Here I am renting a tiny apartment for $1200 a month in Portland, Oregon USA surrounded by homeless people and crime galore, I am seriously considering moving to Mexico and jumping around for a couple years since I can work anywhere with a wifi and single again! Thanks for the inspiration.
Just some advice I live in Southern Idaho and housing and rent going up but some small towns still might have cheap rent. My rent 400. A month and has never gone up. Also in some places you can by land 1000. Acre but alot of these places are just land.
@@beecool2984 We are 10 hours away from the beach only 7 hours if you live on the border we have nice lakes a stone throw from Oregon and Washington also Canada and Montana. Close to Wyoming and Utah on the borders. I could care less if people stop moving to Idaho less people is more for Idaho.
What are you waitin for, I thought, that’s plenty of money, I from mecsicou, she could save a lot of money if she cooks, like sea food is nice and fresh, and some restaurants once or twice a week, maybe like 200 dollars on food, and you can spend whatever you want in tours around islands etc, night clubs, whatever you want with the rest, so think about it, I realized that 1500 Is what you pay only for the rent.
Marie Blyden, Surprisingly there are still good deals in her neighborhood and often available spaces in her complex. Most foreigners don't want to live in a neighborhood that far from the tourist zone.
@@miguelperez8814 , Yes I do pay taxes. RU-vid automatically calculates my income so for me it's an easy process. I also like to support local, non profit organizations wherever I am living. I believe in supporting the local community.
I love everything about Dez's apartment. The layout and decor, the cozy outdoor patio, the location and view from those beautiful windows; all for $300/month! And her gorgeous kitty adds the sweetness. Puerto Vallarta is one of our favourite places to visit. It's beautiful and the people are friendly.
Welcome to Mexico 🥰 My only recommendation if you’re planning on moving to Mexico is PLEASE don’t forget to break the ice and mix with the locals and also learn some Spanish! Most of the foreigners stay in their foreigner’s bubble and miss out from a wonderful experience. Also as a sign of respect to the locals 😁
yo as a sign of respect is it cool if mexicans that move to the US learn some english so they can mix with the locals as well or am i a racist for asking?
@@MrStayAlive “Yo” they do learn English or at least they really try their best to communicate in English when they’re interacting with English speaking people. If they choose to speak Spanish to their family members and you don’t like it, that’s another story. Anyway, English is not even the official language of the United States, is not in the constitution. Did you know that or do I have to teach you your own country’s history ?
@@ricochet2769 Spanish isnt even the official language of mexico it was braught there by the same people that killed everyone native to that place and enforced their religion on the people, same as in the states. All i did was ask a question you are the one implying I would be upset for them to speak their native tongue to their familys or implying that they dont try their best to learn english. i never said any of these things. you are proving my point here and you dont even realize it. The double standard is real. i asked a simple question. if i ask people to learn english as a sign of respect. thats how you put it. if i ask people to show me respect by learning my language is that racism or bigotry. or is it only classified as such bc im white? I find it offensive that you ask me to learn a language out of respect. I show respect in many ways I dont need to learn a language to do so. language is for communication. actions show respect. still waiting fo an answer to that question too. simple yes or no
@@MrStayAlive I won’t responde to your questions because the content in your answer tells me that you’re either a teenager or someone who is not educated to talk about this. So yeah, read some books first.
@@ricochet2769 escribe braught en lugar de brought, no sabe ni ingles el animalito, por supuesto que nunca va a aprender otro idioma, no el da el cerebro jajaja
I am Mexican and live in San Diego, but Puerto Vallarta looks beautiful and so affordable, with $300 here is not even enough for my monthly car gas. You guys have it all!
Nice find. We had a bit bigger apartment in a tourist town in Estado de México and paid about 3 times that. But, we had 2 bedrooms, a covered terraza overlooking the lake and got to watch the most amazing sunsets. The inside of this apartment reminds me a bit of ours. Not as rustic a location but, 10 minute walk to town. Loved it.
We pay $700 a month for a 2+2 with partial ocean view in 5-D, BUT we have hills to climb so sometimes we take a taxi back up for only 50 pesos! Two people can live pretty well for $1600-1700 a month here!
Constance....back in December of last year. The rent would have been $1200, but a build is going up right in front of our living room balcony, so we will lose the beautiful ocean view (still have view from both bedrooms at least! Yes, rents have gone up since then.
My only problem with your channel is that you expose the reality of living in Mexico in that is safe & awesome. I prefer the the negative views on Mexico so it stays a hidden gem - nice & cheap for a very long-time.
Thanks for all the sweet comments everyone 🥰 you can read more about my lifestyle & Puerto Vallarta Activities on my travel blog: www.mydeztination.com Instagram: @mydeztination & @puertovallartaactivities
Hola Dez! This is Kelly from the bookstore. I was scrolling through RU-vid when I saw your beautiful face pop up. I loved seeing where you sit to read the books. It helps to remind me that they are going with love to new homes and adventures of their own. We miss you. Come back in soon to say hello!
Hi Jim would love to meet you ! My husband and I are thinking of living in Puerto Vallarta for a few months and would love your guidance. Please message us
I moved to the Arctic. The north pole. I built my home using available material. I don't need bug repellent. Or a lawnmower. Only have a few fake plants. No sun for six months. And then no darkness for six months. Kinda like two seasons instead of four. I freeze dry my laundry. No heating bills. And I never worry about rain mud and floods. With some life adjustments I can live here on next to nothing.
Omgosh!!! I love this. I’m exploring ideas for the coming future especially since America has gone down the toilet. Also exploring vanlife so I can travel all the places I’ve never been in America but, again, this country is sucking more every day.
@@isauratorres9447 I've had all that stuff happen in the US too. Personal anecdotes don't mean anything when it comes to determining the facts as to if a place is safe or not. Use crime statistics or data from a reputable source, not hearsay.
I spent a month in PV . My buddy rented a huge beautiful house in Conches Chinas. The house came with a maid/chef who showed up every morning and cooked us breakfast! I had the time of my life ...Beautiful, fun, inexpensive and safe.
@@isauratorres9447 this was back in 1999...The house had two stories, 8 rooms , a really nice landscaped pool , maid-cook , ocean views and was only $2000 month !!
Dez defiinately has her plan together. Great interview! I've been to Mexico a few times and definately would like to check out Puerto Vallarta as a future retirement destination. It's all about planning and I love the food. I could see myself sitting outside the veranda enjoying the view with a good cigar and two fingers of Mezcal. Keep up the good work and all the best from Germany.
Hallo Dave71 , Thinking the same thing. From NRW. Today is 28 October 2021. Lived in the USA for 45 yrs and returned to Germany on Februar 2001 . Might attempt to vacation in Puerto Vallarta and make the move .
I just came back from vacation here!!! Soooooooooooooooo beautiful and the people are very very excited to share their culture. I'm definitely going back some day!!! Great video!!!
I will definitely be given 100 likes to this video. This woman she’s incredibly good vibes person. Loves the video, wish one day move to a place like Puerto Vallarta. I’m from State of Michoacán.
We have a time share in PV in the Conchas Chinas area. We always have a great time and sometimes had to extend our stay for few more days because it felt it was not enough. We love to walk it’s one way to keep us fit while vacationing. We love PV.
@@LivingOverseasTV -I’m going to be moving in about 6-7 months and I’ve been thinking about where I should go? It’s been a while, but I really enjoyed my time in PV, this ,ay have convinced me!
You want to live in PV....I moved from the shithole SF 5 yrs ago....could never go back to the terrible outrageously expensive, violent, dirty, unsafe US!
She is not only beautiful but got to have the most beautifulest hair! It is so pretty over there? So amazing ! Thanks for sharing! God bless you Dez and Jim! Please stay safe 🙏
this is exactly what i would prefer instead of living in the main city with all the tourist attraction. living with nature and the local people sound perfect to me. your video on puerto vallarta has been very informative.
Leone Dyson, Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. You would be amazed how living in a town like Puerto Vallarta and walking regularly will really help get you in shape.
You should try it for a month or two. She's in her forties by the the look of her and seems to be doing fine. Insurance is still cheap their if your under 65.🤷♂️
Another great video, Puerto Vallarta is looking better every video. I definitely am a "experiences" type of person. We have too much "stuff" anyway. I sent my fiance one of "Living Overseas TV" videos.....she said stop sending me videos unless you're ready to go LOLOL
DJRolo813, Haha...I agree with your fiance. Time to get serious! Thanks for supporting the channel and I hope you are getting the information you need. I don't think living overseas is the best decision for everyone but if you are an "experiences" type of person, than I think you will find it amazing and life changing. Good luck!
I'm Dez over heels in Love with Your positivity ,beauty and outlook on life !! Living life in your own terms and earning a living doing what You love GREAT for it only You but for all of Us 👍😃🤗
Just have to say it! She is a very beautiful lady and seems to be a very pleasant person as well! Her friends are very lucky people, to be sure! I can only dream of being one!
Hi Dez. I am from México City which I love(the nice parts) and also I enjoy big cities like Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla, Queretaro etc. But now with the pandemic I try to look for smaller towns to visit and there are tons in México, by the way I've never been to Puerto Vallarta, it's true. Thx a lot for sharing this video so I can know a bit more about my country. Best wishes.
Unbelievable that Dez got that gorgeous apt. for $300/mo. . . . quite frankly, it's hard to believe that it's a typical price at just a 10-minute walk to the beach. Can you do a follow-up with Dez to find out how "bad" it is during the rainy months? I.E., I'd like the "good, the bad & the ugly."
I rent a 900 square foot apt in the Seattle Metro for $3200/month. holy shiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeee I would definitely consider living here. Great vid, thanks for sharing.
I was born in a small town approx 1 1/2 hrs from P.V. I visited once 20+ years ago and never again till last year. It is such a great place ! This year I returned and spent time in P.V and met many USA 🇺🇸 retirees living their best lives! I can't wait to join them. The US dollar goes a long way!
it is just as expensive here .....in some cases even more so than the usa ... not cheap at all ..... besides as a foreigner you are targeted and constantly being ripped off by the horrible people here ...
Wow love her place very cool and only $300!! I’m planning on moving to Mexico soon but still not sure where. Vallarta was my first choice but it’s gotten pretty expensive to rent so it’s nice to see this. Looking at Bucerias now.
Consider other city options like Valle de Bravo, Ajijic, San Miguel de Allende. Beach? Bucerías is good option indeed. Consider Zihuatanejo also. Bienvenid@ a Mexico!
@@claudiorodriguez7661 thank you I’ve been looking at a couple of those like Ajijic but I was thinking it’s a really older retired crowd. I’m not young but not to old. I’m going to look into the others so I appreciate it!
I don't think you mentioned how Dez found her apt. Have prices gone up in 2023? Also, how does she do grocery shopping during the rainy season given there are so many stone steps? looks lovely.
I have walked your neighborhood. I have been everywhere in P.V. and the wider area as well. Given I have a car, I could live further away from the Romantic Zone, but I usually stay there and last time I stayed on the river, too. Taking my dog out to pee, I was accosted by a lanky guy with a rock, but the dog returned from her duty and immediately ran after this guy - ran him 2 blocks away before returning. I like being a bit away from things and yet close, too.
There's a little crime and corruption most places you travel; however, there's also locals bending over backwards to help you, too. The Mexican People are very honest and hard working, but some are unskilled and uneducated, too. You need to take the good and the ugly anywhere you go - I see most of the good in people.
Oh my goodness she is so beautiful and us Latinos really appreciate that she loves our country and respects it! Yes she is right we do take care of one another and I hope that pisa she's with takes great care of her as well.
I remember seeing this video a couple of weeks ago and I remember you lived along the river. Is your place alright ? Everything looks devastated by the river. Please upload a video… hope things are alright for you. I saw what happen to Angalo de nopali
Nice place. Making the move somewhere myself sooner rather than later. Just came back from Oaxaca. Loved Oaxaca City. Mexico is a wonderful country. Nice people , great food. Love it there
Well I know this vid is over 3 years old but as a vet Mexican traveler, I've driven to PV 3 times from San Diego, to MAZ, Guadalajara, Mexico City and of course visited the pyramids, loved it and was in country for a month. I've taken the ferry from Mazatlan to Cabo and from PV to La Paz, IIRC, long ass rides ja ja! Used to drive the Baja Peninsula for every New Years with a buddy, we both had jet skis and talking about a golden opportunity, no one in those places back then knew a thing about them, we should've begged and borrowed to start rental businesses in those places, obviously hindsight is better than 20/20. Suerte y salud neuva Amiga!
Hello, I am going to live for 5 months from November first this year. Can you tell me where to say decent price with safety area and quiet neighborhood? Last year I stayed one of the apartment in romantic zone, it was so noisy to sleep. It was pandemic so I got 400 dollars for rent without electricity and gas.
@@solmyson I’m staying in an Airbnb called Boana Torre Malibu. My particular room #605 is pretty quiet, and super cute with spectacular views. It’s about 3 long downhill blocks to malecón de los muertos. I loved it. The only draw back for me was the uphill as I have bad knees. Otherwise, it’s quiet and sunset views are amazing. Two baths and one bedroom and private wifi. I got it for $53 a night, but if here 5 months, that might be high. There’s a few other nice looking condos on this street called Amapas.
@@solmyson happy to share my experience. Again, it’s a 7 or 8 story tower I can’t begin to share how beautiful the view is from the balcony. It’s 100 % safe . They have security and Both front and back entrance requires codes to get in or out. I wish you luck. I’ll try and ad link here but not sure RU-vid will allow.
Hey Dez and Jim: GREAT VIDEO!!!! I love your place Dez and it is a great option. Are we not the luckiest people on the planet? I love living in Vallarta and appreciate Jim and his talent for putting together all the great videos on PV so far! I look forward to the upcoming ones for sure!
I would LOVE to connect with Dez and/or Jim. We are thinking of moving down from Washington state in late 2022. This apartment style looks like our cup of tea. How do you locate apartments like this? Thank you for taking the time to put this together!
I lived in Mexico in the 90s. I will always say there’s nothing way better than Mexico’s houses. Real houses made out of cement and break or river rock. Houses in United States cost a fortune basically your whole life just for a paper plates. That the end of the day you still don’t own the land
its a wonderful way to experience different country , and look at all the big aroid plants just growing in her living space. Aroid plants are big trend in the US. I want to try living there for a month.
My Uncle purchased a beautiful house in the romantic zone it’s beautiful! I Love everything about Puerto Vallarta except those noseeums 😂 The $2.00 fish and shrimp 🍤 tacos 🌮 are to die for!
Agree, I think he filmed her ass more then the apartment. He loved the shots of her walking up the steps. The camera was right on her behind the whole time lol
@@susanmaguire9009 and all the other bugs, lizards and spiders. That would be a problem for me. Severe humidity doesn’t work well with asthma either. But it is beautiful!
I’m not sure I would live there exactly, but I love this and I would totally do this - somewhere in Latin America. Mexico is also convenient back to the US. I just don’t know where I’d go yet. It would take me a while to find that fall-in-love- place that just feels right long term. I’ve been going to a Peru a lot (it’s definitely not there) lately, and will eventually continue to explore Chile and other South American countries. Kudos to this gal, good for her. Can’t beat the tranquility. Plus she’s gorgeous!
