used to own a break-apart pellet gun that also came with a swappable .22 barrel. Loved that thing. Popped an adult rabbit at about 100yds one time. Straight to the heart. He flinched at the noise, stood up, looked around puzzled & went back to eating, seemingly untouched. A moment later he flopped over, dead as doornail.

This rifle has lots of power ru-vid.comUgkxQt2uORDRfFOVSrO4idv4B90ThT6EOnEL , hard recoil and a little heavier than expected which affects accuracy, especially when firing freehand or hunting small game. Really rough on sites, as it often moves inside mounting rings. Replaced sight with a UTG Bugbuster, which required medium height mounting rings, but improved accuracy while sighting in as shown in attached photo, at 20 yards using Gamo Match Diablo pellets at 7.56 grain. Nonetheless, I am still trying to figure out where to install the mounting rings on the scope to avoid it from sliding around, as it becomes misaligned after about 50 or 60 shots. Currently considering using heavier pellets at about 9 grain with different tips like the H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme or the Crosman Ultra Magnum to see if accuracy improves. Overall, I am having lots of fun with this rifle.

Felt kinda bad for the squirrels. Then I realized they tend to kill themselves by recreationally running in front of cars and suffocating in their own blood, and felt less bad. Plus, you ate it so there was a use to it. Just prefer nice clean kills over sloppy ones; never let them know what hit them

I have that same pellet gun. It shoots both pellets and bbs. The reason your pellet went inside the gun is the bbs don’t load like the pellet. You poor them inside the gun and they pop up out that little hole when you rack the bolt back. The pellet went into the bb holder

I bought the same rifle from Walmart. Loading pellets sucks big time. I use a mechanics tweezer to list mine. But I found using BB's is easier and just as accurate. Also you only have to pump it about 6 times to kill a squirrel. 10 times seems to send the round inaccurately but faster.

If you need a reliable and affordable one, use an Airgun with break mechanism. It's way faster, accurate and probably even more powerful than the one you had to use for this. And they're in quite the same price class as the one you used.

I bought one of these Barra 1866 pellet rifles for giggles and it’s been a pretty good little rifle for me to mess around in my yard popping birds and squirrels. Takes a bit of finesse to get the pellets in. mine drives tacks at 20 yards not idea to take into woods hunting I prefer a 17HMR squirrel hunting

The "Ruger" I have, is actually made by Gamo. .22, with an adjustable trigger. Decent pellet gun.

800 fps for that is certainly optimistic. Most cheap, break barrel .177 air rifles hit around 450-700. Which you would think would be a bit more powerful than that rifle. Daisy's hit around 350 fps.

6:58 when he says the pellet keeps falling into the gun it’s because it’s falling into the bb slot. Your not supposed to pull the “charging handle” all the way back because that’s how you chamber the bb’s when you put them in the bb hole lol

Ive had the same issues with a 10 pumper. You lose pellets inside the gun and it designed for people with the fingers of a 2 year old.

lil bit to icky for hunting imo. if your gonna hunt get a set up that reloads quickly and comes with an optic. every critter deserve a clean outing, or at least a fast follow up shot. those few extra dollars can get you an exponentially better rifle that can take larger game like turkey head shots ect.

That thing can also pump out bbs and the reloading for that is way faster since it has a built in magazine and reservoir. It’s basically a fancy looking version of a crosman pump master. Also the pump master is like $40 and a superior pew in my opinion.

I've got 14 meal packets of that Mountain House Meals in my Bug - Out Kit that has a mess kit , emergency tent , and other survival items/tools. Not very likely that I'll need the kit but if I do then I'll be very glad ( and alive) to have prepped that Kit. I can easily sustain two people for a week with this Kit and the whole Thing barely cost more than 80 dollars to set up. I was able to buy a couple of "Boxed " meal kits of a variety of Mountain House Meals that equated to far less cost than 9 bucks per meal .
