Thanx a lot. Nobody will get the quality of a 600 $ Power House from a 30 $ Handheld. But with these low budget devices you often get a lot for your small money. So love it or leave it!
This is one of my all time favorite gaming handheld systems ever! Very overlooked due to the price, but it packs a punch! With a few adjustments and modifications, it's great.
Mine should be here in a couple days. I'm going to pull it apart and experiment with different components to try to improve the feel of the controls. I bought it to play in flight bc I have watched every movie on the in flight entertainment.
A lot of people would agree with you. I spent 2 weeks with it. I have 2 of them. If the XU10 wouldn't have been released I would have liked this handheld more I think. I am thinking about modding an R36S however and that might be fun.
@@JaviPlayRetro original charging cable+ charging adapter 5V - 1500 mA (1.5 A).Charging full time : 2h 30 minutes.Dont use stronger adapters. Also, maybe the problem is in electric wires in yours house.Change place of charging
I tried the rs35 the build quality was so cheap didnt like at all i exchanged it with Ambernic 35xxx the difference is day and night in terms of quality really enjoyed the ambernic its my main console i take it everywhere
Im waiting for the one to get nicer color options. Then testing it. I dont think the 16:9 screen makes a lot of sense to me but I dont have it to say for sure..
Yeah, I've heard that CPU and buttons of R43 Pro are nice, but I'm still not sure about the size of RAM memory. Box says 2GB I think but I've already heard some people discussing the RAM size from labeling on the memory chip on motherboard and they figured out there should be only 768MB of RAM. The only way how to determine the right size is from the firmware, but no one has managed to do it yet. Also custom firmware would come handy, as the stock experience and performance is not that good.
Hello. I would like to ask a question. This device has OTG output. Would it be possible to connect it to a screen by connecting it to a HUB with HDMI output? One of the product photos on Aliexpress seems to indicate this possibility. I just subscribed to the channel, greetings from Brazil!
Frankly, the more I play mine, the more I feel like those hating on it are just whiners and complainers. People can nitpick just about anything, on any device. Stop whining and go spend REAL money, if this doesn't make you happy. The R36S definitely isn't perfect, but I'm in total agreement with Javi - it doesnt deserve the hate it gets.
@@JaviPlayRetroI think it's the battery it comes with. Mines looks different, it's gray and does have sticker on it. On the console it says 3500mah but the battery itself shows 3000mah, it has the built in chip to turn off from overcharging. Got mines from aliexpress too. Maybe different seller has different battery?
got one come'n in 2 days i payed 48$ it's cool i'm 39 y/o and this was every gamer 90's kid DREAM bro it's sick and i'm going to mod the crap out of it makes my switch trash be give'' n them mine and playing this
Hey, your videos have been great for this little handheld. But I wonder if you can make a video to help me out. I have a custom curated box art collection. All .pngs. all named to match the corresponding roms. But I have no idea how to get them on this thing or where to put them so the system loads them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Create a folder in the corresponding system folder called images and place all those matching images in there. Then go into the settings and look for search for local art. Turn that on and then restart emulation station station. Then youll see all your boxart. Check out R36S master starter guide. I have a part in there how to do it.
@@JaviPlayRetro I just got it yesterday, I'm getting 2 new SD cards, I'm gonna try and watch ur video again tomorrow step by step, I just don't want to lose any of the games that it came with. Or do I need to update those games too?
Got two of these for my cousins at the price point of 50 bones each. Honestly, even for that price, it's a good deal. The buttons and Dpad don't feel super premium, but once you do the Dpad screw removal mod, it feels acceptable, imo. And if you're playing RPGs, then you aren't really even going to care about something like that, anyways. The fact it has the power needed to play mario 64 is also a huge plus. Though I couldn't get dreamcast games to work well on mine. Kept stuttering during FMVs. But I mean... I DID get persona 3 portable up and running on it. Seemed to run ok as far as I could tell. Nowadays for 50 I probably would have gotten them an original 35xx, but for 30, it's still an easy buy.
So much better than the xu10 since the xu10 currently doesn’t play nice with custom firmware. Buttons are switched which is a very bad issue for this device.
Really debating between the R36s, Anbernic Rg35xx (plus and h). Is the build quality of the R36s much different from the Anbernics? I just want something simple that can play old pokemon games (mainly GBA), that won't be e-waste after a year.
I think if you have the money, get the RG35XX Plus or H. They are definitely higher quality devices. Especially now you can get them on Aliexpress for really good prices.

This is E-waste, because you got a knockoff "Game Consoie" look between the L1 & L2 buttons... see that circle? You're missing a chipset from the original. I assume you took off the sticker but it would have said Game Consoie, without all the QA, RF and little logos etc on it Manufacturers are pumping out knockof R36S "Game consoie" when the real one is called "Game Console R36S" with alot more info on the sticker and a little audio chip (I think it is,) between those L1 & L2 buttons.... not a blank circle on the PCB. I have photos of both side by side if you would like me to share them.
the joysticks are different, the battery is black and not labelled vs silver with a sticker, the speaker is different... half of the hardware is different
sticks are worse, not sure what the difference is in audio or whatever goes on that circle for the pcb thats between my consoie & console. The speakers are different though 100%@@contadeusuario7806
if you have a circle on the PCB between the L1 & L2 buttons without a little capacitor or chip thats what I'm talking about. Also it will be called a game consoie@eusuario7806
These prices fluctuate all the time. It was at 35$ for over 2 months on Aliexpress. Its possible its growing in popularity and manufacturs are noticing.
