I feel like Andrew, from episode to episode, is just taking on more and more of Steven's energy. his smile gets bigger and bigger with every dish tastes (or makes) its so wholesome
seeing andrews journey from steven pulling him essentially from behind a desk which he was noticeably not used to being behind a camera to now where he is clearly loving life and seems genuinely happy is a great thing to witness
Yeah, they've definitely taken on each other's personalities a bit from going on so many food adventures and spending so much time together. It's nice to see how their friendship has grown and evolved. From Andrew deliberately turning away from cheersing the food, to him now leading episodes and being much more energetic and excited
Honestly I’ve watched from the very start. I’ve watched him grow from stand offish and miserable too being in love with what he does and enjoying every bit of it.
Adam's reaction to the 2nd place was probably the LOUDEST/BIGGEST reaction from him that I've ever seen! DAMN! It's great to have you guys back! Love from the Philippines!
@@summonedtentacles6778 nop, ATE is a sub-brand EXACTLY for the purposes of attracting viewers who go 'buzzfeed, ugh' Smart of them to split it, we get to watch only what we want out of Buzzfeed, they still get high views, win win IMO
I’m a fan of these smaller price point differences. Even in a tough economy, I’d 100% try to stop by every single place in this episode if I ever found myself in the neighborhood
I know that some people will likely take issue with the fact that price differences between each dish aren’t necessarily ‘drastic’ anymore, but I actually like this new concept more. The fact that all of these dishes are affordable helps expose an entirely new audience to types of dishes and cuisines that they previously may not have tried, as opposed to a super expensive dish simply having gold or caviar on it without adding to its actual appeal
it doesnt expose anything, look at the locations they went for each one. it was region price based for clicks. Everyone is saying they lost the buzzfeed money, but no its still just for the misleading clicks.
@@nathanleburg5729 Fact is, you clicked. So who is the sucker in the end. No one cares really, these videos are about seeing what is out there and light entertainment. U want to find good restaurants go to tripadvisor,, its meant for that. Must be a joyful existence though, acting like you are some kind of Walmart sherlock holmes, uncovering the great conspiracy behind is it worth it. They do it for money, yes, we know sherlock.
I love how this series has evolved to feature great foods from different cultural perspectives, not just different price points. In other seasons, they might go to some opulent restaurant to try a $100 pork dish. Instead, they go and get some authentic Haitian food for $19. This is what food culture is all about!
a moment of growth for worth it, where instead of focusing on a high price, the focus is solely on finding the best spot to highlight for a episode. furthermore, no one was clickbaited by wanting to see what a $777 hamburger looks like or whatever. i hope it stays like this
Not sure what it is but I really like the three chefs/owners they’ve found this episode. Don’t get me wrong, they’ve always found such incredible and engaging people. But for some reason, I really love the vibe of the ones here. As always, well done gentlemen!
Rodney Scott is an absolute treasure. I’m so glad to see him in some more content. He’s been through a lot with the business and I’m glad he’s still doing great!
@@kevinpenfold1116 His father passed away fairly recently and the original location burnt down last year if my memory is correct. Edit: His Father passed away just over 2 years ago and two of the locations have suffered fires in the last few years if my info is correct.
charlie from fritai's voice, his hands gestures and his way of explaining his dish was so good , involving and expressive...i watched that part 3 times already... I am obsessed...
Seeing Andrew's unbridled joy grow alongside this series has been really special. Watching his passion for food deepen and grow and his absolute delight at hearing people share their own passion - I hope they continue to chase this energy. It's really lovely and pleasing to watch.
Whole Hog Sandwich, just the amount of time that goes into the process and for them to do it regularly just speaks to their passion. Eat at Fritai's owner detail about his dishes and the backstory was so informative and wholesome.
Super glad the "high-priced" dish is 19$ and apparently super worthy of its price instead of some over-the-top caviar truffle gold oyster for 5k. Made me really crave these dishes :)
see this is the take i appreciate seeing! i saw so many people they hated the “cheapening” of the episodes and i just don’t understand a downside to showing as many accessible small businesses as possible since this is clearly used as great advertisement for these businesses!
I kinda want to live vicariously and see the true differences between a super expensive dish that we can't afford vs the cheapest. Not a fan of the format where they're just reviewing 3 different restaurants. How do we even know the $19 pork dish is representative of the best that's out there. I'm sure there's plenty of restaurants that serve $19 pork dishes out there that's better than what they reviewed in this episode
@@Yang1 The most expensive options were rarely ever the best option though. More often than not it was just mid price point quality (which was still amazing), just with some gold flakes and truffle sprinkled on top. I was kind of getting sick of it tbh so I think this is a refreshing take! They may move back towards high roller dishes for the expensive option once the season gets rolling again and they start getting their funding/budget back though, which is an important factor to consider.
@@Yang1 different strokes for different folks I guess! I get your point with that, though I think the past few years have left me tired of things that are so lavish and pricey haha
That on its own made me save the video because it looked SO GOOD and now I either have to try making it myself after I learn more about it or I just have to travel somewhere for it
The way everyone talked about the food they make was so masterful and clear, excellent selections. The final guy really impressed me with his variety of ingredients and how amazing it looked all-around. Great presentation
As a ridiculously picky eater, I appreciate how much pleasure y'all can get from the wide array of foods you eat. I try new foods, but I usually have a massive mental block or physical reaction that prevents me from really enjoying them the way you do. So I truly appreciate seeing your perspective. Thank you for sharing!
Actually this makes me realize-- was it really $19 for that whole dish? One plate? Because that's a lot of food for $19 out of a good restaraunt in N.O.
You guys are amazing - HIGHEST quality filming, you focus on the place, the people, the food, your commentary is to the point and sprinkled with tasteful bits of your personality, I loved your series back when it was going strong on buzzfeed, really happy you guys are back, this is awesome to watch while eating! haha. And I like that you took 3 different price points that aren't that wildly different for once, it really gave me a nicer view of what can be done with the product itself rather than having one restaurant lather it in gold truffle caviar cream or something. Keep it up and much love to you all!
This is awesome. These cities brought me precious memories. I lived in Raleigh for almost a decade, I went to the STATE and worked in Raleigh after college. I traveled to CHS almost once a month for work before. This is an amazing episode. Thank you for this.
I love Steven's, "I didn't realize burnt wood becomes coals." lol. Here is your daily trivia. CHARCOAL FACT! So most people in America are familiar with Kingsford Charcoal. What most people don't know is that Mr. Kingsford actually worked for Henry Ford who had tons of charcoal left over after the production of his model T cars. Mr. Kingsford saw it's potential and Henry Ford let him have the charcoal as it was usually waste, and now we have Kingsford charcoal as a household name. Much love and keep on keepin on J.
We started out watching the series where the drastically different price points were one of the biggest attractions. It's evolved to a point where actually pretty much all 3 places are worth it, and we love it even more
I love seeing rodney! Ive seen him in Brad Leone's its alive and its one of my favorite episodes. wish i could get there someday to try some of his food.
I’m from Pikeville NC where Nahunta Pork Center is a staple here! I’m so glad to finally see them get recognition because it is such a small family environment!
The first restaurant reminds me how my Grandma would make the biscuits and gravy as well as the GIANT pancake with the crispy edges. She would also let us have a little bit of coffee to taste. I wonder if she still remembers this❤.
The fact that Adam actually said "the pork is good" out load is the absolute best compliment that the whole pork bbq place could have EVER had! Adam rarely speaks!!
The casual premise is "we compare 3 dishes at different price point but share main ingredient" but the debt in this show is that they highlight all these different resturants from all over and not just one dish but what other things they do and drinks and atmosphere. It really is a restaurant showcase show with awesome hosts that never criticize but always find something really nice to say about the place/food/people they visit. This really is a wholesome show!
I love the way they both take time to give real compliments and think about what they're eating. This is my favorite show on RU-vid. Great content and a great channel. Love to see growth in their friendships too
It was so nice to see someone make sausage gravy the rights way. My GMa luckily passed her recipe down to my wife and we have it atleast once a month. Always fantastic seeing people try it for the first time, never leftovers left...lol
The Haitian chef really hooked y'all up. That food looks so amazing!! Reminds me of home. I'm so glad you guys got to try it! Your plate was truly complete. 😍🤤🤤
YESSSSSSSSS. Spread our cultural culinary skills. I’m so proud to be a Haitian and seeing my people educate and blowing people minds with different ethics with our food. Your doing great boss 🤙🏿🇭🇹
this has been my favorite episode so far and i said that last episode LOL i just love seeing people passionate about food and their culture and sharing it. it’s so beautiful and warming to the soul
