+Sam Avery Yokes are SO last century. Side sticks and center sticks are de rigueur nowadays, and are a return to the past as well. Look at everything from the Cirrus SR-22 to the newest Airbus jetliners and you'll find sticks. Same with the military: F-35, B-1B, B-2...all have sticks. Basic airmanship is sometimes called "stick and rudder flying." I've never heard the expression "yoke and rudder flying."

Also, with a trijet center of thrust stays further inboard in the event of an engine loss. In other words, if you lose engine 2, the plane will still go in a straight line. If you lose one of the outer ones, it will try to drift slightly to the side, but not as much as in a twinjet.

Much better to have three over the ocean.

Sanjay: There is no, "wrong choice," between the two. Both are excellent planes!

Jeff Brown , there is actually... when choosing a long distance corporate jet, you look at four points; 1) Specific mission capability, 2) Overall performance, 3) Dispatch reliability/ Maintenance , and 4) Product support / After sales service. You rate them accordingly. For me and my company, it was a Gulfstream product that came out on tops. That is not to say that the others are not good. It's a purely subjective / neutral perspective.

Sanjay: Just know when you taxi out close to this bad boy, 90% of the eyes will be on him. No plane matches this one in looks; not even Gulfstream! :)

Hi Jeff, I flew a 900EXEASy for five years so I'm a big Dassault fan. The 8X is a 7X with a three foot longer fuselage. That's it. The G650 however is a completely new airplane compared to the G550. Both Dassault and Gulfstream airplanes look absolutely awesome, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and right now I prefer the G550 and the G650...imho.;)

Sanjay: Wow, you're fortunate to have flown both types of planes! I've flown both bigger and smaller planes but neither of these. I've always thought the 3-holer Falcons were the prettiest (starting with the 50), so I've been smitten for a long time. Don't get me wrong, I believe the Gulfstreams are also very awesome looking planes, but these Falcons are unbeatable in the looks department, imo. But as you say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Safe flying to you!
