Great review, as always. Thank you. One of your videos from 5 years ago showed up on my feed today. I’ve never watched any of your older stuff. I must say, you’ve come a long way. I’m happy for you and your channel and wish you nothing but the best. 🙏 As for the watch, I think they should have dropped the “15” at the 3 o’clock position. As it is now, it’s not in line with the rest of the 24 hour track. And that looks somewhat off to me. Alternatively, they could have used a VH31 and dropped the date altogether.
Bought this a few weeks ago, and I love it. The weak point is the bracelet. I found that it irritates my skin, but at 20mm the strap options are endless. I'm going to try it with some nato straps and hybrid straps. Can't recommend this enough. Great review 😊
I own a Hamilton Khaki King auto with day and date. Legendary. But that’s really it, isn’t it? The name, the history, the heritage? How much better is it for 10 times the cost? Not much, honestly. However, if the Chinese brands had to pay out the same in labor and production, the price might be more equal.
Shiny things does it again with exceptional reviews. This watch is quite well done for the price point for the more conservative in how much one individual may wish or can afford to spend for an affordable time piece. If Addiesdive will consider the on the fly adjustment to an additional $25 and the watch going from $54 U S dollars to a $ 79 U S dollars they will likely gain more sales of this particular attractive watch with an even larger popular pool of customers. Thank you my friend for your channel that is always exceptional and mindful. Rick in Florida USA.
I have the one that comes on the leather strap, has a bead blast finish, for $54 I ordered this one on the metal bracelet that has the brushed finished, couldn't pass up this deal. These watches are amazing for the price. Highly recommend
I compared this to other watches in the $60 category, I'll never own a Hamilton but I can afford this awesome $60 watch. I wear casios and other affordable brands. I don't buy(normaly) watches over a $100 USD.
I have the original, and as others have said, it’s okay, but not great. Very well printed dial, thin on wrist, could use better AR. But I enjoy it for the heritage. I am drawn to the Militado, however
Exactly... That dial is so generic... I can't believe that they charged that much. Just take a look at this n what is possible considering Hamilton's capabilities... Just goes to show how much excess we have been paying... For 'Swiss'. Same with IWC...
Too much distance between internal glass and dial creates a lack of harmony in overall proportions and a cheap effect. Only real defect but enough to make it appear a bad copy of The slimmer and more elegant original Hamilton. The devil hides behind details!
If you are just after a competent tool watch and not bothered about brand name this is a no brainer especially when you think the only real niggles are on the bracelet. Plenty of other brands, Ali Express, micro and established, would charge double or even triple the money and ship with similar quality bracelet - take my money!
An outstanding video review! This is a very nice watch; it is definitely an excellent value proposition. When it comes to design, all field watches are very similar, if not all the same. I prefer the SII NH35 (which is easier to work on, replace and service compared to the ETA in the Hamilton). The bracelet is the least of my concerns; this will end up on a NATO or a two-piece leather strap.
It actually looks pretty nice but it’s too big. The 38 mm version of the Hamilton wears a lot bigger than 38 mm so I imagine this 39 mm wears even bigger.
Thank you for sharing. Tha 38mm I handled was in the studio so the crystal didn't strike me as bad, but probably after a longer use absence of AR would eventually be much more noticeable.
