I absolutely hate companies that prey on people, SO wrong! I will keep Blanche in my prayers and I hope she's doing OK, we grandma's love our babies😊🙏😇♥️
Blue World Pools tried to pull the same rip off tactic on me and when I said, "No!" The salesman became so rude and began making smart remarks to me. That company needs to be shut down!
Her 7th grade education is not what limited her from understanding, their lies did. An above ground pool should never, ever cost that much. They clearly sought out to rip people off. What they did was intentional and they need to be investigated for it.
Back in 1972 while I was overseas my wife bought a window air conditioner with similar terms. When I got home and looked at the contract, I notified the company to remove it immediately. They threatened me with a law suit, I returned the favor and told them they would be banned from doing business with anyone in the United States Navy. They removed the AC and we got another at a tenth the cost. Companies like this prey on naive and innocent people.
There’s a special place in hell for people who take advantage of people like this knowing the harm and turmoil they cause. Absolute trash. I really hope she finds the help she needs. God bless her heart soul.
I was threatened the same way putting a lean on my house or pay them $11,000 from lies the salesman said, I was trick in to buying, I was supposed to be buying a $399 pool at the end of the day my pool is costing my $32,0000.
Absolute rip off! The lady seems like a great lady. However, she did agree to the rip off deal, no matter how bad it was. Also, it looks like her property is abandoned. Why is the pool so filthy?
This same company had sent a rep out to my house just a day ago. Im shopping around and simply called them to ask for quotes on above grounds. They informed me that only their techs carried that information and I would need to schedule a 90min consultation with said tech at my home. Fairly early into the process the rep mentioned the $299 Econoline, not until double the time they said it would take did the rep finally give me a quote for a 27' above ground......$31,000. He had with him a laminated sheet that he was pulling his price from. I asked to see it because I wanted to see all prices for all sizes...I feel thats a fair thing of me to ask? He refused to not only let me take a photo of it so I could ponder a decision but actually wouldn't even let me look at the sheet. He continued his pitch as I grew more irritated with his life stories that didn't have anything to do with the purchase of the pool and pushed for me to sign and pay a down payment that I could change my mind on within 3 days. It was at minimum an uncomfortable experience as I finally just had to ask the gentleman to leave my home. They simply come to your home and throw numbers around. He said that the area in which I live is a "show area" and if I agreed to that they could come off the price some. I believe that consisted of allowing them to show other people in the area their product at my home. Some way or another after he had spoken to a coworker on the phone this inflated price made it's way down to roughly $17,000. Needless to say that irritated me even more....what is the price really? I guess what Im trying to say is just be smart, don't sign anything that folks aren't allowing you the time you deserve to think over such a decision and look for other red flags as well such as not allowing a customer to view options and prices or refuse to provide a customer with a list of those. If this is a similar experience for all of their customers Im not quite sure how they ever sell a pool......some people bite I suppose. Unfortunately for this fine lady her education level may have played a role but she clearly signed and I hate that for her. It's a very unfortunate situation.
Hmm… There are lots of Legal scams out there that will become extremely costly if you don’t think thing’s through… If it’s too good to be true then it too good Eve true. I’m glad you didn’t fall victim to this so called pool company, 👊🏾🇳🇬🇺🇸
It's amazing how legalities and certain case law always support and favor big business or corporations. Sometimes a judge or litigator has to use empathy, fairness, a true meeting of the minds and what makes sense. SMH.
It's simple. The company makes money from financing the pools, not selling them. I feel bad for this woman, but it was clearly written out in the paperwork. There are shady lenders everywhere, and sadly this happens everyday.
They almost got me also. I paid 500 down and praise God I read the interest rate it was 30%!!!!!!!! Ummmm nope. They promote refund my 500 Never saw it.
If you’re talking to Blue world pools and haven’t signed anything yet, hang up the phone and run! This is a classic bait and switch. I knew darn well when I saw the ad on tv. I’ve worked on pools since 1975 and they advertised a pool installed on their property for $399. 😵💫 I couldn’t afford to do the labor alone for that price much less including the pool land equipment. There’s an old saying. “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.” My advice is deal with local stores and installers. Check references.
Same I financed one with them in 2020, I’ve had nothing but issues with it, it is not level, when filled one side of pool water is higher than other side. When I need to call them for repair they charge to come out yet take months to get back to me. But quick to call for payment, they recently put a lien on my home 😡, for only 2 months of no pay. Blanche, did you get anything resolved, I don’t like a lien on my home.
Because the interest on the damn things are like Rediculous!!!! They did the same thing to me and my mother and if I had not canceled it I would be in the same spot. Bless her heart. I'd hire a lawyer. This company is ridiculous!!!!!!
They ripped her off, my pool is bigger than that same size and I paid only 4 thousand, know what u are getting into when u get a pool, do your research, know how to keep it clean, I added a deck, pool slide and basketball pool hoop to mine.
did I miss something here? Was the elephant in the room the dire condition of the pool? Did anyone ask why it looked like a $hithole in her backyard? Obviously those grandkids werent using it
She should have known what she was getting into for maintenance of a pool. I mean seriously people struggle to take care if kids but you know to feed, change and bathe them?!?!?
I get that it cost too much. However she should have kept in in usable working condition and charged her 50 grandkids 5 bucks for all day dip. Each and every time! Lol
Still wouldn't pay at 30% interest. Disgusting. She needs a good lawyer isnwhat she needs I'd be glad to go to court with her. I'm on FB. Keri Neese Holstein
I know this comment is old but my friend builds pools and just said that pool only costs 799. She was charged about 29,000 too much. For 30, she couldve had an inground pool with a diving board and water slide. Whomever did that....needs their ass kicked. HARD.
If someone buys a pool ,they are going to have a payment. If its a 3 year 700 dollar pool, 200 in chemicals, electric use for filter and pump. You cannot go to Walm Art and get a pool like that. If it was 4K there, you have to buy the pump, filter, you have to prepare the site, you have to install the pool yourself. That 4K pool turns into 15-18 grand. Any pool is going to cost 16-20K with all the add ons. Monthly, you will have chemicals to buy. I empathize with people, but come on, its 2023, if you don't understand something, you ask google or get with a friend. All the this woman's kids can't kick in for the costs of the summer? Everyone knows that pools are expensive to own when they do their research. Sad, about 100 bucks worth of chemicals and a day or two on this neglected pool could be up and running. Some people just don't want to maintain their pool. I think her heart was right, but no one was there to help her keep up the cleaning (automatic pool vacuums, but someone has to hook it up and let it run). Where was her family that gets the benefit of the use, but discards the responsibility of helping Grandma out. This video seems a little suspicious. Ever since Snopes and other consumer complaint sites were caught lying, I don't trust most of these as they show NO paper work about what was promised, what the customer was asked to do, what the reality is and what REALLY happened over three years.
$400 all day long any day of year in Walmart wondering wher do they find all those victims I would have been millionaire if they pay me only $1500 per pool with installation lol
We told them the pool was for our grandchildren. My husband and I had no clue we paid a deposit of 1, 000 down. We kept asking the price of the pool and the salesman reply was " Oh we getting to that later". He got over on us , as he was writing up the contract he was having me go look for documents and when I came back his statement to me was " of sign here and " oh you need to get this document ". I was not paying attention. He tricked us into signing a 12-year contract paying 471.00 a month for a above ground pool. They cashed our check and I called to cancel once we realized our mistake. They claimed we need to contact the cancellation department on Monday. I called and they said " Oh it's too late to cancel. You signed the contract, and we have to honor that, either pay us over 8,000 or let us install the pool". Days later they call again and offer us lower payments at a different %. I again told them, " WE WANT TO CANCEL". A lady in the office of Blue World Pool called with an even different quote and we still refused. Her comment to me was " This is like a cancer It will not go away. You are obligated to this contract ma'am." I thought that was so unprofessional of her to say, because I do have cancer, breast cancer. They took advantage of us being old people and to top it off my husband is a United State Veteran suffering from dementia. These people are a joke, and something needs to be done to stop them from keep ripping people off. It has been 6 weeks now and we still don't have nothing at all nor our money back.
I live on a fixed income, let me get into debt for a pool! 🤦♀️. The pool people put it in PLAIN WRITING, it wasn't even in fine print, this is 100 percent this lady's own fault! How about if this lady owns her own mistake?
What makes the matter worse to me is.This company doesn’t report it to the credit bureau, so at least your credit could go up after paying all that money.
It says right on the top page of the contract... annual percentage rate, 15%.... finance charge, $16,047.50.... amount financed, $14,296.69.... total payments, $30,344.16.... total sale price, $1,000 + $31,344.16 (which is slightly incorrect due to their faulty math by 2 pennies)
Granted, she got majorly rooked on the pool deal. But why is it sitting there empty and dirty deteriorating? At least use it and if it was clean and functional, she'd have a better chance getting refinanced if it looked like it has some value
Buyer beware the pool was offered at $23,000 then the salesman went down to $17,000 interest was at 35 percent or so for 144 payments they don’t haul the dirt away they don’t do any installation of electrical for the pump they don’t do any plumbing they don’t even fill the water nothing just put a standard above ground pool in with a liner For that price to be financed I will put an in ground pool just saying
It was not the lady the company found away to get over but it is going to come back on them because o am definitely taking them to court every body gone get paid 🙏
I seen that commerical and said to myself forget that i would rather buy a intex pool cheaper than that i am not keeping it up all year around if its to good to be true is probably is.
I bought a top of the line 24' with a top of the line sand filter, $5000 I wonder if anyone in the history of that scam company has ever actually received the $399 pool. heck I think walmarts is close to that
The crazy thing is I think I know who is a “recruiter” for this so called company after connecting some dots. I don’t know for sure 100% but based on the info I’ve seen on the backend of their website for jobs (which is password protected), I think it’s connected to whoever was operating a FX Ponzi scheme in Sarasota FL back in 2020. They are probably going to pop up across the US “selling” and scamming over the next 2 summer months. They have hotel training locations on the back of the website that’s password protected with dates (so people don’t know where they are meeting). Someone told me about a sales job for BWP and referred me to the recruiter. I had a bad feeling about this company so I just texted the recruiter saying I would not be able to make it for “training” and found another opportunity. Needless to say they were very unprofessional and rude since they lost out on training me. There’s training this week in Gainesville and I hope these innocent people don’t get scammed or defrauded. In the “hiring process” they tell people to bring SS card and bunch of other sensitive documents. I really should make a tik tok on this or talk to a news channel. I have no idea if I’m right but if I can possibly help people I’m down to talk
Wasn't it all right there in black and white though? What she would be paying with interest, over time? Don't sign it then. Sometimes the need for instant gratification clouds peoples judgement. They weren't hiding anything from this lady or doing anything illegal. They just upsold her a more expensive pool, with crazy interest, and she didnt say no. Now she owes them more money than what it's worth. Lesson learned.
I would have never bought a pool from any online company. Its always best to go to one in person. They took advantage of her because she's a woman and would be an easy target. Because women don't care about the fine print and would say yes ro anything. They know the pool isn't worth $30k its not even worth $4K.
All you people saying it’s wrong she agreed to it its a high interest lone nothing any different then buying a car with a high interest rate….. people need to pay attention to what there signing….
299? thats obviously a bait and really should be taken as a sign to lure people. so better keep out for your money and dont sign anything or even verbally confirm anything
That’s a steal pool. Not even aluminum. It’s a junk pool lol. This is what you call bait and switch. I work in the pool industry we know of companies that do this, they bait you in with ridiculous low prices for pools that don’t even exist then boom you “upgrade” to a junk pool.
