Is this $20 dollar head shaver just as good as the more expensive head shavers??? amzn.to/3LzK83m amzn.to/34Qh6LU amzn.to/3GUG768 (Cheaper alternative) amzn.to/34QiTR8 amzn.to/3sAJRVb (Cheaper alternative)
I agree 100%, the skull shaver is awesome. The main problem is that they don't last at all. Many of my friends love this thing but all haven't lasted more than 4 months or so. There are alway's issues with the battery not holding charge or just malfunctioning. It is really too bad, a great shaver when it works, but not very dependable. It's strange that this company hasn't figured this issue out yet. There are so many batteries on the market for different devices that last years. Why can't Pitbull skull shaver figure it out?? If and when they do, I am all in. It will definitely be the best seller out. Thanks for the reviews.
Could this be something to with your charging habits? Going from 100% charge to 0% all the time can drastically reduce the life span of a lithium battery. I've just bought the Pitbull Gold and plan to keep the battery between 50% and 80% at all times, with the occasional full charge to calibrate. I'll let you know how I get on with it.
I have the Pitbull and the Remington head shavers. I like both of them, they work best for me with shaving cream, but my favorite head shaver is the Andis TS-1, inexpensive, and works great without any lubrication.
I bought the Remington because I liked the design better than the Pitfall. I've had it for a week and have been using it daily. One thing I can say is it hasn't bumped the back of my head up like electric razors have. It could also be because I immediately use the post shave gel in the Yellow tube with the black cap. I'm still trying to master it so I don't have patches in the back of my head.So far using slow up and down strokes with a little side action has been doing the trick. Circular motion leaves patches for me.
Yeah I still use both but prefer the Pitbull 4 blade replacement blades.. as for fighting off bumps on the back of my head I use acne pads to wipe the back of my head and neck once or twice a day and it seems to work. Oh yeah and you’re definitely not gonna get a clean shave under two minutes as these head shavers claim. Thanks for watching!
Thanks foe the review I'm in the middle of trying to buy a new headshaver. This video is exactly what I was looking for. I already own a cheap headshaver. I'm trying to determine if it's worth jumping into a higher quality shaver like the Pitbull.
I think the Pitbull has enough going for it to warrant an upgrade, if you’re not completely happy with your current head shaver.. but I will tell you that the Pitbull at first doesn’t feel like a premium head shaver, but after using it every couple days for the last two years, I would definitely replace it if I ever broke the one I currently have.
@@style_45 thanks for the reply brother I appreciate it. Yeah the headshaver I have right now puts in work. It actually works really well but for some reason I feel the need to upgrade it. I feel like if this cheap Amazon head shaver I have now performs well then the Pitbull is most likely going to be way better. I'm definitely going to wait to see if they have any deals on the Pitbull. If I can get the headshaver for a good price then I'll make the switch. Thanks again for the great review and for commenting back.
I got the Remington and have been using it for around 8 months. Pretty happy with it, but am thinking of switching to the pitbull because of the way the blades are concaved. I think that might provide a quicker and more comfortable shave.
Best to test them again in a year. I've had TWO Remington RX-5's in less than a year. After a dozen cuts, it just stutters, sometimes even without skin contact. Utterly useless. And yes, it's been cared for, cleaned and lubricated.
I bought 2 I360 brand shavers from Amazon 1 with 6 blades and one with 5 doing great for now ‼️ one was head shaver only 20 bucks first test then after I got a freedom grooming looking one that was a little over 30 . They work really well same as in this video .. Was on the fence but was going to get a cheap one.. When I saw this video ended up getting 2 after seeing comparisons.. Can't see going any higher getting a skull shaver yet and for the freedom grooming one I've an exact unbranded it seems with different looking button and same attachments for 30 instead of $80 ... Let me know if anyone's done the same! And thanks for the Video Bro bro 💯
Yeah like I said they all pretty much cut hair about the same.. but for me the Pitbull head unit some how with four blades just feels better … the blade unit does have more pivot points then the others though so I think that has a lot to do with it being very comfortable to use.
@@style_45 Maybe in the future I'll try one of those pitbulls .. Also noticed on fb I'm surprised no one has commented that they've seen exact unbrands of the flex shaver I started just to see if my comment would get rejected lol... If I run into one of those sales I'll end up getting a pitbull to see the fuss .
Have you used a Braun series 8 or 9 vs skull? I'd like to see that but so far I haven't had luck searching. One person said the series 8 is hands down better and that's what got me interested. I've had a skull silver since 2019 and it's been good. Want to try their newer 4 head which you can take the back off to clean plus the heads are even more vertically flexible but it's sold out atm.
Anybody know the difference between the Skull Shaver Gold and the SS Platinum besides color and price? Looking at the specs. on Amazon they were the same.
I’m leery on picking one of these up how close does it shave compared to a razor? Over the years I’ve found using schick quattro and chremo cream I can shave against the grain in the shower in a few minutes and have a perfectly smooth head with no irritation. On the other hand if an electric shaver can get me as close as a razor against the grain I wouldn’t think twice about get it. So how close do these shave?
It looks like you shaved with a razor but if you run your hand over your head you can feel stubble…I personally, don’t mind that…. for me it keeps the razor bumps away…. It’s definitely a closer shave them clippers!
I’ve had two skull shavers they are brilliant devices but I’ve had problems with my The battery keeps going on and off the same thing happened to my first one I wish they can sort out this problem then I think it would be number one on the market
I have been using a $30 one for 2 years and every 6 months or so buying $15 replacement blades. I really don't see how more expensive ones could do any better.
My skull shaver pit bull I've had for 4 years just broke. I think one of my kids dropped it and broke the gears. I looked at a couple cheaper one on Amazon and am debating getting another, the trusted name brand Remington, or a cheap Amazon no name. I think they all use the same heads so that's not a deciding factor. I kind of want to get one of the no names for about $40 and hope for the best.
@@style_45 I think a fairer comparison would be a cheaper product that is roughly 50% of the higher priced one. That's a good overall bracket though of ~ $20, 60, and 100. You're just not going to get the same level of quality at 1/5 the price.
I dropped my skull shaver from about a foot off the ground about an hour ago and the part that connects the blade broke off so i need a new one. Hope this video helps
The Skull Shaver and Remington blade unit snaps off as one whole piece for cleaning … with the $20 head shaver you have to open each individual blade which can be tricky because they feel kind of flimsy.
Do you own a Pitbull?… these devices are essentially all pretty similar. It comes down to the blade cartridges for me and through my experience. the cartridge on the Pitbull is far superior than the RX5.. what has changed between the RX5 and the RX7?
@@style_45 yes I own the gold pro. I’ve tested both and used my electronic digital guitar strobe tuner it shows the Remington RX7 in turbo speed to spin/rev faster than the pitbull. Musical notes are measured in frequencies. The higher the motor speed, the higher the frequency. If you are a musician you will understand. For example the pitbull running at D and the Remington RX7 in turbo is running in F# which four notes higher than the Putbull. The RX7 has a faster speed and the blades are titanium.
I like the cartridge blade on the Pitbull way better(pivots better) than the Remington, but to be honest with you none of them give you as fast of shave as they claim.. I would say it takes me about five minutes to get a good shave with the Pitbull.
I guess it’s luck of the draw with these head shavers…I use the Pitbull and the Remington regularly and they still work great after a year and some change
It’s a knock off of the freedom grooming shaver. I bought the freedom grooming version for 60 bucks on their website and it came with all the accessories and to be honest it cuts better than the bulldog.
I will respectfully disagree with you… Freedom Grooming does not manufacture any head shaver, in most cases companies buy from the same manufacturer and put their branding on them this is not exclusive to freedom grooming.. To be fair Freedom Grooming is spending the most money on advertising so I can see that cost added to the head shaver.
@@style_45 I hear you but I bought 3 of these. The freedom grooming model then I bought two of the ones that look like it on Amazon that you reviewed one by navabelle and another by telfun. At first glance they look the same until you take them out and use them the two cheaper models blades aren’t as sharp, the motors are weaker and the build quality is nowhere near the freedom grooming shaver. Also the two cheaper models have zero customer support where the freedom grooming shaver has a full warranty and customer support. I know freedom grooming might not manufacture the shaver but they sale the better version because when you place them side by side you notice all the weak points on the telfun and navabelle shavers. They might look alike but they aren’t.
Is there a hack to sharpen the blades so you don't have to replace? I hate wasting money & creating more garbage when you can sharpen the blades even though they can't squeeze more money out of you. Can't stand that business practice.
Ok just finished watching the review and the video was uploaded 5 hours ago and the 4d shaver is already at 30 bucks so the 20 dollar shaver you mentioned doesn't even exist anymore. I see how these videos work and it's a shame because i bought the skull shaver originally because of one of your reviews and i subbed because i like your review style. I'm just not good with the okie doke
No “okie doke” here.. I purchased mine for $20 and I have no control over pricing… the point of the video is there’s a lot of cheaper options that almost or work just as well as the more expensive head shavers … thanks for watching!
AliExpress has same 4D cheap one. I bought 4 different types of cheap shavers, NOT good, waste of money. All broken now. E-wastes. I will save money for Skull Shaver Pitball. Remington also NOT good. Very bad Battery. Lots of people complained. I have Remington for 5 years. So Painful. Battery so bad. I checked the Amazon Review for all. All NOT so good. I have philips for 6 years. That is ok for first 5 years. Maybe Style45 can Review them after 1 year, 2 years, 3 years.
I think Amazon's prices change all the time based on demand. It happens with other products after a favorable review and the demand increases. I don't think it means there was a conspiracy with the person who made the video. It's just supply and demand.
