The funny thing is you didn't setup the Fanatec Wheel because you steer 90 degrees and the car is steering like 20 degrees

if you're complaining about having to take a thumb off for shifting... use the bumpers. put it on manual with an auto clutch.

Interesting video, but if you are considering a wheel and pedal set up I suggest you check out older videos from Inside Sim Racing, The Sim Pit, and Jimmy Broadbent. Once you go with a wheel properly set up there is no going back to a controller, especially if you want immersion.

$1500 for a controller that I then have to spend like an additional $300 for the console , $60 for the game , and if you want to get nit picky probably $100-$300 for the tv but most people have a TV lying around so excluding the tv cost thats STILL about $2000 after taxes. All so you can simulate driving a car. Or you could just buy a car.

The wheel hasn’t been setup properly you need to adjust settings in game aswell. Plus use first person to even that new camera angle which is like excluding the steering wheel from the camera and brings it a bit more closer upfront. Anyways honestly I don’t feel the need to spend money like that on a wheel for Forza. It would make more sense if you’re playing something like Asetto Corsa,Project Cars or maybe a codemasters F1 game. (Although I would use a controller for them aswell since I’m broke) anyways I’d like to try that attachment. Looks pretty cool but I overall feel like I’m better of using just the standard controller with no attachments lol. That thing would take a while to get used to.

The fanatec deadzone looks SO off. I have a $150 Thrustmaster TMX, and it actually is calibrated correctly.

If you have a wheel you need to change some control settings because y default it feels horrible

This is such an odd video. You use a sim racing wheel on a game made to be played with a controller. FH4 honestly doesn't do the wheel any justice in terms what it can do. You didnt even set the wheel up correctly in game. There's obviously huge dead zones when you turn the wheel. Driving in chase cam with a wheel is also difficult. Even bumper or hood would've been better. I get what you're trying to show. I just feel that the wheel was put in its worst possible scenario for it to be used

Did you check the dead zone and the force feed back, because the fanatech wheel is so much better then that please check. Oh and simulation wheel in settings and check wheel rotation put it on Maxs

2:37 the controller attachment is one of the coolest ideas I have seen as the gear system that you are talking about is actually used in cars. In the mechanic trade it’s what’s known as as a rack and pinion steering system in older vehicles it’s as basic as the mini controller version but on newer vehicles they add additional electrical and or hydraulic power steering.

You should try that with the Elite controller, i think the paddles on the bottom will make it much better

Love the video, love the idea. Showing both extremes... just a few comments, when using the wheel, drive in cockpit view, (better driving experience). And keep in mind your driving in the winter season, so the physics are tuned for snow driving, you will need to adjust for those mechanics.

This guy is using a $1500 racing wheel and getting 4th place in a Lamborghini huracan while I have a logitech G920 and getting 1st place on a road race with a '69 dodge charger R/T that has a top speed of 213 MPH NO JOKE and it is upgraded to the max so anyone that does a road race against me is done for and if you EVER think that you can win with a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck then you done already lost m8.

I use a thrustmaster tx550 and a welded together frame made at home. Wheel offers finer control and feedback but takes getting used to. A few notes, people don't buy expensive setups to drive 3rd person. Wheel and force feedback are clearly not setup properly. While Horizon is a good steering wheel game, motorsport 7 is what its meant for. Also, the game changes steering ratios, feedback and more when a steering wheel is used. A plastic wheel on a hand controller will never reflect that. Fun video though.

I like modding my controllers. I have a 360 controller with left stick higher to increase range of motion. I also have an official 360 steering wheel but I suck at using wheel so I like to set a ghost time with controller and try beat it or at least catch up to it with steering wheel. I would like to try using this little steering wheel peripheral though and see if it's better than normal joystick.

Not very cash money of you to not link the source for the controller mod or the wheel. Also didn’t setup anything right, or explain the settings for the wheel, which looks like it needs to fixed. You literally could’ve made more money but spending time explaining things. But instead you drove for like barely 3 mins.

I have the mini steering wheel and it's not bad but I'm glad that I'm content with using the gd old-fashioned controller. It would be nice to have one of those good quality steering wheels but it's not like I "got" to have one... it's really not that serious especially for 1500$ lol to get a real racing experience, just buy a real car and race for real👍

I have noticed one thing. You are experiencing a lot of problems with having to turn the wheel too far. So when this happens, just restart your console. DO NOT unplug the wheel when you do so. Start your xbox up and sign in. Go back into forza and you won't have the same problem.

Your wheel wasn't properly synced with the game. Fh4 is in need of a patch. As of now. You have to cut your controler off, plug in your wheel and THEN start the game with the wheel. In fh3 it was more fluid and you could switch back and forth to the pad when ever you want. I tried to switch to a pad the other day and it stopped recognizing the wheel. Had to start from step 1

The steering wheel is definitely not dialed. The sensitivity looks like one giant dead zone across the whole radius, which I'm imagining is not the way a $1500 piece of equipment is supposed to work. You shouldn't be allowed to review anything that you clearly don't know how to set up.

In my opinion, racing wheels or even play seats are for a specific groups, so not for everybody. I own a wheel that was 110€ and it's awesome. But for unexperienced people, maybe even people that are not even into racing games like Forza, this wouldn't be fun. Depends on who is testing it.

First of, why didnt you play in summer or spring mode instead of winter for a beginner? Second, its like in real life, who the fuck looks away from the street while turning and then wondering why they messed up? And the last point, it wouldve been way more fun if he played in first person.
