I believe that the "problem" with the Razor fans can be configured from the bios. For the display it would have been good if it were tested with an external monitor, that way it can be ruled out that it is a problem with the video card

Yeah. The fans were louder after the "fix" than they were before it. The display problem was a sensor issue and nothing to do with drivers.

Copper heat sinks and liquid metal for cooling aren't always the best of friends. I hope you checked compatibility before applying. You risk your heat sink getting oxidized away if the two materials aren't compatible.
@MizuhoChan

It's fine, the heatsink will absorb a thin layer of liquid metal, so you should redo it after a month, so you have enough on the ic's, but it doesn't affect anything.

Hi Steve, Maybe you have to do layer of liquid metal over time as it will work into the copper. The second notebook you need to install the latest Intel drivers, as it currently uses the standard Windows drivers (the checkbox was not available). You can obtain the drivers through Windows Update or the Intel website.

"ramps up at login screen": windows fires a lot of services up at the login screen. i have a power meter in my psu. normally the psu is 60w idle, and at the login screen it jumps straight to 120w. so don't compare the login screen with idle, that's happening a lot in the background.

31:01 I would apply the liquid metal to the copper then wait for a few hours then reapply the liquid metal again because liquid metal will eat into pure copper and dry out without a minimum of 2 coats. Also I would apply the red coating to some of the gold parts near the chip 15:43

I would assume there is a thermal sensor somewhere that is not detecting what temperature the system is running at and just defaults to full blast on the Razor. Might be worth going into the BIOS and see if you can determine what temp the system is seeing. Hard to believe the liquid metal would make that much of a difference, but I could be wrong.

@@nightruler666 He made a video with derbauer who makes the acrtual LM. So he (derbauer) explained the issue is gallium which is corrosive for aluminum and it messes up copper, it DOESN'T corrode it like aluminum, but it makes a different alloy which have different properties than copper. My comment is really not saying anything else than this. Also that's why he (derbauer) is nickel plating his copper products so they don't loose original thermal conductivity property. At the end, everyone should do what they think is the best, I'll listen to manufacturer of LM.

About trying to figure out at the start whether there really is overheating, and where is it, there is, for linux, the easily installed package lm-sensors. And it's possible to create a linux bootable thumb drive... and to boot nearly any laptop from that thumb drive. Once the lm-sensors package is installed, the command "sensors" prints out the temperatures of various components, plus fan speeds.

For the LG GRAM, you may need to change the Flex cable that connects the screen to the motherboard. It may solve this issue. But i've watched the full vídeo, i don't think the issue was only the driver that makes the screen flikering. That flat cable from the display loose also can cause this issue.

So for me, with it spinning up as soon as its powered on, and at that point the GPU wont be being called on for very much at all apart from a display, then my mind would go to the CPU thats getting hot thus making the fans rmp, but even then, that CPU would have to be getting hotter for a while to get the fans going the soon and at full tilt, very strange symptoms if you ask me, maybe some software program needed to control the fans, atleast i would have a look with HWInfo or Afterburner, just to see what the temps are and the usage coz its abit strange for the fans to be ramping instantly unless there was a problem, anyway... ive watched 11 minutes, back to it, and be good to see what happens after Liquid metal, for sure will drop the temps by 5 to 10c i imagine, i dont think thats the problem though unless the cpu is at 100c instantly... Maybe it is... Crazy if so.

On that LG with the screen flashing, that flashing can be caused by three main things. Failing LCD panel (i.e. back light), display cable, or the GPU faulting and resetting. The smaller connector on that PCB is for the touch screen's digitizer and the cable that runs underneath is for the LCD panel.
