Just ordered this on amazon a few days ago for my canon m50. I used to use the saramonic mic til it was an issue blocking my pull out screen so i sold that one and saved up for this one! can't wait for it to come in!

Nice review! I've had this mic about a year now on my G85 and agree with all your points. I was curious to see if you found this mic to be "hotter" than the others? I have to set it to -10 or -12 db on my camera or risk clipping. I've got the new Deity Duo on pre-order. I can't wait until that comes.

Just looking at the waveforms in FCPx, it definitely seems a little bit hotter than the Rode and Comica mics. Not drastically, but a few dB louder. That's why I left the settings on the camera 100% the same other than just changing the mic.. I hadn't heard of the Deity Duo before, looks like a really interesting setup! Movo actually just messaged me after watching this video, and they say they have an updated version coming out that they're going to send my way, so there will be a video coming out about that in the next couple of weeks, hopefully!

Curious question. you mentioned that your phone doesn't work with this microphone assume that it doesn't have a headphone jack. Would this work with the headphone dongle for a smart phone?

It should, yes. If the dongle you have works with the microphone on your earbuds, it should work with a standalone microphone as well. You probably won't be able to hear what was recorded until you unplug the dongle in that case, but it should at least be able to record.

Nice. I actually got this for my Panasonic G7 after my film friend recommended it to me. I have no other eternal mics as reference but it made the sound quality of my videos way better. Great comparison!

Thanks! I used the G7 for several years, great camera, but if I remember correctly, the preamps were pretty noisy, at least on mine, so I switched to an external audio recorder. Just about anything is better than using the internal mics, though!

Shock mount seems to be a source of complaints as being brittle or easily broken from the Amazon reviews. Any comments on the durability of the shock mount?

I've only had it for a couple of days now, so I can't speak to how the shock mount will do long-term, but I didn't have any problems installing the mic in the mount, and a lot of the reviews seem to focus on that. It almost sounds like people are holding the shock mount by the sides instead of the thicker center ring, like I did at 2:07 in the video. One of the reviews mentioned a recommendation direct from Movo: "We recommend putting it onto the mic by pushing centrally under the circular portion of the shock mount that the mic sits in, as opposed to pushing from the sides or the base."

247 / 5000 Översättningsresultat Too much wall noise echoes. Without lots of empty walls around, it could be very good. Would have been interesting with carpet on the floor and curtains on the walls or in a normal living room and outdoors. Where it was with empty eco walls, it seemed too good.
