This was the last game show to be taped in New York City if I am correct. This was from 1981. Bob Stewart was the last producer to move to the west coast partly due to Bill Cullen's desire to remain in New York City and Cullen hosted several Bob Stewart shows.

Well, by this time Bill Cullen had already done "Chain Reaction" in L.A. and at the time was doing "Blockbusters" for Goodson & Todman.

Nice clip... I have to wonder if this was the era where, say, "A two-part story" would've gotten the buzzer...

They've already shot 2 pilot episodes for the new $1,000,000 Pyramid... if it goes well, then yes, it'll be on this Fall on CBS.

Not a surprise, since both were Michael Davies shows. That's why the proposed CBS 2009 Pyramid will likely be another New York show.

i get tired of the mid-80's 25K and 100K pyramid, I wish GSN could do the 10, 20 and Bill Cullen's 25K pyramid from the 70's, better shows!

Also, the GSN 2006 revival of "Chain Reaction" w/ Dylan Lane and the current revival of "The Newlywed Game" w/ Carnie Wilson also taped at New York.

@snuffereet Their are only very few 10K Pyramids tapes that have not been destroyed. The only 20K pyramid tapes that are available are from 1978-1980. 50K Pyramid only ran for 1 year. Mostly the 25K and 100K are only available

This format was the worst among all incarnations. I really like Pyramid, but the $50,000 version was pointless. Clock counts up instead of down...(For tournament reasons yes, but still...) no bonuses in the front game, Only $5000 for a trip to the Winner's Circle?! And to top it off, you didn't have to win a game to qualify for the $50,000 tournament, you just had to have the fastest main game time. So, in essence, you didn't actually have to go to the WC AT ALL to qualify?! Just Ridiculous.
