For $50 a night in my hometown you get a room in a motel where the ice machine is usually broken, the pool hasn't been filled in years, and the bed bugs are very friendly.

What impressed me the most was the dude showing you around. How friendly he was. How professional he was. Answered all questions. We need more people like him. Even the ladies at the front desk was the same.

Gotta say if that man was that patient to show me around I tip him for being kind and tolerant

This is all fun and games, until you hear: "Launching sequence initiated, sealing all exits".

Great deal, until at midnight you hear "Airlock system activated, preparing for human biochemical testing"

After this when he gets home he can say he has Vietnam flashbacks

i have some claustrophobia, but that room I think I could deal and even sleep good in. This was mind-blowing and very cool to get the opportunity for a first person perspective. Harald, this is the first video of yours that YT has recommended in quite some time and I used to look forward to your videos. Your videos have pretty much always been entertaining, inspiring, sometimes wholesome, sometimes adventurous but at all times they were awesome. I know that you have your reasons for not making videos now, but it cant hurt to ask you to start again because the exposure and enlightenment you brought to us was pretty great. A lot of wanderlust that I have acquired over the years is a result of your videos, among others, but you are a key figure and its sad to not see you with new videos anymore. Please come back. I am sure you have heard this a lot, but I would regret not saying it now so I have to.

The man who was in the elevator and who showed "Harald" around was very personable, handsome, patient and tolerant. He had a great smile. If I had a hotel I would want that man greeting my guests.

It really is amazing how much the world has to offer in terms of variety. It blows me away the quality of some of these places regarding the details such as the hulk art work in the gym of the hotel.

@10:44 You're supposed to tip the bellman. When you stiff the bellman, you miss out on all the cool things that the hotel offers, like a shuttle, or breakfast, or concierge, or complimentary drinks, or dinner... Always tip the bellman.

I wish they had these capsule hotels in all airports. Be nice to sleep when you have an over night lay over or just rent one for 4 hours and take a nap.

Imagine the person who came with the idea of capsule hotel. "Let's build tiny 1×2 meter boxes and charge people $20 to sleep there!" Brilliant.

I always find his arrival video weirdly comforting. Nothing like the feeling of traveling for hours then finally getting to relax and explore the hotel. By the way I would kill for that rooftop bar. In any US city that would cost the hotel price just to enter.

Thanks for the video Harald. It is awesome! I left Saigon in 1990 and haven't been back since. The images of Saigon in my mind are still back in 1990. So this is definitely a treat to see so much changes throughout the years I have left the country. BTW, you are very brave to travel to far east all by yourself without any guide and understanding Vietnamese. I would be scared to do it on my own and I am Vietnamese. Hahaha.

I stayed at Sunland when I first went to saigon... but in a suite.. great hotel, brilliant staff and an amazing rooftop bar with views of the city.. and a rooftop pool! good breakfast too!!

I was in Saigon 20years ago and man it has developed!

I stayed here a few years ago in that exact room and capsule! It was a great hostel compared to many others in the area.

wow, Ive seen 4 star US hotels with lesser gyms and NO pools. that hotel looks amazing. the room in that 2nd one is HUGE. put a computer in there and live in there xD
