Hey Shawn Woods ... Very Very interesting video. I have a Jillson and it has both teeth in it. Lord... these things are sharp 😲 😱. I've not put it on the market yet. It is 6 and 3/4 in length from top of device to bottom and the ring diameter is 2 inches. I can't imagine watching a mouse get caught in this. Would be an absolute bloodbath!
When are you going to do a taste test video on the best bait? The best mousetrap in the world is useless without bait. Everyone assumes peanut butter is best but the only way to find out is test em. Ill even send you some cashew butter and sunflower butter to test. Almond butter too. Beechnut butter. Brazil nut butter. Bush nut butter. Butternut butter. Chestnut butter. Filbert butter. Ginko nut butter. Hazelnut butter. Hickory nut butter. Macadamia nut butter. Pecan butter. Pine nut butter. Pistachio butter. Walnut butter.
I got a matching cup and saucer from the 1880's for 90 US cents total in a charity thrift shop. It's true, people donate grandma's "junk" to thrift stores without knowing their true value.
So I"m not so much a kid kinda person, but little Clementine (that's her name, right?) has cuteness at a whole new level. I love it when your kids are in your vids, Shawn.
Thanks for watching. Let me know what trap on this list is your favorite. There are many more rare traps I could add to this list. You can see many of them on Rick's Website: rickcicciarelli.com/traps.html
The Jillson looks like a mean trap, have you ever seen something like it that can be used like a mole trap for tunnels? Id kill for a repeating trap of that design that could be placed near sewer discharge tunnels. Portlands population of Norways is insane, and people are blind to their excavation!
Look at 1970s and 1980s boys toys, they are going up in value now and I view in my head as the junk toys from my youth. It's the disposable items that always end up as a valuable collectable. It's never the stuff that were cherished (like guns and sewing machines as good examples) as cherished items were all taken care of and passed on. Now there's exceptions to this statement but that's generally the case. A mouse trap that was made of cheap plastic was probably so cheap when it was new that when it caught a mouse it was thrown away right along with the mouse. As for the early industrial revolution and prior items, they were scarce and expensive to begin with so of course they have value as someone paid a lot for them back in the day.
@@AtomicReverend I just threw out a bunch of toys from the 80s last week, this post gave me a heart attack. But then I remembered most of them were half broken or had parts missing.
It was your opossum videos that lured us in, but now we are watching ALL your videos. We haven't any mice but you (and your family) are so warm and genuine, and have such a great respect for other creatures, we are hooked. Most of all, we enjoy the wildlife feeding at the end. Thanks for continuing to share your knowledge.
What a precious little helper you have!!! I hope you two have fun making videos together. I used to do all kinds of weird hobby stuff with my dad when I was little and I look back on them so fondly.
your daughter is adorable! 😍 love to see your co-host again! and WOW! those prices... I had no clue that traps could be worth that much. I will pay more attantion at flea markets from now on... thanks for the great video!
i'm glad i found this channel by chance on day. I had no idea that mouse / rat traps had such a rich history. Glad you have an odd passion. I will watch these videos no matter the length. Stay well Shawn.
Wow! You got another 2 of the 'got-cha' collection! I remember when you release the video of this mousetrap, and a mouse chewed a little bit of the trap xD
Shawn is starting early on getting the second generation to run Mouse Trap Monday. Little Clementine is taking to co-hosting the show like a duck to water. Loving it!
Hi MTM, I'm just an online drunkard, but between watching conspiracy theories and video game speedruns, you've captured my attention and you and your family captured my heart. I wish you and yours well! I love MTM!!
Well, I've watched enough episodes of "American Pickers" to know that when it comes to collecting, certain people will value items quite high, compared to, say, the typical public citizen. You have a pretty decent collection yourself. Enjoyed seeing the traps, and your daughter was a "kute kicker". Cheers.
That's because certain items are only really collectible within certain niche markets. After all, a person that specializes in collecting American coins may not be interested in coins from other countries. And a person that collects video games may not be particularly interested in collecting rare books and so on.
Nice video 👍🏼 It's very interesting seeing all those antique traps and I look forward to a video on making that reproduction trap you mentioned 😄 and your daughter is so adorable
I really like the Royal. I saw half of one at a motorcycle swap meet and wondered if it were part of a trap. Question answered. Your assistant is a nice addition. I hope she calls the play by play in the future. She's a natural.
Honestly, I never thought I would be interested in seeing people use mousetraps, but this channel... There's something so... just entertaining about seeing someone get straight to the point. Not like other people who do stupidly long intros and vent about their lives and gives up a tour around their house for like 30 min then they actually get to what they made the video for. This channel is just so relaxing. I like to watch them when I'm stressed.
Wow, babygirl is getting so big. He's such an awesome dad. His kids are going to be outdoor experts before they're even adults I bet. They'll know how to survive outside and everything.
There is a concern I have, and was wondering if this has happened to any other subscribers. I had been a long time subscriber, and always had kept up on your videos every week. A while ago, RU-vid stopped notifying me of uploads and stopped showing your content on my homepage. I thought for the longest time that your channel got taken down until I looked it up again in the past few days. As it turned out, RU-vid had unsubscribed me from your channel without my knowledge and stopped even suggesting videos to me. I'm very disappointed in RU-vid for doing this, but I'm very happy to see your channel is still around. Thank you for the great content and entertainment during this crazy pandemic, too.
#10 kitty gotcha trap looks like something a 3D scanner and printer could make easily. You could even print it in any color you could find filament in, even hot pink!
Nice video man its awesome the dedication you have in explaining each of the mouse traps you feature and how you give a brief but complete history of each one keep doing this and I wish you good luck
Who would've known that there are so many varieties of mousetraps?! I thought that the only mousetraps are the ones in Tom and Jerry! Well, my curiosity towards that kind of mousetrap is what took me to this channel.
Please make a playlist of vintage traps, modern traps, non deadly traps etc. Thank, never know I'd find mouse traps so interesting. Did even know it was a thing
I love your videos and all of the different mouse traps and how they work it just so satisfying to see live catch traps work because they’re so clever and safe and I watch all of your videos 😄
SHAWN! I caught a mouse with a homemade trap! I would never have thought to make a homemade trap if it wasn't for you and I wanted to let you know that you helped save this little guys life.
Added to the collection - but not used to trap mice - is the Adorable Daughter Trap. People who love kids are drawn to the video, where they are trapped, & learn something new about catching rodents. Very effective & priceless :)
The YT algorithm values frequent consistent uploads over a lot of other criteria. Your views have gone up that much because YT is sending them out to more people on a regular basis. Also, you should access the portion of your analytics that shows how many of your views come from subscribers. If it's low, try showing a screenshot of that specific portion of your analytics at the start of each video and encourage viewers to subscribe if they aren't already and if they want all your videos to click the bell to get all notifications. Just make it quick and non-intrusive and you'll convert YT cold calls to subscribers.
She's a treasure! Are we going to see any Mouse Trap Junior or Mouse Trap Princess videos soon? Maybe a mouse care, feeding and all your pet varieties. Any House for Mouse construction plans like the teacher up in the Yukon makes for her little family of mice (sorry, senior moment, I can't remember her channel - something 'Critter', Valley' and/or 'Creek'?) She has these metallic gold mice - mother and son, but the son is absolutely 'gold plated'. I've never seen a rodent with such a colour before!
Shawn Woods, keep obtaining the traps of all kinds! Judging by what you already have, you might be able to break a world record; person who owns the most mousetraps! Joe
I’m looking forward to seeing the remake of any of these traps!! & PS- Is she a Little Ginger? What a little doll face! Your boys are your clones. But it seems this young lady may be a mix between you and her mom..(🤷🏼♀️) I just never noticed her hair color & of course, being a ginger myself, I approve! ☺️
Congratulations on the views increase!!! I watch all your videos and although I enjoy 2 videos a week instead of one, would love to see the Q&A section included at least in a weekly basis. Your daughter is adorable!
