Excellent example of how a skilled person can buy an inexpensive strat and upgrade it with inexpensive parts in order to turn it into an outstanding instrument. The resulting guitar can become even better than an expensive top of the line strat. A player can make his existing guitars play and sound much better after purchasing some tools and performing some repairs and upgrades. Learning to solder and fix/upgrade guitars is something that can be of inestimable value to any player. It us easy, fun, and very rewarding. Beautiful guitar. Great sounding. Thank you.

I bought that exact pickguard from Musiclily just for a test in my strat and I endend up selling my Fender Noiseless pickguard because these cheap Amazon pickups sounds like heaven. The only BIG issue I encountered is that these pickups were microphonic as hell, so I had to wax pot them. As it was my first attempt to wax pot a pickup.. so I endend up melting one 🫠. So I found an old single coil from my first guitar ever that was lying around in my room for too much years and I put it in the middle position. Honestly it's the best tones I've ever had! The thing is a beast that can shine in every styles.🎉

I bought this set just for the hell of it, expecting thin and scooped tone. I was totally surprised at how good the pups sounded. They spec at @ 9k and have a excellent, clear single coil tone with boosted mids, very similar to the Narrowfield pups on my PRS Swamp Ash Special. I am very impressed. Very quiet too. You won't get true single coil sound out of any humbucking or noiseless pickup. These do have a decent quack in position 2 and 4. You can get some pretty high output single coils if you want more power in the bridge, but not a humbucker. Noiseless give you as close as you can get to true single coil, and can be had in various outputs. GFS (GuitarFetish.com) have multiple options. I believe Seymour Duncan still makes a high output single coil as well. Hope this helps.

@benpowersguitar 3 года назад
@@saffwannzShort Answer: Get a decent amp and a decent guitar. You don't need to go super cheap or expensive. My Marshall MG15FX & Jackson Dinky JS32 totaled $480 before tax. Long Answer: Cheaper guitars tend to have pickups that get muddy sounding at higher gain & distortion, and may sound a little thin or bright on clean channels. Cheaper amps can rattle, or may sound thin or a little muddy and onboard effects may be absent or sound just okay. I would say get a decent 15-25w practice amp. Marshall, Fender, Boss and Blackstar are my favorites in the $140-250 price range. Then get the best guitar you can, that you like for the money left in your budget. Guitars can be upgraded, amps not so much. I would look in the $200-300 range guitars. Squier Affinity, Ibanez RG421 & similar models, Jackson Dinky JS series & even Schecter have a decent $300 or less guitar. I have a $180 Marshall MG15FX that I use all the time, and love my Jackson & Squier guitars that are $300 or less.
