Hey everyone - Just a quick thing I'd like to say. I do apologise for any differences you see in this video vs my regular content. I've been a little unwell lately and losing hearing (with alot of pain) in both ears and am a little scared. This impacts how loud I can 'comfortably' speak and of course, my mood has changed. I did notice it while editing. So i held back alot in editing and yeah I just wanted to apologise. You deserve my BEST, but I didn't want to leave you with Nothing this week. Love all you... I hope you are well
Honestly I really like the left side turned out but hearing how quick you had to work moved my final response to the right side just because there was so much range in greys to utilize. Absolutely love this series! Thanks for highlighting the benefits of making art on a budget. It’s pushed me to seek art supplies across a wider range.
The way you use cheap art supplies surprises me! Its so hard to tell the difference between the quality of cheap and expensive just beacuse how skilled it is!
As i was part of the livestream, i looked forward to seeing both and i was a little disappointed with the Sharpies tbh but the Graph'it B markers totally blew my mind, you could do exactly what you had in mind, really good job with this one
Awesome Stuff! Idea 💡: Taking this idea to the next level, do the left side Superman and the right side Batman. For the left side use 1 item that you believe to be the best - GraphitB, Copic, Etc. This would represent Superman, a god among us. Then on the right allow yourself to use a wider range of tools - colored pencils, standard markers, highlighters, sharpies, etc. This would represent Batman and all the hard work he has to put in along with his gadgets to match Superman. Then compare!!
For personal use? I recommend Graphit. But if you have a crowd, DEFINITELY Sharpie. They fill the room with a buzz. 😉 BTW bro, MASSIVE fan, for many many years now! Your music is a thing of legends
Aw thank you, but I'm sure you do amazing work with them too!! I just get lucky, I always go in blind and see what happens. Maybe it helps? Remove all focus and be free :)
That actually might work better for me. I spend so much time thinking about how I want to color something I end up never even starting or if I do I end up not finishing it because it wasn’t what I pictured in my head. Thank you for the tips I will definitely try that!
I am still amazed how well the sharpies are blending even with the different paper. I think I am fine using them if I don't draw humans due to the lack of skin tones (maybe a yoshi from mario) and stay with small drawing due to the smell
I don't have a lot of expectations for the Sharpies.... and I wasn't disappointed. But as always, your ability to select the right colors to make your drawing pop with such 3-dimensional effect just amazes me.
Hi sir I’ve been watching your channel for about a month now and you’ve inspired me to start colouring with the sick markers you use and I have bought some today and am so excited for them to arrive thanks again 🤩😃
Just wanted to say, watching your videos made me pick back up my pencil and paper and start drawing again after almost a decade of not doing so. Thanks!
Aside from the 10 styles videos, this is my second favorite type of content you put out. Always giving honest insight and teaching at the same time, awesome! Oh and Ducks are People Too!!!!
Woow that color blending is remarkable!! It's quite difficult to compare because both are looking stunning!! But I think 250 $ ones is worth ✌️!! Keep up the good work 👌💯
The great thing about these videos, it’s showing kids that you CAN make great art & not hold out until you get expensive supplies. Use what you can afford, just use it well.
The sharpie side looks pretty awesome to be honest. Reminds me a bit of the old school comic style coloring. Might be just the nostalgia but I'll go with the sharpies this time :D
The left side looks like out of a comic book with the sharpies while the right side looks like a really nice style for an illustration. Just goes to show how you can use different supplies for different uses...! Awesome vid.
Black suit superman was always one of my personal favorite suites, and this piece looks amazing! The glowing tones look so good, and the sharpie blending doesn’t look bad, I think it’s pretty well done for what you were using. For the next video like this, you should try Crayola super tips because they are even cheaper yet actually work better than most people realize, you just need to use water on either a watercolor brush or an aqua brush and they all blend almost like alcohol markers. I’ve gotten pretty decent results myself using an aqua brush, See what a professional like you could do with these techniques
i learned about your channel only about a week ago via Jazza but man i feel like your the most genuine pal over here.. your so casual and funny i am loving your channel, it really inspires me.. keep up the good work man LOVE IT
Dude this was a great video I think you should now make a speed drawing video In which you should try to make an art piece as good as you can and have fun. I Miss Those !
I'm stuck with the Sharpie set... you're right about the price. Man, skin tones...I find impossible to do with them.....but that's what I have at the moment and I'll just have to suck it up for now. 😁
i feel like its going to be the graphit b ones theyve done pretty well in the past and ive never really had good experiences with sharpies but we shall see...
Can we mix and match which parts of the sides we like: Left side - Hair, face, neck, cape, S thing Right side - eyes, body, arms Also agree the smell of these sharpies is enough to just go with the left side Love the video series
Love the look of the graphitB. Never thought the sharpies could come out that way. You truly are an amazing artist. Gonna vote for the graphitB for the blending abilities. Looking forward to more videos with you and Bob. Just found your channel and love it. Thank you.
I feel like the sharpie is very vibrant that’s why it’s attractive and drags our eyes to that side The huge difference between each colour just drags your eyes there From afar it looks really good!
I love that bit of pink on the Sharpie side. It was probably used because of a lack of blending options but it really pops next to the black. *Squint test it* Great vid.
I was playing around with my kid's paint sticks and thought, I'd love do see what ADC could do with these! P.s. thanks for all the help you have given me, I actually like my own art now!
Im still in awe of the fact, that u did this with Sharpies! Hope u ok! The fumes are strong... Might need a fan/ with an open window next time! Great work Bro!
I think the left side attracts the eye because of the exposed paper in the logo. That true white showing through allows it to breath and really sells a chrome look, which stands out in contrast to the orange/red light source in the rest of the piece.
The only reason the Sharpies draw the eye more is the heightened saturation of the tones. They're much more bold and eye catching is because they're not designed with blending in mind; it's just supposed to be 1 layer of ink so they've got to pop, chiefly to the satisfaction of more amateurish markets. The fact that you've achieved a result so verging on realism is frankly a miracle, and should not be the general expectation of the amateur buyer. I only own 1 Graph'it B marker, but I can say the brush nib is soft, precise, and not prone to fraying like inexpensive felt brush nibs often are, and the fineliner is a straight *game changer!* I'd REALLY like to see your comparison to the Kurecolor Fine & Brush for Manga line from Kuretake/ZIG, which is the closest competitor I've seen to the Graph'it B, while still being quite unique and distinct in execution of much the same design traits.
ADC, love your work as always! It would be fun if you took all the winners from the worth it markers and pitted them against each other to find the best markers for the best value. 😊
I hope your ears are feeling better now! I love using sharpies together with other alcohol based markers because the colors are so vibrant. Though it annoys me to no end that it's impossible to find a light brown sharpie. I managed to buy one in 2015 and it's my favorite pen ever and since then I've not come across another one. Come on, Sharpie! Give us a couple of different browns!
I'd see sharpee as a good contender in this one.. excited to see the results! Edit: By far the sharpie truly captures attention, good or bad. But the graphit b.. gosh that blending is just so stunning to look at.
One of my favourite series of comics is the Batman/Judge Dredd crossover. Love to see you draw/colour multiple panels to create a full page in different styles. Keep up the great work.
In my opinion you made the most important point by doing a side by side comparison drawing. That being saidit doesn't matter what you use as long as you know what you are doing you can make wonders with said medium. It is really subtle differences, they both look great.
Really nice video ..I love the drawing ❤️💙👍 I have a couple of black sharpies I use in my drawing "Fine bullet tipped or fine brush, pen " but only to outline with cause I know they dry quick and are pretty much smudgeproof and waterproof. def smell strong ..that's why I can't do a big piece with them.I'll try to get a few alcohol based brush pens and give them a shot ..My weakness when it comes to my art,is marker sketches but I love seeing other people do them.
Why did you remove the videos from the adc art attack 2 channel BTW either it is cheap or expensive only you can make a good artwork with both My mind blew when I saw the drawing
Yeah, I think the vibrance of the Sharpies just makes it pop and look better, especially the purple. If the other side had more saturated purple and orange it would probably win
I feel like the left side pops because the orange highlight is just more saturated. And no matter how much I love the blending on the right, that orange just wins me over
THE MORE EXPENSIVE MARKER IS THE WAY TO GO IF YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO BLEND YOUR COLORS BETTER OF COURSE. ALTHOUGH I STILL LIKE THE WAY YOU USED THE SHARPIE MARKERS AND USED WHAT YOU HAD. THE EXPENSIVE SIDE LOOKS AMAZING AND OVER ALL AS A WHOLE YOUR COLORING IS INCREDIBLE!*****
Your level of talent and wealth of knowledge for a non-formally trained artist is sooo impressive. I love watching all your videos. Please do a female character soon🥰
Great video! If you ever get the chance, definitely try out the bic markers. They are really good, better than Sharpies imho. They are pretty cheap too.
Sharpie is my guess. Edit: yeah, I’m thinking sharpie. Of course I would also need so much practice to use them as you did but I’m really liking that side!
I think the saturation of the highlights on the left is what draws the eye. The colors pop. I think a touch more of that approach would benefit the right side but clearly the right was executed better on a technical level.
at 1:37 i think that graphit b will win cuz we have seen it blend but never seen sharpie being blend so i think graphit b edit: yes i was correct but still the sharpies were outstanding and even if the marker cost 1 dollar for a set and are the worst that can be made adc art attack will make it look like a 100 dollar marker
Limited edition sharpies. In the US, that box gets released around Christmas time for about $19.99. Depending on area, the price goes up. Each box is also styled different.
First of all, I hope you're feeling better now. Personally I love Sharpies - I have about as many colours as they do over various collections. That boxed set came out a couple of years ago - may or many not still be available. The lowest price I've seen it is about £19 in Tesco and £15 in Smiths as an 'add on' price when purchasing other things. I use Sharpies a lot for colouring my 'adult colouring books' - they give good consistent coverage with very few 'scrub lines' if you know what I mean (a good, flat surface). My main bugbear with colouring pens and markers in general is that I can never find a good mix of colours across the board for my themed patterns - why is it nigh on impossible to find a proper sky/baby blue, for example? My best set of art pens for colour range was the Do rafts brand "Brush Strokes" which was as expensive as the Sharpies - but 7/8 years later a lot of the colours are still going strong (even though my crafting isn't). Finally - the Sharpie smell. Funnily enough I've never been bothered by it. Perhaps it was so bad for you because you were leaning over your work and using the pens for the first time. It's entirely possible that the smell fades the more time you have with the cap off.
If you are having an issue finding Blues, I would recommend Winsor and Newton Pro/Brush markers. They have an amazing collection of blues. I buy them as singles, I find its much better than collections as half the colours go to waste in a set :).
I have two suggestions. I love your negative work. If you could do another using paint markers I think it could be special. Also, I think a mixed media piece that explores how well cheap and expensive work together would be interesting.
Great drawing again but im still drawn to the right side. I would love to see you do a drawing on A2 or A1 paper! And go all out with background and characters from the Marvel universe.
Love these - really want to see a Punisher or Carnage picture. Anti-hero or Villains are so much more interesting than Vanilla Man or Stereotype Woman. Loved the Joker and Robin picture from a while back.
