I've only heard it make that sound with the 3 litre engines or 1kd on the hilux, fortuna and prado. I also have a 2.5 hilux and the only time I can hear the turbo is at a certain speed and driving close to something like a wall. The turbo whistle sound on a 2kd engine is not that noticeable like the 1kd engine and the blowoff sound on the 1kd is so cool.

In the Hilux it sounds like this stock with open exhaust, in Brazil and Argentina a more aggressive turbo outlet system is usually installed so that it sounds even louder (sorry if it is not understood well but Google translation sometimes fails)

Hey bro, yea sounds phat. I didnt notice any power loss...maybe an increase in throttle response, could be playing tricks on me haha. With a muffler delete and a tune they go hard tho. Just not to sure if I want to tune mine or upgrade to the newer model. Either way, sounds sick!
