Stunning setup... These wide radiating speakers will sound exceptional in a fully treated room. Focal really need some crazy high powered 18 inch subs in there to compliment those great speakers.
You can do the same kind of setup with much cheaper equipment. I am using inexpensive, used Infinity speakers, a 13.2 channel Denon receiver. Currently doing 7.2.4, getting ready to expand to 7.4.6. And altogether will cost less than just the processor in that setup, not even counting the speakers, subs, amps and that projector.
I Demo'd this room and it had significantly low bass. I wasn't impressed at all. 4 subs were nowhere near enough for this room size. With all that high-end gear it was a bit of a letdown to be honest.
The equipment is obviously beautiful to the eye ,but not many people have this level of disposal cash. There comes a point that one would say this is insanity.
@@aarontan6241 20 feet by 12 feet. I will not be using Wide channels because the room isnt too wide and I only sit 8 feet from the display. If I were sitting further back I would use then. I am using 6 height channels though. Front heights over the front stage and rear heights over the rear surrounds. The distance between them necessitates that I use Top-Middles to cover directly overhead and thus the need for at least 13 channels for me.
@@Audioholics with what I'm doing it needs 6 because I'm doing fromt and rear heights, leaving them 18 feet apart above me. Thus I'm adding a Top-Middle to cover directly over the seating area. I prefer the discrete sound from a top-middle when its a static 7.1.2 mix. And I find 6 heights superior for a fully active mix like Alita Battle Angel.
@jeffbryner5355 spoken by someone that's never experienced a system of this level. The JVC/Stewart video experience was absurdly great aside from the sound.
@Audioholics I have had some experiences with some hi end stuff my dad worked for audio dimensions and for our local news company as a live shot person. I have not heard what you have but I have heard b&ws Dimond series and I promise there not worth 25k each and I can just bet that that's not worth 250k and you are paying for the name. It's like c8 vette vs a lambo. You buy the expensive lambo to look good while the c8 is alot less but is just as good as lambo. A lambo isn't worth what it's mrsp. You are paying for the name. I'm sure it sounds amazing just not 250k amazing
I listened to the Grand Utopia some 10-15 years ago. Among the worst I have ever heard. The woofer + mid-woofer concep of the Grand Utopia is flawed. Simply poor engineering.
Your crazy, putting down what you can’t afford, that’s been done many times before, but it’s kind of dumb. The Grand Utopia is one of the greatest speakers in the world.
