technically the vast majority of his poker profit (on-stream) has come from that one hand, he's barely a winner apart from that. I love Mariano but it's true lol
@@paulhiggins140 i suspect he was massively winning back in the day when he was playing smaller, which was before he started splashing around so much. But yeah, the higher stakes stream stuff dwarfs all of the past.
@@pokertroll320I agree...he was definitely killing it in poker when he was just doing his stream and playing much much smaller stakes. But he likely would have never had 150,000$ to lose playing at those stakes. So he may be losing in poker now, but he's clearly winning in life. Definitely should go back to his roots tho for a bit, he's the best when he's on his A game.
I remember just a couple years ago.You guys are playing 1_3 and now your at the top of your Profession. Keep on keeping on. Nothing's easy, I work on a drilling rig. I fell and undisclosed height last winter and broke my back, the recovery is one of the hardest things that I've ever gone through. I expect to be. Fully recovered and in shape by probably november, That being said I always thought I was a good poker player until I saw you and brad owen, And all these other fantastic poker players that make blogs. And I realized. No matter how good you gethere's always somebody better out there. Always remember you're one of the Best in the world at what you do, I don't know if this helps you at all but I feel for you.
I appreciate the honesty especially at the end. I think we all have been there and you described it perfectly. When things go bad luck wise you tend to play bad and push. I saw it a few hands where you didn't play yourself, you were triggered. It feels bad to watch cause it reminded me of me. You are a great guy Mariano, and your showing the reality of poker. Just stick to the basics next game and focus on playing well. Not so much on big pots. You got this.
i can with 100% confidence say that i have no idea what its like to lose 300k in one week, or 158k in one session for that matter. Most i've lost in a session is maybe 2500$ and that made me want to jump off a bridge. Common misconception in this world is that just because you have a bigger bankroll it somehow would hurts less, money doesnt lose value just because you have more of it. 300k is 300k no matter who is holding it.
Hey Mariano, I've been a fan since the drop and loved all your videos and your beats. I always knew that was you putting the music together. It's been a rough go lately but you are an amazing card player and you'll turn things around ! Good luck on the future felt and keep your head up. We are rooting for you ! Cheers Xavier !
Mariano, thanks for being so real, even when shits not going great lol. we all appreciate the real/painful side of poker, esp from a player as good as yourself. opens ur eyes a bit. ur the best for being real, and it adds that much more emotion and power to ur vlogs. thanks for the content u make brother - ive learned a lot from u, and its helped cheer me up when i havent been feeling the best, poker or not. youll be alright - hopefully next session is a little bit friendlier
I appreciate the transparency with your poker career. This documentary style vlog was super cool, I hope you and Joey get together to film like this more often. Keep your head up, you're going to turn it around this year! Best of luck!
your a bonafide you tube legend bro... just keep doing your thing, the $$$ will come back to you...thanks for these brutally honest ones, has to be hard to do...
dude if all your videos were like this you would hit 1 million subscribers fast , loved it man , loved the real conversation you had with your girlfriend after that big loss , it was so refreshing and real
I like the raw emotion.. cuz that's how your suppose to feel after a bad session.. we all can relate with that.. with that being said.. you'll get them next time
All aside from the huge loss great Vlog!! And yes, it was very hard to watch. I like to see you win. Your poker game shows that you’re human. I love how you always put things in perspective afterwards all Poker aside things are great. I think that’s why you’ll always be thriving in life. I don’t like the word successful great video. Cheers. Hate to see the loss but can’t wait to see the bounce back.
Love the way you expressed your feelings and emotions at the end. It is indeed a vicious circle of running bad and playing bad. Been there and it really feels shitty. Hope you break out of this next time you sit on a poker table. Cheers!
You are absolutely one of the top Vlog dogs out there! Your personality, your content, you are professional, personable, interesting, intelligent, and humorous!
That's for the honesty. It most be tough to put out a video when is going bad. That's the way it goes sometimes but I know you will turn this shit around. Good luck brother
How down to earth is this guy? Really appreciate his demeanor in this downswing. Just 100% class in the way he talks about his play, and poker in general. Rooting and expecting quick turnaround.
Appreciate the video mariano i too have been on a downswing 2 sessions in a row having flopped set over set it sucks when we run bad start questioning myself but love watching the vlogs I'm sure u will turn it round
When you pause the video for your analysis can you make a marker somewhere illustrating that video is paused? I keep skipping the video back n forth thinking the video is glitched
If Ryan were cheating, he wouldn't need to use a phone...but if you're playing in the game, you either trust him or you don't...and at the end of the day, you're really just trusting Hustler and the CA gambling control commission (neither would risk it all for someone like Ryan or Nick)... There's a pretty decent chance he's just sitting in for a big Hollywood name that just flaked on him and he's waiting on texts for someone to take his seat
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience when you’re down in poker.. it’s definitely a tough game and can affect your mental decisions.. but keep on going and keep thinking positive and remember you’re one of the best high stakes poker player!! Stay humble and you got this!! Love your vlogs and love hustler live stream!! Peace😊
Good video. I gamble vicariously through you. I'm lying i still play and i learn a lot of strategy from channels like yours. Keep it up you're a very good player and the video quality is top notch.
I don’t usually commend, I silently enjoy the free content and laugh or get frustrated occasionally seeing some bad plays. Now, as a pro who is making his living in Europe in little bit tougher games, I want to thank you. Thank you for going there in pain on front of the camera to show the world how it feels. We all been there and we all came back stronger. Studying poker after losses feels like a personal battle. But we all come back stronger. So will you!
Mariano, mad respect for showing us the real truth and talking the the camera fresh right after the session even when thats probably the last thing you wanna do after another huge losing session. You are the boss.
Hard to see the leaks in such a high variance game as poker, but what I respect about Mariano is that he never reverts to blaming variance first. Tighten up the range a little and move down in stakes (if you must), and the poker gods will smile upon you once more.
I can definitely relate to "seems like it's been a while since I was able to make a big value bet." Sometimes you go so long, you forget what you're supposed to do when the cards actually come your way...
You know, bro I tell you one thing I just happen to be watching all your old videos. I’m on episode 40 and honestly I have no idea how you got to even been in possession to lose 300 K in a week but I would say that’s a pretty sweet life, look at the bright side you come really far
I noticed the subtle music in the backroung throug out the vid. Consisting on a slow drum kik, piano notes and smooth ambient sounds. Sometimes louder sometimes almost not audible but always there.
I'm watching this thinking that's me. When I'm everything goes wrong and the planets will align and I can do no right lololol. Thanks for the videos.......
Props for doing the talk right after the session. I recognise that pain on your face, I’ve seen it a million times in the mirror after too many sessions of running horrible and playing badly as a result. All the best getting back on track 👍
Why did you omit the hand where Dylan bluffed you with AQ against your pair of tens? I thought that was a notable hand and was surprised that a player of your caliber was not able to find the call. In all seriousness it goes back to what you said at the end of the vlog, that it's hard to play well when you're not running well.
No where near a fraction of this kind of money. But 5 months out of 8 months so far, I have struggle with the down swings and the losing sessions. The mental aspect of it hit hard for me. Thank you for being so raw with your thoughts and emotions.
You play at HCL again this week. Hopefully the third time will get you back in the win column. You are just experiencing some bad variance. Keep your head high and the sun running will hopefully return soon. Peace!
Well you only ended up losing 20k on HCL this week. Kinda card dead. You didn't try to bluff as much during this session as well. Some new players at the table too. At least you minimized your losses.
Ryan’s turn bet with the 9 on the flush board is textbook low stakes players “scared to bed scared to check” sizing. Even with a full house they bet more…. at least like half pot on that turn and he bet 1/3rd.
Damm bro..this is the most REAL thing I have scene in a long time😢..Dude..go deliver a few pizzas and go back to Morongo and fuck around low limit have fun..Smash the frickin drums..keep your head high I know how it feels on auch smaller level and remember you are loved kid❤
When I saw the title of your short film.....I had a bad feeling. Stay cool, stay strong! I am a huge fan boy and I love and appreciate the drama! Pura Vida from Costa Rica!
Question: when you buy in for 100K, do you swipe your debit card ? Can they take cash for that much amount or even a take credit? And when u return the chips. How they pay you back? Cash ?
It was pretty wild how like the first 3 major hands your opponents just had full houses. IDK how you're supposed to lay it down all the time thinking 'well what if they have full houses?' Seems like a really unlucky night but nothing at all 'rampage style.' What can ya do? Love ya Mariano, keep it up!
