@@deadlyvixenI belive he used tap water (could be wrong) and it’s ph is not good for fish. He acclimated the fish for like 3 seconds, you acclimate them so u don’t put them in right away or else they’ll be in shock
I know he’s dead but I want to say this. This “freshwater” puffer is a green spotted puffer, which is a brackish species (needs a mixture of salt and freshwater). Plus’s it also needs a tank size of at least 150 liters.
Pea puffers are freshwater but best in soft water. Some fish will not live long if you don't know the right kind of water they need to thrive not try to survive. This definitely is a green spotted puffer.
Bro? Alot of people use budgets and the fish turns perfectly fine. Its only if you don't know what you need for it then its a harzard like guys learn your facts
@@HuntersWorld_100 can in cases like this not even be enough for the tank itself especially when you buy a schooling fish like this that needs 60 gal plus another 5 gal for every other puffer added so they can school ;-;
I know tanks are the best living conditions but when 5 year old me got a fish (the tank was extremely tiny yet it was a baby beta) I just changed the water weekly I mean I ended up getting a bigger tank as I got more money and grew up even though it was only one gallon but somehow I kept it alive for 4 years
I know everyone in the comments is saying that he’s doing it wrong. Another thing no one has mentioned is that you’re supposed to leave your tank running as if they were fishing it empty for 2 to 3 days. He didn’t do that. He just plopped the fish right in.
Cycle what? Lmao. He bought a cheap bowl, threw some gravel in it, and some tap water. There's nothing to bother cycling. Theres nothing to filter, no ammonia to break down, no benificial bacteria, no plants to break down nitrates. This is like saying there's a problem with the electrical wiring in a house when the entire house is built onto quicksand. Like yeah, your right but the house is going to collapse before the wiring ever becomes a problem.
@@Rizz407 tank size aside, hasn’t cycled the tank or probably even dechlorinated, no heater, probably won’t do water changes properly. It’s just a slow death.
I've seen the follow-up videos to this. Joe did a good job by realizing that he made a mistake and tried to correct. I would recommend people take a look at his improvements, even though it did end in a tragedy. I'm proud of him for owning up to his mistakes, rather than trying to cover it up. If you watch his other videos, you will see that he actually tried to take your advice to care for his pet. Good job Joe, just try to do some research and don't be afraid to contact a keeper or breeder for advice. We actually want to help new hobbyists.
@@VolcanixAquatix I 100% lost my sheit. It’s getting so many views that there’s no way he’d just delete it but that just goes to show that internet clout is more important than the numerous living creatures it’s going to harm. Ugh. :(
@@valval9277 yeah, it's really sad, I feel so bad for the little guys that get put in a Walmart 1.5 🥺 I did 8 months of research and tank development before I even got fish. I don't know why folks do this stuff so impulsively or for clout, they're literally living beings. Not a toy. Just terrible.
Ok I have not watched the follow up yet but good for him I agree this vid should have been taken down so people do not follow this video as a tutorial on how to keep your first fish also this fish needs brackish water
1500 baht? Naw man I usually get a tank from local store it’s 500 baht now I got 100 baht left, I buy filters and it’s like 200 baht now I left with 800 then I buy an air pumper it’s 200 now I’m left with 600 baht, after that I got some fish and it’s cheap (20baht per 3 fish) so I get 15 fish. And I have 500 leftovers.
@@HuntersWorld_ you know those guys who buy really big dogs as puppys and when they start reach 70 to 80 pounds instead of finding a place for them to go they leave them outside somewhere. thats this guy
I really hope you actually have a permanent setup for this fish. They require at least a 30 gallon. And you need to feed them frozen/life foods such as bloodworms and brine shrimp
“I found this cheap 1.5 gallon starter tank!” Literally killed me. Don’t buy tiny tanks please! Especially for bettas btw. (Also I recommend a planted tank but if that’s out of your budget atleast try to make it look planted for the fish’s sake)
@@HuntersWorld_ it’s best to have a planted tank though because it improves the health of your fish. My old tanks weren’t planted and that’s okay, I’m just saying that if you get a fish don’t abuse it. Preferably don’t use super bright led lights that flash between colors either because that will stress your fish. And when I said “atleast make it look planted for the fish’s sake.” I meant put plenty of places to hide. Thank you for your time.
For people who don’t know how to set up an aquarium: first day get a tank first, next up add water and stuff for the water to be healthy for the fish and wait 24-48 hours to out the fish in after you wait, you can put your fish in!
If you have a 50$ budget to invest in a pet, why even try. It’s like investing 50$ into toys, food, treats, bowls, kennels, collars, and leashes for a dog. It just doesn’t work
R.I.P Mrs. Puff. Bro literally did no research. It costs like $100 For a 6 gallon with everything the fish need. Plus you gotta get like a lot of food, natural plants. The plants have snail eggs on them and the snails eat fish poo. I recommend getting a betta fish for a setup like this. My smallest 6 gallon tank has a betta. Water lettuce And a few other plants. Add rocks fish love it.
This is the least of this puffers worries but in general yes PLEASE wash your gravel (and don’t buy colored gravel like this it can leach toxins into the water)
Not even the right water, little dude needs brackish water so this idget basically put it into somewhere where it cannot breathe and let it die alone (all pufferfish are a schooling fish and need large tanks with buddies to remain happy )
That fish will literally die in a couple of days. It’s a brackish water species and needs a tank of 150 litres, not 10 litres. Nobody set up a tank like this. It’s not good for fish and this guy has done no research what so ever. It is extremely cruel.
@@raymond6976 that fish needs a bigger tank + different food + he didnt even cycle the tank (cycling helps get good bacteria in the water so the fish can live)
@@hellothere6363the fish died. He didn’t have a big enough tank and chances are died of stress. He also probably wasn’t doing water changes often enough
Name him: Tank, bc he needs a bigger TANK! RIP: Puffer Fish 😢 The first rule of fish keeping, get a friend whose into fish keeping so you can ask them to help you set up a tank. Otherwise, fair chance they will die.
Your fish is really cute but I recommend getting a bigger tank and get a filter. Maybe like a 15-20 gallon. I also recommend live feeding like shrimp. ☺️
@@Rizz407 it is not “Just a fish”! Different species of fish need different accommodations to be able to live healthy lives! Fish are actually really cool pets if you know how to take care of the properly. There is actually something called the Betta fish Olympics where Betta fish and their owners compete in competitions. Look it up and you will see that fish are not “just fish”. 🙄
This is so painful to watch. That puffer fish will need a bigger tank in the future at least 15x larger the tank you have. Next you didn’t even get a filter which you need to run about an entire week before actually adding fish in. That is animal abuse. If your budgets lower than 50 dollars, don’t buy a fish!
This is a gsp (green spotted puffer) and they’re not fresh water they’re brackish if you don’t know was that is it’s a mixture of fresh and salt water.
If you or somebody are interested in getting a fish, please do actual research. This guy obviously does not know what the hell he is doing. The puffer should not be in a one and a half gallon aquarium. It should at least be in a 10 gallon the pea puffer grows to be about 1 1/2 to like 2 inches so come on now, and just because it’s freshwater does not mean it don’t require salt because it do. They prefer slightly acidic water and densely planted tanks with a fine sand substrate fish is going to mistake the rocks for clams which it eats. Please do your research.
- Green spotted puffer as a beginner - To small tank, requires at least 30 gallons - NOTHING was cycled - No water conditioner that I saw - No live plants - Most likely it’s living off of flakes right now instead of a variety of foods like brine shrimp and bloodworms Do some research before you start a fish tank guys.
Can you do your research? I have seen a youtuber who has green water. Never ever cleans out its tank. No filter. But the fish is healthy. Like how it would be with the stuff you discribed
@@HuntersWorld_ Do you have the name of the RU-vidr by any chance, I have my own tank at home that has gone completely green multiple times from bacterial blooms and yes that won’t harm the fish but what will is the tiny tank he put it in. Sorry if I’m coming off harsh but that’s how you keep a fish. And yes you can keep a fish with no filter or anything but the trouble is balancing the ecosystem and plants perfectly so everything thrives and works in harmony.
@@Banker01111 That’s fine, but just because you can’t afford to have the 30 gallon then you can’t really chuck a fish like that in it. A better idea would be a coupe of minnows or shrimp.
Name him dead because he won’t last long. Do some research before making such poor choices man. If you need direction let me know because this isn’t the way to do it not hating but genuinely concerned for the fish
Please, nobody should ever do this. The tank has to be established prior to fish being introduced. Also, literally any research on the fish you buy would be wise. Requirements, diet, temperature. This fish did not live long. Ignorance is also animal abuse.
@@Rizz407 I'm not wtf💀 im just saying they can feel pain and they can get stressed like idgaf if you keep fish, hell I keep fish but you need to have correct measurements its like how would you feel if you were trapped in a too small box, you wouldn't like it
NEVER DO THIS!!!! You should get that fish at least a 15 gallon tank for it has some room I like to think about it as if it is a apartment would you like to live in a area half you size or would you like to have space
1) The average aquarium needs AT LEAST 1 week of being setup with no fish, so it accumulates helpful bacteria. 2) Freshwater pufferfish are literally the worst beginner fish to buy for someone who has no clue what they’re doing. These guys live in brackish water.
Better $50 budget set up; buy a walmart 10 gal for $15 tractor supply gravel for $5 food and water dechlorinater for $10, filter for $10, a plant or two for $10, have patience to wait two weeks for the tank to cycle, go and catch wild minnows for free.
You should have waited atleast 2 weeks to put him in cuz of chlorine, ammonia, and among other things but he should be alright Also change the water about every month or so
I'm a beginner fish keeper and as soon as you said "my budget is £50" and "I got a cheap tank" I ALMOST FAINTED THIS BETTER BE SATIRE! THE TANK WASN'T CYCLED
Hi there! I just want to say that you should have planned and researched this pufferfish. I have no idea how to keep brackish water fish but this is not how you do it. All I know is that you need to cycle your tank and get a bigger tank. I mainly keep saltwater but I hope this helps a little bit!
Those puffer fish need at least 5 gallons like a betta don’t ever put any fish in a bowl or small aquarium always do your research and get the things needed like with my aquarium I made sure to get all of the needed supplies after days of researching and I took the set up of my tank step by step and my fish is nice and healthy I have a 10 gallon tank for one betta with a heater filter and aquarium pump with live plants and natural decorations no rainbow gravel I use white river pebbles or regular river pebbles and I feed my betta good healthy food not no pebbles that they can choke on
Use the Aqueon 50% off sale to get a 20 gallon for $25, then get a pump and sponge filter for $15, dig dirt in your yard for substrate and wash/dry in sun for $0, go to a local pond pulling plants up by roots for $0, finally buy guppies for $10 and unlock the unlimited fish glitch with breeding.
Guys! Stop attacking him for not setting up the tank properly! It’s his first fish! Calm down! He could’ve done a little research but it is his first fish so he didn’t know! Stop attacking him!
@GorgeousFaustina They deserve it, they do their chores before being asked, the love to help everyone in the neighborhood, they both have managed a A,B grade this year and they both have graduated... on top of they have been on their best behavior since Christmas so yeah... lol they definitely deserve it😍🤍🌱🙏🏾
Guy just stop just tell him that he’s in the wrong don’t yell at him. This is his first fish :need a bigger tank for the : have a place for the fish to hide. A name you can have is stripes 😊
⚠️DOO NOT SET UP TANK LIKE THIS GUY⚠️Poor little fish. No fish does not deserve this! If you want to buy a fish with only 50$ than your only option isn’t to buy the smallest aquarium you can buy a bigger used one fore cheap. Fake plants can be more expensive than real ones. And please just buy normal sand it’s healthier because it doesn’t contain femicals and there’s not that big of a price difference. If you want to by a fish or a pet in general than you need to provide what it needs!!!
