Nice find. I found a 700 dollar Golden Bear varsity jacket with Italian leather sleeves for 8 dollars yesterday. Absolutely brand new, not even hairline scratches on the black painted buttons. Not bad for being 25 years old!
That last outfit was absolutely beautiful, the colors complimented each other, the different pieces were incredible and the subtleness of the fit made it a top notch outfit im my opinion! Great work Magnus, keep it up!
Angry Kid with internet access learn to handle money and work harder to get paid better. if you cant afford a jacket for a few hundred bucks u need to step up your game
Dunno if an American has already tried to educate you, and frankly I'm too lazy to scroll and look: but the "C" on the left boob is the first letter of the school, and "Boyar" on the back would be the athlete's last name. The years/patches are earned by the athlete based on performance or other shit depending on the school.
Yep and one day he's going to roll up on someone who lost or had their hard earned sentimental letter jacket stolen or lost and they're going to deck him in the mouth and take it.
The reason it has different sports, and “boyas” on the back is cause it’s the name of the person who owned it before and the varsity sports they played.
These jackets had to be earned. I hope he never comes across one from my high school that was stolen or lost. He'll get socked in the mouth and the person will take back their sentimental family heirloom.
the 700 dollar one was best due to the fact it looked much more like the actual 70's - 90's varsity jackets rather than the 2500 dollar one which was more fashionable and clean and its also more of like a suit.
It took me ten years but I finally got the varsity jacket I wanted this Xmas. I've wanted a Nike destroyer and they finally released one that wasn't cover in ugly patches. I got it on sale but it still wasn't cheap
It was bought in a very curated vintage store - don't think it warranted the price tag, but I fell in love the second I saw it, so yeah not worth the $700 tbh
The C is the initial for the high school’s name. (Some will have 2 initials like my school, some will also have 3) and the 88 is referring to 1988. Which would be the original owners graduation year. And what was on the back of the $25 jacket was more than likely his last name. This is from a American in high school who is looking to letter this upcoming school year.
Why is Dadcore so prevalent among not only fashion trends, but fashion in general? Perhaps it speaks to the inherent desire within us all to be normal, and start a traditional family. The appearance of normalcy is inherently positive, but there may be an underlying reason for the prevalence among the outfits of the youth. The safety pin-pierced-nostrils showcasing rebellious youth has given way to a generation that unconsciously desires a traditional lifestyle. Why then, is normalcy and traditionalism looked down upon, and sometimes spat upon, by the express beliefs of these same youngsters? It this phenomena purely ironic? Or could it be, that we are witnessing a rebellion. A rebellion against the "status quo of rebellion".
Magnoose, I’m dying to start growing a collection of photos of what I wear, and maybe even make videos documenting them. have you got any tips for someone starting out? Like, taking fitpics, being comfortable online, how to not care what your friends think of what you’re posting?
my question is: who tf finds a used varsity jacket, puts it in his store and thinks like, hel yeah, i'm gonna sell this random, non branded, used jacket for nearly a grand. tbh more questionable is someone going in and actually paying 700 bucks for this, but i'm still wondering about the seller
went to the beyond retro sale in peckham and ended up getting a varsity jacket with the same colours as the second one for £9. would love one of the SLP ones someday
I had a feeling I recognized that green and yellow jacket & it’s mascot. that letterman is not from a college, it’s from my local highschool here in castro valley, california. the school is Castro Valley Highschool. that jacket is in amazing condition for its age. crazy how its made its way down to LA, which is about 6 hours from here.
I bet the person who earned it or their family would like it back. As someone who had to earn a letterman jacket this seems disrespectful for some random person to buy and wear it. I can't find mine. He better be careful these jackets are sentimental and I know if he walks up on some ex athlete wearing his beloved letter jacket he is going to get punched in the mouth and the person will take their lost or stolen jacket back.
I bet the person who earned it would like it back. No one throws away or donates their letter jacket. Stolen or lost. It should be returned to the family or the school.
You should share this video so the person who earned that jacket can get it back. It's a shame he has it for $25 when it is priceless to the person who earned it. It should go back to the athlete or his family or the school. Some foreign jerk who knows nothing about the culture or pride in a varsity letter jacket does not deserve to have or wear it.
He's going to roll up wearing some dudes stolen or lost letter jacket and get clocked in the mouth and it taken. Mine was stolen in the 90s. Let me walk up on him wearing it. My nephews would make sure I got it back. It's very disrespectful.
