You should do a delid video on the 7700k intel cheaped out on the internal thermal paste and you can get up to 20 degrees Celsius lower temps by putting a special kind of thermal paste on the inside of the heat spreader

SLI still not worth it at all..the performance increase isn't quite there yet...If they don't fix the sync issues between cards while gaming I really can't see the benefits of going SLI or CrossFire

It will be once drivers are more optimized, that's what I believed until I purchased a single Gtx 1080 and wanted to run 4k, you will feel devastated to know that even the most powerful card in the market is unable to to run 4k 60FPS, this is where SLI/CF comes in and solves that issue. On top of that with SLI, it will only get better as coding and drivers improve not worse, in addition you have a future proof gaming build as well.

Du G Hope that it's an update away like you said. But I think is more complicated than that. I believe there is a big bottleneck regarding on how the cards communicate with each other let alone with the CPU itself. I'm not sure how does the SLI bridge affects that interaction too. what's clear is that generation after generation we still facing the same issue on SLI or Crossfire setups

I am confident it will only improve in the future, SLI/CF used to be a disaster in the past, but now they are getting better and better, we get new profiles with every updates, developer and companies are more focused on making SLI compatible, just for that NVIDIA literally eliminated more than two cards SLI for the pascal series, except titans of course. If DX12 does what Microsoft claimed it will, then we are in for a hell of a good ride.

Have you seen how well SLI/CF scales in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided? It's literally near 100% performance boost. a 2x RX 480 rig can outperform a single 1080 in that game.

Why the blower style coolers on the graphics cards? There is enough room in the case so why not using an aftermarket cooler.

awesome build! pretty expensive but still awesome. im seeing alot of flac from the compunity cuz of gpu selection, but personally i prefer the back showing all the electrical components, although u coulda gotten a 960 evo/pro and saved a bit of pci lanes and money, just imo

I would choose these RAM: G.Skill TridentZ RGB 16Gb 3200Mhz AIO: NZXT Kraken X62 GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1080 Extreme Gaming it will look better :) in perfomance i think the biggest difference would be only in the RAM and little bit in the GPU, because of the non-reference design Sorry for the bad english :/

I have a couple questions. These may be a stupid questions, but could I buy this build with only 1 GPU, and install the other one at a later date? could I just open up the Tower, plug in the GPU, close the tower, plug it in, start, and go, or is there more to it?

More people should use Samsung 960 evo/pro ssds. They offer speeds faster than hyper x m.2 ssds in raid 0. They are expensive though.

Just bought the same cabinet and the same cooler, but I can't install the cooler. The screws are not long enough to fasten the fans to the radiator when inserting form the top. Have no idea how you managed to this, doesn't show in the video.

Well at least the Ryzen CPU/Motherboard side of things are looking very promising. Hopefully AMD undercuts Nvidia's GPUs the same way they did to Intel's CPUs. $300-$350 for a GPU thats on par with GTX 1080 would be awesome. If thats the case than squeezing at least 16GB of DDR4, PC case, power supply and some fast M.2 Nvme SSD storage for your OS may even fit in (or close to) a $1200 budget. That is if you are smart enough to wait for each component to go on sale of course.

At $259 the 6 core 1600x is a amazing and affordable bang for buck deal that should be more than you need for gaming for a while, especially if it overclocks well. I wouldn't have a problem going with that one at all but i really do have my heart set on the 1700x lol. Its $130 more but they justified that well by making it higher clocked with 2 extra cores and 4 extra threads. None of those extra cores or threads should affect gaming right now but its nice to have that extra bit for background tasks and future proofing the rig a little. I take at least 7 years to upgrade my PC every time lol.

Is the radiator fan pushing from bottom to the top or are the fans at the top pulling air above? Can't tell cause he place the fans at the bottom of the radiator but the place it on top and there where no fans. Want to build this case with a Ryzen cpu.

Today I was reading about i7-7700k awful pre-applied Thermalpaste between the Die and the Core, I watched several youtube videos of people Deliding it and putting a new high quality special paste, and for one example, 4.9Ghz OC would give 90C under stress but after the new paste it will drop to 65~70, 20 to 25 degree lower which was crazy!!!!!!!!! Shame on Intel for cheaping out the paste

Usually the CPU's PCIe lanes are only tied to one of the X16 slots (split to x8/x8 in sli on Z270). The other lanes used by everything else are done by the chipset DMI controller.

How is this good? Wouldn't you be better off with a broadwell cpu? since the 7700k only supports up to 20 pci-e lanes, and two gpu's is 32+ 2 m.2's are 8pci-e lanes. Which means you need a total of 40 pcielanes for the system to work the best.
