Jay Luck the weird thing is hosea said they're all retired postal workers and then he said they're all active and no one plans on retiring...and then he said that they all work together..what??..all 13 of them maybe took 2nd jobs at the same place?? very confusing! though and anyway, i agree with you that some of the questions in interviews like this should *not* be disclosed for privacy and safety reasons - for the winners as well as their family and friends. imho, every big ticket winner should get on board a team with at least one of each who specialize in lottery winner clients and/or financial planning *[who have all been properly vetted, of course!]:* a lawyer, a CPA and a financial planner. then, if the state allows it, have a qualified rep answer questions [a good trusted or a legal rep..or at least have some kind of a good rep with them, if they, the winners, agree do a press conference]...i read an article a few years ago about a couple who didn't even tell their adult children that they won! they decided it would be better to just act natural. to help them if and when they ever needed, as they always have done, but to keep quiet, haha!. they also hired a team of out of state lawyers to help them set up a trust fund for the family. i think, if i recall correctly, it was because the state they lived in didn't allow anonymous prize claims. it was a very interesting article as well as very educational!

Pretty much. I thought it was silly to even ask if any of them would retire. 46.5 is the annuity amount. Cash value is around 15 less than that and then there is Uncle Sam and dividing it into 13 equal parts. Pay off a mortgage, student loans and a vacation two corners over would be a stretch.
