@@twlie55 Well yeah, Im not saying otherwise. But there's more to it than just "hurr durr gold expensive", applying gold leaf to food isnt easy. It takes time, and skill, and they gotta pay their staff for that, and *thats* where it racks up the price

Does it add a minute or two to the process? Sure. But this isn’t like a massive labor sink. Gold foil is pretty forgiving because you can generally patch it with more foil, especially on an uneven surface and nobody will see where you did it. Gold is literally just a “hurr during gold expensive” gimmick in food. The labor cost is minimal compared to the up charge. There’s a bar in NYC that sells 1000 dollar gold chicken wings. It’s literally a 20 dollar plate of wings made like any other chicken wing and then dusted with gold dust from a pizza cheese shaker. Maybe 5-10 bucks worth of gold. Most gold food is like that.

JOSH and NICOLE!!! I HAVE A FOOD SUGGESTION FOR YOU TO TRY!!!! So recently a localized burger chain called Culvers, released a burger here in wisconsin a few days ago that was ORIGINALLY only a April Fools Joke, of them released a new burger called the "Curderburger". It's basically a burger with a cheese curd patty on it. I personally wasnt able to try it, it was a 1 day only thing they decided to make reality. The lines were so long, n most places were sold out before 11AM. I'd love to see your interpretation of the curderburger, or culvers smash burgers. Tho that's more for George Motz

That patron isn't aged in oak barrels it is rested in oak tanks for 30 days. Less wood contact and short duration is why it doesn't pick up color or flavor like other spirits that are truly aged in barrels. Big difference, they have several offerings from the Gran Patron line that are aged in different barrels.

Triple distilled alcohol is like saying "this guitar is made of wood", it means nothing as lots of things are triple distilled, and the more you "have to" distill something is usually because it didn't taste good to begin with, so you had to distill those nasty flavors out. In case you don't know, Patron is fine, but it's like Johnny Walker or Smirnoff, it's just branding and mad-men hype that makes it "special".
