavin!
@gavinscott10
@gavinscott10 5 лет назад
@@Zara_Luna It depends on what you want. Either can be quite successful for you. The key is to make sure you have a solid business plan in place before you get started. Establishing networks, contacts and leads are a must. Finding workers can be done through places like Ziprecruiter, Indeed or even Craigslist (be careful of quality). Ensure you spend a certain amount of time every month marketing your business. Good luck.
@Zara_Luna
@Zara_Luna 5 лет назад
Thank you Gavin for replying to me quickly. I can not agree more about having a solid business plan before starting. I had to learn that there is value in planning before executing. I have three questions to ask you, I am working building an automation system and would love to know 1) what types of software are you using in your cleaning services to help increase customer responsiveness. 2)What type of questions did you ask to help set customers expectations? 3_) for residential cleaning what type of pricing model did you use? Thank you Gavin!

Great video! Do you notice a difference between house brand wax and higher quality (like Johnson Diversey)? Curious what you think
@FreelanceJanitor
@FreelanceJanitor 5 лет назад
Honestly, I’ve always used commercial floor wax so I don’t have an opinion. I know that if you use something like zepp from Home Depot, your customers might notice and get irritated that you arnt using professional products. That has happened to me before, not with wax but with other cleaning products. Also, different products have different amounts of “solids” in them, that will tell you what the traits of the wax will be when dry.

Samurai Sal hey, I just found this comment and realized that I never replied. So if your still around, Hello! I’ll make a video about window washing tips soon. I would say, it’s important to use surgical towels because they don’t leave lint, and always buff the window until it is dry, that will eliminate streaks.

@FreelanceJanitor
@FreelanceJanitor 5 лет назад
Yeah, it sounds crazy but if you have a rare skill that is needed you can ask for any price you want. Some people will not respond to your bid, but some people will. When working with businesses $1000 is actually not much money at all and other business owners will pay for quality if they need what you have.

@FreelanceJanitor

Stephen Strange you are right, I don’t make $30k per month from any one person. But it is possible to provide $1k worth of value to 1 person in 1 day and you can repeat that over and over again. $1k per night is actually a very small amount of money in business. Watch some more of my content with an open mind. Think bigger for yourself my man.
