In this episode I make the purchase and race on the bike I just bought for $1000. It was a hectic weekend! To support these videos and gain access to loads of unreleased content join me on Patreon. patreon.com/briancahal
RU-vid randomly suggested this content for me, I usually watch gravel content. I'm not brave enough for downhill but will subscribe and watch more of your natural content.
Massive fan of this two parter! Really goes to show how we don't all necessarily need the newest kit to have a great time on a bike. I'd love to see more of this type of second hand bike content.
As someone coming back to the sport with too many years behind me and too few money to get a really good bike, I absolutely loved this video. So positive and somehow... heartwarming. This is what it's all about, isn't it? Having fun, doing a good run, getting the best out of the bike you've got.
Yo Brian that's the best way to leave a race. I hope you can feel that way anytime you race because it sucks feeling bummed. Totally makes sense with being competitive and working on improving but I'd imagine the best feeling is leaving the way you felt. That's how I aspire to race nowadays.
they told him the fork was just rebuilt - it leaked, the rim "wouldn't hold tubeless" - it was cracked, that they put on "new magura brakes" - the pads were fried. I paid $1500 for a 2019 carbon comp stumpjumper a few months ago and only changed touchpoint items to fit my preference. Edit: I thought about it and I don't wanna rag on the sellers too much, these things may have been disclosed and just not made it in the video and they may have just not known, buying a bike on a time crunch sorta means you gotta settle for what ya can get.
I`d try some JB Weld stuff for that rim , the stuff suitable for carbon fibre . I`ve used it on a frame before and it turned out to be stronger than the frame .
Will you be following up on that girls bike and how you help pimp it 😂 I’d love to see it. She clearly got that passion for the sport. Deserves some upgrades for sure
Got an original Mojo, mine was a demonstrator in the Pond Scum colour, great climber, though nowadays I'm more likely to ride a 29er as I'm just ridiculously faster on one.
