In response to feedback about prices going up in Philippines its still 50% less then the USA. Think if you could spend $200 a month on food instead of $400 a month. When your on a retirement budget you need to save on cost of everything because you are not making more money. Retire with us in the Philippines

Mark, thank you for the video. I would just like to add an idea, with the temperate climate a small community could have a communal gardening area reducing food costs even more as well as local contacts supplying other things. I have a Filipino fiancée that I will be going to visit next year and I have discussed some of this with her which got her entire family excited about the possibilities. I guess my own idea of this was a bit late LOL BUT I still think it is a wonderful idea. Thanks again Wade

In the master plan, we actually have always thought about having some shared garden space as well as restaurant garden space. Also in the plan is to have some garden apartment style buildings that would have flat roofs that could be outfitted with planters and plants that can handle a high wind element. In some areas of the Philippines such as Tagaytay, there are actually good size greenhouses that have already established herb gardens they'll even grow your own herbs for a price. But are ones within the community could be used by individuals or we have always thought of having it for the restaurant so that we can have the freshest herbs in our dishes.

Thats to much expensive..In philippines i buy that kind of shrimp 8 dollars per kilo its the biggest shrimp already.. if the rate is ... 1 dollar to 50 peso.. Its more than 20 pieces of shrimp already..
@MarkBurnettTheIslandGeneration
The worst part is that this shrimp is now $3.99 each at the store 2018.... ... How insane is that? Actually lobster here is becoming about the same price as the shrimp as lobster prices have fallen. But I agree with you the Philippines is cheaper
@MarkBurnettTheIslandGeneration
I have made a Food price list on The Island Generation web site www.theislandgeneration.com/#!fc-food-prices/ifxvu Please check it out and email with any prices you have from Philippines
