For your mud hole problem I would suggest some gravel with stepping stones running through it. That way it will create drainage but will still make it easier to walk barefoot across it.

I hope you don’t mind my suggestion. You bought beautiful hanging flowers. I just love them! If you could just lower them so they are not out of eyesight. You can do that by adding a simple chain to your nail or hook and then hook your hanging plant to the bottom link. That way your flowers will be easier to water and easier to admire! Also, when you have the budget for it, I would have two rugs on your large patio, one under the table and one in the center of your seating area. You did a great job on your patio! It sparkles!

Looks so pretty. A tip that I use every year, usually twice during the summer.... I get 2 bottles of Windex Glass and Patio cleaner early in the spring. Then when the weather is warm enough, I hook the bottle up to the hose and spray my whole back porch. Windows, cement, house walls etc.Let it set with the cleaner on for a few minutes and then give everything a good rinse. It does a great job on the windows, screens, window sills, patio furniture, cushions etc. etc. Then I have an extra bottle already on hand to do it again later in the summer.

We had an area like that at the edge of our patio. We put stone in the entire area and used 24” stepping stones off set from one another to create a path. Looked great and no more muddy paws!

I agree also. I really like them, they are so retro. Also I would put the rug down on that sitting area. Because the eating area would be easier to clean up if anyone would drop food off cleaning your feet from the mud. I would definitely put some gravel or small rocks with stepping stones on the muddy area which it would add more space to your patio area.
@vidproquo918
@vidproquo918 3 года назад
You might want to put the rug at the seating area and leave the dining table bare underneath. It would make less mud ultimately. You could also switch the barbecue area and the seating area. Unless of course, your kitchen is right off of that door in which case you do want to keep the barbecues there. Planter boxes made out of whatever and I do mean pallets or whatever right at the edge of the patio would define The edge and keep dogs and kids from running randomly over the whole thing and control the flow of traffic
@vidproquo918

Good job addressing spring clean up. I would paint the metal chairs, tableset to match your new (?) swing. As to the perimeter of the porch, definitely address the drainage with sand/gravel then add a paver boarder about 2ft wide in a color that coordinates with your house exterior, maybe even add it along fence line (all folks who mow appreciate a straight edge and less lawn). ☺ PS maybe come up with a puppy paw cleaning solution near the entrance to reduce what they track in. I don't have a dog so you'll have to sort that but I imagine it would be easier on your door...what a lovely home you have!

That is a good idea! However, I've added mulch so many times only for it to wash away, be accidentally hit with the mower, etc. I recently saw a house and the flower beds had shredded rubber from tires!!! It may sound a bit strange but it was so pretty and will last FOREVER!

I would put a big nice flower bed with some bushes in front of the porch. You could raise it a little and even plant some strawberrys or things like that for the kids to snack on. And you shouldbuy some duct tape to fix the broken stuff 😂
@dgexpressllc7450
@dgexpressllc7450 Год назад
For the mud: no dig plastic edging and white rocks. For the bed before putting the rocks - level it out with a hand held cast steel stomper or stomp on it really good, add water enough to wet the ground and sprinkle a little ready mix concrete (with gloves and mask - not a kid project) then add the white rocks. Best to use the cast steel stomper over the rocks but feet will work then wet the rocks again so Concrete will bind a little with the rocks. Worked for us in the sandy FL state. 👍

Put the black plastic down spout hose on the bottoms of your gutters and stretch it out away from the porch area, and I would put edging down about 3 feet out from concrete and put down weed prevention cover and use river rock over that with a few stepping stones. Make sure the gutter is cleaned also. If they aren't then in a hard rain they over flow and land right in the mud hole. Looks good girl!!

If you put a nice flower bed in an l-shape on each side of the patio and leaving a walkway to the grass, it will eliminate them going off the edge to pee. Rotate the waterfall in the corner with maybe a few rubber tree plants and a few ferns around it to have more of a tropical look if you put gravel in that area they will not go through the gravel either. Possibly elevating the waterfall/ flower bed high enough so that it is not a convenient place to jump up to and potty!

Yep I agree with comments Def grab you some sandpaper sand rust spots on your chair and spray paint those babies the color of your swing then grab a plastic table cloth maybe not solid red but some splash of your spray paint color in it & Bam watch the difference. & A plastic chain at Walmart to lower your plants. But wow those 🪟 are shining girl!!! You won the lotto on your hubby so nice to see a man who has so much patience because let me tell ya..I would of had to buy a new squeegee after finding the old one I threw in the neighbor's yard 😄 🤣 I have the same problem with the mud too so I'm thinking extend my patio with octagon pavers & gravel. Hey!!! I stumbled upon your channel for the first time today! Thanks so much for sharing. You are hilarious!! Great job on pressure washing that rug, it worked wonders. I love the little tables you found at Five Below! I use them for plant stands! I also noticed that they have really decent sized outdoor rugs for $5. I'd thought about taking two and sewing them together with fishing line to make a larger rug and they can simply be sprayed with a hose to clean them. I agree with most of the comments here about pavers, stones, or even river rocks in the area of the yard where water stands. You did a wonderful job of using what was already on hand to create an inviting space for your family. Your kiddos are so cute wanting to help with the projects.
