Look how beautiful those Baseball Cards are ---works of art! I've been a MASSIVE Cubs / Baseball fan since 1976. My 3 ALL TIME FANTASIES was to own a Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb and Cy Young Baseball Card. I'm on Disability cuz I have Hemophilia and I'll never be able to afford any of those cards now. In fact, I can no longer collect ANY cards. My favorite player is Ryne Sandberg and since 1990 I've tried to collect all of his cards, but I just cannot afford it any longer. I take care of my 92 year old Mom and I wanna start collecting again to help me thru the day as it's something that I really and fully enjoy and it would be such a blessing to have that back in my life again, but I just can't.

Plus still in his prime and getting better, who knows what his future holds especially with warriors future drafts picks; I think warriors have more draft capital than 75 % of the league . That card especially being low serial numbered can someday fetch over $600k. Great trade especially because their are a ton of those vintage cards especially in low grade; high grades are scarce. The problem with getting them SUPER SUPER DUPER expensive cards is finding a person who will want to buy it/afford it. I mean with how volatile the card market has been, people dont want to spend that much because they dont want to lose most there investment. Not to mention a very small sample size of collectors could ever afford that. That is a dream card of mine but I wouldnt have traded all them cards for that. Fact is, the vintage cards are a good one to hang onto. SPECIALLY Mantles and Babe cards!

Awesome card Geoff. True rare gem of the greatest shooter of all time. Im surprised the yellow ruth and mantle were not worth more. I had that yellow ruth in a 4.5 sgc that looked like an 8 on the front. Still had the original glssy look to the finish. A guy jept a bunch of 33s in a book when he was a kid and just gappened to find them and consigned them at the local card shop. I had a great job wotking as a salesman for catsrpillar and no kids at the time. I ended up having almost an entire set of 33 goudeys and 1935 diamond stars by the time i was done

It’s actually quite the opposite with Curry. There weren’t many basketball cards produced in 2009. There are far, far more low grade Mantles and Ruths than high-end Curry cards.

@@nydibs New cards are usually over valued Vintage cards are generally Under valued go Back to 2016 if you picked up a 51 Bowmen Mantle in that shape then you could of gotten it for under $2000 now the Same card is about $12,000 if you bought a PSA 1 52 topps mantle it would of only cost you $10,000 now a PSA 1 is at least $30,000+ if you looking to resell it this year then your better of getting modern but if your putting it in a safety deposit box & selling it in 20 years like I plan on doing then Vintage is King!

Last year, a bgs 9.5/10 went for almost 170k in June, but the same card resolde for almoat 110k in December. I would say, if this was bought about seven months ago, it's not a good deal.

Always see lots of people on this page so reaching out for some help. 11 year old son who wants to get into collecting soccer cards. He does NOT have a lot of money to start but is always finding ways to make 20 bucks or 50 bucks here and there. Where does he start (brands or series)?? Should he start with packs or save for good singles? Do we buy from Amazon or can someone recommend a good online store? Google is all over the place so we are here looking for some advice.

Problem with that trade is once Curry retires and there's a new, young hot shooter, Curry cards will fade a bit and then flatten out. Not sure if I would have traded those iconic cards away for a card that's not iconic. Time will tell.....
