My favorite is the sampler and what a steal of a deal! I have always been drawn to them and needlepoint-all the time and love put into them! I agree that it looks perfect where you put it. I splurged on one recently but it then balances out the deals I get. TFS and Happy Mother's Day!

I have that exact tapestry. It hung in our Livingroom growing up. My mom said they got it when married. I reframed mine to make sure I could pass on.❤️

OMG the sampler! I've create pieces for Mom on linen and it was very tedious. That piece is a find!💗. The Pyrex was a steal! 👍👍 When you go back to the thrift store look in the spot where you found the knife! 😂😂

The Vodka chain used to hang on a decanter, I have a few of those in metal. :)

The Edward VIII coronation pieces were already sold before he abdicated. I love the sampler, I have my great grand mother’s from 1879 and her daughter’s, my great aunt’s from 1904. I knew her as she lived until the late 1980s. Lovely video as always 👍

Edward VIII was king for about a year, 1936, before abdicating to marry Wallis Simpson, a divorcee. George VI, father of Queen Elizabeth II, became king upon the abdication of his older brother. Edward was never crowned, which had been planned for 1937, so your plate is certainly interesting, but not particularly valuable because so many thousands had been produced and sold in anticipation of the coronation. I did love the sweet sampler.

Great finds as always I love that sampler I wonder when it dates to. I've seen quite a few old books about various royals lately. I've not seen Pyrex bowls like that with the lids. Always amazed at the amount of silver you find. Happy mothers day.

The Prince was king for several months before he abdicated. Coranations can even be a year after they ascend to the throne as was the case of current Quenn Elizabeth. In her case ..her father died ahead of Christmas. Bad time for a coranation.

You were correct when you pronounced Staffordshire as "Stafford-sure". All counties in the UK are pronounced "sure" not "shire". I was set straight on this early on by my British husband (further proven by watching movies and now videos by Brits). Another tricky one is when there is a w near the middle of generally place names where the w is not pronounced and some further twisting of the pronunciation occurs (i.e. Warwick is pronounced "War-ick"). Thank you for sharing such lovely videos with all of us.
