@@Stancehh I had to look it up since it's been awhile since i messed with hondas. We're both wrong. All the USDM civics from 96-00 were EJ's minus the SI (EM). Only the JDM 96-00 civics were EK's
Who else here because you stuck at home wishing this could be you in your own driveway with your own ride. Got youngster to little to be able to do any work for now, so, someone elses project is my little escape. Nice Em2 bro.
Doing budget jobs is harder than people think. I do body and paint work for a living, and its way easier with a full shop and all materials at your disposal. Being able to put out the quality of work this channel does takes real skill and planning, let alone planning to make it budget friendly. I give this channel nothing but respect, this is what the real car guys do with their time and money
Bro, I would tow ANY old Honda to your spot and let you have at it. Wouldn't care what you decided to do. I know I would love it. Your patience and attention to detail is crazy!!! Respect.
Half way through the video, I realized the amount of effort put in this mans content is unparalleled... Several weeks/months of working on the car itself. THEN once the build is complete, weeks/months of footage to rewatch and edit deciding what to keep and what to take out.... Can’t even imagine. Maaaaaad respect bro 🤙🏽🙏🏽. Alright now back to the rest of the video lol.
Taran damn you found a good deal in Florida, that’s actually crazy considering I’ve though about most jdm cars and they are usually really beat up or “ I kNoW wHaT I haVe” type of people overcharging everything :p
I like the way you put this video together. No talking, from start to finish, cool music... Makes it easier to watch cause you dont spend 10 minutes explaining every little thing while joking around with a friend acting all goofy like a 10 yr old. Im tellin you some of these other youtubers act like clowns.
These videos feel like they've been uploaded 5+ years ago, and I mean no offense with that at all. Today's videos feel overproduced and fake, and are stuffed with in-video ads and promotions (which is needed unfortunately in today's youtube world). These videos really have that retro RU-vid feel and it's great. Short simple clips, easy text to read, ncs music in the background, no bullshit. It takes me back to simpler times and I love watching these videos in their entirety. Keep it up man, I love your work!
The most impressive thing for me the amount of patience you have to pull this off. Most people would throw in the towel on the first day by the sheer volume of time it takes to do this.
I see no ventilation when applying the final paint. This will cause the paint floating in the air to settle down on your new paint causing a dull fuzzy finish. With that aside you did a fantastic job bringing that car back from the dead. Great job my friend.
Proper respiration equipment, even though it's DIY? Admitting his paint mistake and even going so far as to show it, and show him correcting it? Holding his shirt back when he was painting the engine bay so it didn't touch? I'd pay so much money to have this guy re-up my 94 EJ Coupe in Aztec Blue Metallic xD For real, amazing work as always man. Thanks for doing this. Please send me some of your initiative and drive so I can restore my '67 TBird lol
From this video we can all see that the body part, of this & our cars are not expensive. What is expensive is the hand job. Done to your car paying the person to do it thanks to this video I learn how to change my car from lights and save up 350$ dollars that the guy in the mechanics was charging me. Thanks a lot dude well done.
@@fc1jp444 bro with out a doubt the add for that roller shell here in Ontario would be...."3000$ FIRM, no low ballers, no tire kickers, I know what I got 😤" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’m telling you lol. Here in middle Tennessee where I’m from, even with a hole like that in the block it would still fetch $1500-2000 just because of how clean everything the shell is. The engines are what’s dirt cheap around here. You can pick up a y7 like he pulled for like a $100 if you’re in the loop with the Honda people around here. Hell even a decent b18c1 would be maybe $300 at most. A ragged out ej1 shell, or even and ej7 like this would still be about $1500-2000 though.
I liked the fact that he said "A "STICK" ist looking out of the block" As if there were people that would say :"naaah dude it's fine, no need for replacing."
I would love to see you do a a little geo tracker or Chevy tracker put together build watching you sand and paint brings so much satisfaction to my mind u make it look easy
Lmao that is kind of a random idea considering he does mostly Honda stuff but I'd kinda like to see something like that too. He's great at what he does and generally when I see a Chevy like you're talking about they're beat to shit but I can imagine Hector would manage to make one look super nice.
This was really cool to watch in it's entirety. I'm glad there are still so many guys out there that appreciate these cars as much as I do...and I'm 37 years old. I'm about $25k into my car...and still counting. I remember watching you back when you only had a few hundred subscribers with that old Prelude. Good to see you blew up bro!
@@sebastianschumacher9772 but the difference of spending $25k on an old car compared to spending $25k on a new car is literally new or old, newer technology, and usually less miles even that on a newer car. But $25k on a older Honda, that’s a lot of money. Spend your money how you want to but there were other options to spend $25k
# LEGEND trust an believe 1 million subscribers. Man you bring back child hood memories of my uncle showing me how to work on a car. Rest In Peace lost interest when god took him. Took a decade to get back into it. Started on my 69 mustang but it was to big of a project for me so I just parted ways but I now have an 89 lx 5.0 notchback I’m working on and picked up a Harley going to live life a quarter mile at a time !!!!
Stupid clean. I love how clean it is. I bought one of these for $800 and put $200 into it to get it to run properly, and I wanted to keep it but a friend needed a car so I sold it to them for $2500. 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️ I’m gonna buy another one. Right now I got a 2015 Civic SI Coupe and I love it.
I love what you do man. It’s crazy how we think things are so far out of our reach financially and then there’s legends like you to let us know what hard work can do for you I love you dawg.
I can just watch your videos back to back... the way you build and the details you inform the viewers is golden. Keep it up... do not change your format.. thank you again.
Awesome to see Civic’s being rebuilt. Quality job on a budget, you’ve got amazing skills. Keep doing what you do best, saving 90’s cars from the junkyard.😄👊
Dude, the level of detail and work ethic applied on this car is simply top of the line. I had one of those civics and got stolen unfortunately. Loved my car.
Just letting you know my husband loves watching your channel and you look like a honest hard working man and that's all he talks about is wanting to do is what you do with yours cars so please keep up your good work because people like you make give people hope that they can do it to love your work and if you ever sale any of your work please let use know because would buy a car from you in a heart beat so please keep making this RU-vid videos. Big love from. Lori/and husband Jason. AKA Turtle
I watch all your videos. Currently I’m rebuilding a 90 Honda prelude. I’m swapping the 5th gen engine into the 3rd gen. When the build gets tough I think about all the work you accomplished In that garage and it really motivates me. This is a great video and it was really informative. You’re amazing👍
Weather you love or hate Honda’s you have to respect the amount of work put into this. I drive VWs but you impress me every time with your restorations/rebuilds. Keep it up and stay safe.
This is what I wanna do I have a 2096 Saturn that has a dead engine and I don’t want to let it go. In the mean time I have a 99 Chevy Malibu that I learned how to replace the brakes spark plugs I redid the interior spark plug wires sanded and added tint to. One day I will do a engine swap and you along with other great youtubers helped me learn. Ty so much for sharing.
Thats it! You have convinced me to finally pull the trigger and buy a Honda to restore and build. I have little car experience and litlle money, but I know how to do the basics. Hopefully by doing this I learn more about cars and make my dream of building a car (on a budget) a reality.
Watching this 11 months later.. the work you did to this car will last countless more 11 months later. Very heartwarming and proud to watch this amazing video you have created. It's a beautiful car and whats more beautiful is the sweat, tears, and hard long hours put into it. Love the drive man, keep up the great work! 👍
I'm one paycheck away from buying my first car. A beautiful red 2012 Impreza hatch with black rims. I'm so excited. Edit: I just finished the video. You did a really awesome professional job on this car👍👍
@@donttrip2366 Unfortunately no. I went to see the car with very high hopes but upon further inspection and a test drive, it turned out to be a pretty problematic vehicle. I told him that it clearly had flaws that were not mentioned in his ad and that I'd still buy it for a much lower, more reasonable price. He was frustrated with me and declined. I do have a vehicle though. About a month ago I picked up a mint condition stick shift 2000 Toyota Rav4 with 70,000 kilometers on it. That's barely any. I am extremely happy with my purchase as I have been daily driving this car and it has had no issues and is very fun to drive. Also, insurance is very cheap for it. I'm glad I didn't get that Subaru. I love my little yota
@@guskelman3058 holy shit that’s a win! Congratulations, I have a lil Mr2 aw11 I’m tryna restore gotta give some love to Toyota’s

im feel so fookin happy watching this video, when i was a kid playing NFSU, buy a civic and customize him was my dream. Thanks for this video. Greetings from Brazil.
This will probably be buried but you’re amazing dude. Just a humble guy working on Honda’s who knows his stuff. Real inspiration for anyone who wants to get into restoration or mods. Keep uploading please. :)
Man, I feel like there is so much work here that it could be a 5 or 6 part series. I like that it's to the point and there is very little fluff. But if this RU-vid channel starts making money, there are a lot of people who would like to follow you through all of the detail of doing something like this. Also, people who are looking to do an engine swap or paint an engine bay might want a video just specifically on that with it in the title so they can find it.
I’m so glad I found your channel you’re such a great guy with pure talent. Goes to show you money doesn’t buy quality or a good build. A good man does.
7:55 Seems like the previous owner abused it a lot, until he broke the motor. It has a lot of burnt oil smoke stains on the bumper. It's good that it's yours now, also that the previous owner didn't wreck it.
Honda Civic is my dream car. I haven’t got a Honda Civic for 2 years. I borrowed my dad truck and that I can save money to buy 90s Honda Civic 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. I love your car build 💯👌. It clean and shine. Keep up the good work bud, stay safe and god bless y’all 🙏🏽
Hey are you still looking for a Honda Civic I. got a 91:for sale for $2500 if you are interested in it I live in Antioch you can reach me on messenger Chris pool
I'm down. Gonna try doing a J35 swap. Ever try driving an Odyssey, things are fast drop it in a civic and I know it gets even faster, eventually drop a turbo but for now the focus is on the engine.
This was extremely amazing as always my brother man I can’t wait to gain the Courage , have the time and space to dip into all that you do man I love hard work once the knowledge and determination is put behind that at something you love to do, it’s always gone be fun and the best outcomes!💪🏽💪🏽 you the man and shout to the paint guy and camera man too y’all MVPs as well team work make the dream work!
I live in Romania and to me being a car guy in the States seems pretty cheap referring your guys' market/economy i might say I love how the car came out and I wish I could buy a Honda so cheap out here for my taste i think the car needs just some tint for the windows and a low-profile roof/trunk spoiler and it's perfect keep it up my dude!
Look into Cuban mechanics. Because of the trade ban between us and Cuba they have quite an impressive collection of mechanics who have fabbed their own parts for things and pretty much become engineer and mechanic. One of my good buddies and smartest most creative buddies comes from Romania. Doesnt have to be anything crazy if you love this shit build mowers, mopeds and whatever you have available to you and It will translate into knowledge you can use on all mechanics.
When I get some money and time, I'm gonna do a cheap build with my friends that know more about cars than I do ( I dont know shit) but because of your vids I want to just try to learn and do everything myself especially since you do things in a budget. Keep up the good work 👍🏽
