There’s something that you may be missing with the difference in wHp for these two bikes, weight. A bike that’s noticeably lighter and slightly lower Hp can beat a bike with more power. Power-to-weight is an often forgotten ratio.
We built two S1000RRs with less than $10K engines and one put down 224 WHP at 1,000cc and the other(1140cc) made 248 WHP after a few years of development.
Don’t forget the wsbk v4r is rev limited Got a family member who was a mechanic for a bsb rider ….wont mention his name ….but he said it’s about 250hp but rev limits put it closer to 240hp
The V4R ate the SL’s ass everywhere except for where you’re at only when you’re racing. I’d much rather have the beefy mid and a little less up top any day of the week.
All these years i thought v4superleg has the same engine as the first v4r, but man......superleg engine revving just over 17K RPM 💀(that's almost MotoGP territory)
They leave the rearsets alone to save weight.....I know multiple people that have fully custom SL's and they always leave rearsets alone, they weigh nothing compared to flashy aftermarket whatever brand.....the Superleggera, means superlite.....all about weight savings baby. as it should be. Even though the V4R is making more power throughout the line, the SL is WAY lighter, Its not all about numbers. SL would win IMO.
If I had one of that SL it would only be Displayed at home. Too beautiful and a masterpiece to be ridden. The first SL too, the orangy red one. Happy to ride the regular v4r. 😂
The V4r will pull ahead initially at the hit, but. after that, it's bye bye V4r.. In a race, they will be sitting at the peak revs on every shift. The SL should win. On a track, the V4r mid range would show an advantage
i like these videos where you explain a little more and show a little more about dyno runs and etc. hope you can make a video with mt-10 generation 2 with decat.
$100k on a single bike is nuts.. gorgeous bike, but a vastly different price bracket to my bikes! My bikes total value could buy 2 Superleggera swingarms 😂
mate the the sl weight is 152.2kg with race spec and the weight of the pnigale v4r is 172kg and that means that the sl has a much better power to weight ratio and also some guy ones said power make go faster on the straights aero and lightness make you go faster everywhere. so the sl will be faster almost always
Lol I don’t understand why people feel the need to say this. No offense but it’s because you don’t have that kind of money. I don’t either, but It’s not difficult to imagine that if I had a couple million in the bank then I can easily see myself dropping 100k on a Superleggera.

I'm assuming that you're interested in a V4 of some kind since you're watching this vid so your stance stance should be "how much money would I need to have to be okay with spending 100k on a V4SL" because I bet if I asked you if you had 1 Billion dollars in the bank/cash would you then buy a V4SL your answer would probably be yes.

@@johnsimms3693 That makes sense. I'm a Yamaha guy too so I can respect it. I just wish Yamaha would update the R1/R1M to the level of the V4 but it seems like they're leaving the 1000CC supersport game completely. Fingers crossed that they change their minds.
It making more hp after 14k is all that matters.. if you’re shifting at redline the rpm isn’t gunna drop much below 14 shifting at 16.. and fuck what Kay did to that bike there’s probably a 30 pound difference between those two bikes.. two riders the same weight the v4r is getting gapped

i mean.. for the price of this special homologation versions.. you get a under 1000cc engine low torque compared with the regular v4 that has a 1100 plus cc engine with way more torque.. would rather have a regular S, because it is STRONGER

Ducati has always had a shitty dry clutch that’s noisy as hell. You have the proof little bit of horsepower and shit slipping with low mileage. Built by hand used to be better
So pathetic!! Elena meyers on a 600cc sport bike will smoke either of these guys on a track! Power is no good if you can’t use it!! No way any of these guys can benefit from extra hp!!
