We don’t like the chicken feeders we’ve been using and have been on the lookout for something different. Megan discovered these and has been wanting to try them for a while and she finally convinced me to give it a try. This particular kit we found on that jungle website was incredibly cheap and also included a new watering system for us to try, as well.
Assembly was super easy and the kit included all the required tools (except for the drill). Megan is somewhat tool-savvy and was able to put everything together quickly and entirely by herself.
So far we are loving the feeders and can already tell the birds are wasting much less food than before. And, perhaps just as importantly, the goats can’t break into the feeders. The jury is still out on the watering cups (especially using them in a chicken tractor) but like Megan said in the video, for the price we paid for the whole kit it was worth giving them a try. I had one of those feeders you hate. Can confirm bantam chickens will go into them and lay eggs... I soak my feed now, but will have to get this system if I ever quit that.

We have fermented feed before but we had a hard time staying on top of it, seems like we were constantly filling buckets. BUT the birds did enjoy it.

For our mobile coop when we had one, we loved the cup waterer!! I tried to fenangle it for rabbits but they eat the plastic lol

Yes, I share your opinion of those old style feeders! Before I moved to Kentucky I built a feeder from a trash can with plumbing pieces. The problem I had was the ducks could get to the feed and they are GLUTENS! My goats are always looking for leftover chicken feed, too. Making changes that include that style of feeder as well as cups and/or nipples from a rainwater catchment set up. Another change I am making? Selling ALL my ducks!

@@GWPHomestead They also keep getting into the water trough and fowling the water. For now, the ducks will be gone.

We got this same set. It is way better than the one I built myself out of a bucket and PVC parts. The feeder works very well.

Love the feeder, and the waterer is fine, but I use it in a chicken tractor and it's really not great for that application. Would probably be best in a stationary coop.
