I just unsubscribed , my dad and ran through a faze on a 32 ford 3w. He questioned hard my ideas which and way to go with it shook his head said some things but gave in. In the end at the our first Goodguys show we received a Strret Rodder Magazine TopTen award and thats the first time I ever saw my dad cry, he was SO proud. Car went on to magazine shoots and many awards at every show it did. That forever changed our relationship to great. Instead of yelling at me he turned me loose.❤️him for that and RIP dad 🙏

That build was doomed the moment you thought that car was a good project to start with.

This video shows how much time Madd Chad spent with his son, NONE. Chad is so much into himself and everyone doesn't have a place in his world. This is how he treats Jolene and only uses her like he does everyone else.

It's your fault Chad, you aren't a good leader, you didn't watch what your untrained employee did and you have the nerve to blame him.

No matter what your son did, you did not handle that situation correctly. Doubt he will go out of his way to help you again for quite some time. Also a good way to make your kid hate fab work and cars. Not cool. Gene Windfield wouldn't react like this to one of his students. Obviously the kid needs to be taught more not yelled at and shot down. Fathers are there to build their son's up and support them. Hope this is just all for show cuz if not I feel bad for your son. Shot down by your dad on tv when your trying to help.

Everyone makes mistakes. The key is how you recover from them. The young man tried to impress you, and you, Chad, probably never told them your game plan because of your control issues and had no idea the direction you were going with this build. I think this is an older build; however, by the timeline, Jolene, you probably just put it out there. I think Chad has learned a little since then, but he should be seeing help. It never hurts to get help.

I went through a bit of a pretty bad Pinto faze in the late 80s into the 90s..I had several of em that was solid and ran strong for just a 4cylinder 4speed manual trans. I ended with a V8 swapped Pinto that I thought came factory like it was cause it was done like a factory job. I gave 2000 for it in 94 and got 5000 back out of it. I kinda wish ida kept it cause it's still around but it's been in storage for god only knows how long. I had a red 70 or 71 that either kept up with V8s or outrun em by a fender or a car length or two and I still like Pintos, wagons and all...

Chad's the only builder I've seen use piano hinges for doors and build a car that you can't access the engine. On the show he was building these cars for buyers, I thrn saw he say on u tube he don't sell his cars standing in a warehouse with all the crap he built. He probly can't sell his crap.

Bondo boy chad has yet to build a car that anyone would actually want to own. 90% dont drive. And the ones that do are dangerous for the road. The metal work is junk with poop welds grinded so thin they need a inch of bondo to keep it together. It blows me away that people watch this micky mouse builder. When guys like Runge or wray schelin and so many more get half the views but a 1000 times the talent.

Praise in public, chastise in private is the mantra of a good manager. No one enjoys seeing anyone chewed out like that. It is not a positive thing, and it's partialy your own fault!

I would have him fix it. He just learned the hard way, eager to do good and get ahead only to get a bitch slap back. Remember, we don’t eat our young, we teach and nurture them. I weld on the cars in my shop with one exception. If someone wants to learn they can work on floors first on a cheap car. If they screw it up they will learn even more as they fix it. Metal work on the outside body should be done by a good welder or yes, an inexperienced person will warp some panels and it can take hours to straighten out a mess. After a few floor repairs that come out good with minimum warping they can weld on their own cars and continue to improve. At some point they think they have it all figured out and want to weld some repairs on their own car. They will learn the tricks of minimizing warping and recognize quickly they need to make a correction before they create a mess that will cost hundreds of dollars lost in man hours. Their car and problem to fix, perfect way for them to learn and a good opportunity to teach best practices to fix warpage on the repairs. I have restored worse cars than that for rust, but never a Pinto. Pintos don’t sell here for much money. Most of them bottom rotted like yours and were crushed. Good luck, way to make cool stuff and turn your ideas into customs.

i think you handled the set back pretty well we all learn from our mistakes but i think this 1 will be a biggie for colton but he can man up and learn from it like we all do heck i ruined 30 000 dollars worth of expensive titanium at my first machine shop job and believe it or not the shop forman went to bat for me to keep my job and i worked for that fell for 33 years

By far the dumbest project he probably ever did he's not that good of a mechanic he's a pretty good artist but all of his cars are junk none of them are tidalable in Canada because he altered them so therefore he got a bunch of junk art pieces And this was a long time ago old news under the bridge PS Not a very good dad at all

Instead of harping on him,......and speaking to him like a 6 year old,....you should lay out why what he did set you back. Then,...... explain to him he must take responsibility and accountability for his actions. No matter how well meaning he was. Making him stack wood shows him your not capable of laying out a plan of action for him to follow.. Just my opinion.
