Be careful- it's a bubble and once people see the 5G doesn't work, going to be in for a rude awakening. Right now they pay TMobile for the service- but in HIP101 Nova Labs says their 5G doesnt work. They're proposing a RUG of their own radio community.
Man this MOBILE phone is the best thing to happen in crypto for me personally. Still waiting to actually use the phone service (accidentally messed up the number port from previous company), but in the meantime i made almost $200 in MOBILE doing nothing in a week
We all know companies make money off our constant input of data but monetizing that data on the consumer end is the next move. Keep going. Also, allow free cellphone service for those hosting Helium hotspots.
That sounds great and cool! I'm curious how things would work for smaller towns and communities. Would it ever be worth setting up a FreedomFi / Helium hotspot? I assume rewards would be less if it's not utilized as much.
Rewards are available to anyone who enables discovery mapping. So far at current prices, phone plans are paying for themselves multiple times over. That'll change eventually but it's a good time to be mapping :)
You have no idea how Helium works. More people joining means rewards go down for everyone, just like Helium 1.0 did. 1 million hotspots killed rewards for everyone, then the whole thing fell apart for years. Also, HIP101 says 5G doesn't work and they're planning a RUG on their own radio community. Be careful with this project- It's putting out major scam vibes. We like to think it can't happen, but it is.

Can someone please tell me what problem helium solves. I generally don’t see what it’s doing different than what other smaller telecom companies like cricket are doing.
Trad telcos need to employ lots of staff to find locations for cell towers, negotiate contracts to rent locations, and to install and maintain hardware. Also need to pay rent for locations. Decentralized networks like Helium rely on non-salaried microentrepreneurs, who often deploy on their own locations. Lots cheaper that way.
Helium also allow everyone to close coverage gaps themselves. Bad coverage where you want it? No need to wait for your telco to close the gap. You can deploy a Helium hotspot yourself (or ask a friend to do so) and close the gap.
@@snnamagh6007 The business incentive (if that could work) would be that they'd have hundreds of thousands of potential hotspots all around that could act as offload devices. The problem is that the original hotspots won't work as they're completely different tech wise.
No they cannot. The original hotspots are meant for low power low frequency transmissions. A raspberry pi just won't cut it. The newer devices are WiFi based and they have some great offerings.

Helium has the worse customer service they only work 8 hours a day, no 24/7 service and no phone number to contact them. My son was left hanging with service now for more than 8 hours, they told us to do the work for them and the rep just left the conversation without any explanation, why do you do this to people? Now I’m stuck in with a plane I can’t even use and I have to pay two carriers the old one and now the new one. Bad, bad, bad customer service.
For real. He’s delusional if he thinks people are going to drop 250-500 dollars on a hotspot, just so they can save money on their 20 a month cell plan. A hotspot that sucks bandwidth off of your home internet. Also hooking a hotspot up to your internet for commercial purposes is in violation of all ISPs

This isn’t a good idea. Trust me we DO NOT want cellular towers near all home locations there is a reason why we don’t have one on every corner. The health of all Americans would be in danger ⚠️ due to cellular towers just to have free phone and tokens.
So Helium wants to make YOU the cell tower and leverage your internet connection. And when away from the "home base" you should be able to use T-Mobile towers. That all sounds great in theory but... I hate when my cell phone is on weak WiFi and is not switching over to cellular - suddenly I am in a dead zone. Usually I have to manually turn off WiFi so cell network can kick in. If the phone is constantly trying to connect to WiFi and then slowly losing connections that would drive me nuts. Maybe it is not so - prove me wrong. And then there is T-Mo - they have the worst voice quality between Verizon and AT&T. I keep trying out T-Mo based networks and call sound quality is always horrible when calling Verizon based cellphones. BTW $20 is good but nothing special - Visible had a promo for the whole year at $15 a month; now regular price is going to $25 so that's right in the ballpark. Last is the crypto moniker - after FTX collapse "crypto" is more of liability than an asset.

Kinda horrifying to think about a neighbor putting up a cell tower without notifying others. We need less cell bombardment, not more. Do people really not understand how incredibly unhealthy it is to have constant exposure? Just one of the reasons cancer levels are off the charts. It's hard to figure out how people that are so smart can be so stupid. I want to move out of town where there is no cell service.
