I've fixed heatsinks which have looked worse than that one. It's actually possible to get back to "close to original" - as long as nothing is "punctured".

Looks like what I used to see at Cash Generators. Crackheads would break into a house, throw a mattress out first and then throw valuables onto mattress. Sometimes they would bounce off and smash on concrete

Admirable attempt to fix this, but the spare parts are gonna cost more than a whole new unit. Personally, with all that effort, it would be a good candidate for putting in a crazy case or doing something off the wall with it.

0:40 usually you can press the eject button and that’ll power it up like you pressed the normal power button (if it’s a working functional Xbox)

I suspect that the design of the XBOX Series X will have protected the Main Boards to some extent except for some of the Ports of course, That definitely seems like one Angry Significant other or someone seriously lost their rag while playing a Game! Cool Video though Steve! 🙂🇬🇧

Mine occasionally crashes, but only while playing Halo Infinite or Apex online on big maps. Re did thermal paste, but it still happens on occasion. Almost curious if a ram chip is flakey.

My thoughts on owning an Xbox Series X. Let me point out, I like the performance over the previous Xbox and especially over the PS5. I was pretty disappointed over they hype on the PS5 especially when I dumped $500.00 into it after buying the Xbox Series X. That aside I can state that the performance on the Series X is the only thing I like about the console which really technically is NOT a console but infact a TOWER by design. Now based off use the Series Xs only redeeming value is performance only. 1. The home screen is a total mess with no way to completely knock out ads. Also there was not much improvement since they kept the previous consoles UI design. 2. Whether they felt it was unneccesary or not many gamers still use optical cables, both Series X and PS5 tossed it out. 3. Console design was very poorly implemented such as disc drive location, placement of USB including limited USB on front of the console. No DP support and no current hdmi earc connection for digital dolby surround sound setups. I mean come on for the price is this on par with what they call a barebone system? 4. You'd think Microsoft would have went with a 4 terabyte internal hardrive or bigger to accomidate more games since most content is already surpassing 100 gbs. Also there should have been an external port for plugging up XS compatable storage drives for easy swap outs imstead of a stupid internal storage stick. 5. Lastly games being released. Microsoft keeps injecting politics and ideology into games promoting lgbtq and so on. It's killing the gaming industry, nobody wants woke crap. Players are looking for other excuses but the one truth they avoid is right in front of them. At this point I don't see any future for consoles. Consoles had a good run for decades. I remember talking to some friends right around the time the Xbox 360 came out telling them that yes the graphics are getting better and smoother yet at some point when graphics reach a certain point of realism the luster and eye candy of games would phase out. I also said games in general would lose steam because lack of imagination, story telling and flat out crappy content would eventually turn players away. My final statement was that consumers would eventually weigh in buying consoles and games which could go into decline in the near future. Now here we are in 2024 and everything I said is coming to fruition. By 2027 it has been speculated Microsoft will cease making consoles. All I say is you has better start buying extra storage now so you can save all your online digital content otherwise you risk losing that which you have invested in.

The Series X is a way way better console than the PS5. The home screen is great, I have no ads on mine. It's smooth and easy to use. The console looks great, vs the PS5 which is absolutely hideous and way too big for what it is. The Series X is compact and very easy to work on. At least Xbox put proper factory storage in, whereas the PS5 did not. I loved the PS4, but until Sony decides to completely change the look of the PS5 and make it look better, I won't pick one up. The series X performance is way better. I've tested them side by side with the same game, installing and loading and playing the same game and the Xbox is way faster. I have tons of games on the hard drive and I've had my console since Christmas of 2021, and I just bought a WD 1TB expansion card. Most PS5 users have to buy more storage right away because it's not even a full 1TB out of the box and it even says it in small print too. I've also taken both consoles apart and the series x is so so much easier to work on. Of course if a significant other takes a hammer or power tools to your console, it's gonna end up like this for sure. Also, adding storage to the series x is not internal, you just plug the SSD into the back of the console, vs the PS5 where you have to take it apart and break stuff getting into it because it's the cheapest plastic ever

I have issues with my PS3 slim. It won’t load GTA 5; the HDD just shuts down. Every other game loads perfectly, even large games. I also replaced the HDD and the console still shuts down the HD. I don’t know what else it could be
