Hi Mindy!! Great review as always. I personally think that comparing a $600 chair (you can even get Ergotune at $400+ these days on sale) to a $2,000 chair is not a very balanced comparison. But you're right that for its price, the ErgoTune V3 offers so much function and value at a reasonably affordable price, also considering the times of inflation we are in currently. The Steelcase Gesture is also a really good chair too and extremely popular in other countries like the US, its best known for its super adjustable arms and the easy built in lumbar controls and seat adjustment knobs as you pointed out. I personally would still use the ErgoTune V3 that I have since my personal preference is for full mesh chairs and not fabric because I sweat a lot and my working area does not have air con around and I also like having very pronounced lumbar support. So again, its also down to the user's working experience and preference of material/comfort. Also in terms of just price to performance ratio, I would still recommend the ErgoTune Supreme over the Gesture, and I think comparing the ErgoTune V3 to the SecretLab Titan Evo 2022 or the Hinomi H1 Pro would be much fairer comparisons since these chairs also range between $500 - $700. Just an idea tho!!! I think the Steelcase Gesture/Amia/Leap or the Herman Miller Mirra 2/Aeron Remastered/Cosm/Embody are quality chairs and great long lasting chairs for those who can afford to spend $1000 - $2000+ and definitely the long warranty and pre-assembled chairs are all part of the package.

I have a Haworth Fern Digital Knit without head rest, with lumbar, and it is the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in. I haven't sat in a gesture, but I doubt I'd like it more. I'm super tall, so the 25.5 inch back on this chair is 10/10 for me.

0:54 Uh no, that knob is to adjust the seat depth to ensure that u have the proper ergonomic spacing of 1 to 2 inches of gap between the front edge of the seat to the back of your legs. It wasn't designed to adjust the lumbar support tension at all. Sure, u can use that to slide your body closer to the lumbar support in the backrest which I guess kinda theoretically increases how much lumbar support you're feeling, but the best way is to adjust that knob to ensure u have the proper amount of space between the front edge of the seat and the back of your legs first, then u can just position your body yourself to make sure your butt is all the way to the back of the seat. This ensures that your lower back is in full contact with the backrest (i.e. lumbar support) to prevent gaps that can encourage slouching over time.

You sold me on the Steelcase chair, but I don't know if my wallet feels the same way. It sounds crazy to spend $2k on a chair, but when you spend a third of your day sitting in it, you should invest in a product that'll prevent you from needing a chiropractor in a few years. Great video!

Yea especially when u consider that these high-end chairs typically last way longer than their already amazing 12-year warranty. When u calculate the cost per year of these "expensive" chairs, they actually turn out to be not that expensive.

@@dylanloo9856 its still a pretty damn expensive one off cost though

@UClfeeiayMUe_wSN7mYFmxxQ yeah but you can buy great ergonomic chairs for about $500 aud, I have one from Ergohuman and it cost me under $700. It offers similar support for your back as an expensive chair, ofc if ur using an ikea or another random chair you should upgrade. What's more important though is actually sitting in the chair ergonomically. I'd be willing to bet most of the people with a steelcase or herman miller chair still slouch around most of the time, diminishing the benefits of the chair...

@@australianpatriot Yea definitely, but practically, u wouldn't wanna buy a chair by just looking at the one-off cost. I bet any expensive thing u buy like a car that comes with a warranty, u will consider the per-year cost, it's resale value, and the value/benefits it provides to u to best decide if it's best worth it compared to other offerings on the market right? Same for ergonomic office chairs. Also, I bet ppl spend more money on their mobile plan than a chair. If u take at least $10 a month for 12 years, that's $1,440. A high-end Herman Miller or Steelcase chair will easily cost around the same and like I mentioned b4, they typically outlast their already amazing 12-year warranty (e.g. HM Aerons can easily last 20 to 30 years if properly taken care of). That's only like $60 a year which is half the cost of what u spend on ur mobile plan! And most importantly, it will take care of your back and health for the entirety of that 20 to 30 years while also providing an excellent quality chair with great comfort (comfort is subjective ofc) for most of that duration. Most ppl don't realise it, but buying a chair is just as important as buying a good bed if u spend many hours a day sitting at ur desk. Some ppl even spend more time sitting at their desk than sleeping! And they're both designed to properly support u. Ppl don't tend to cheap out on their beds as much as their chairs when they're both equally important for your posture and health.

@@australianpatriot Ofc, I have a midrange office chair myself that costs $600. It's the ErgoTune Supreme but I actually got mine for free coz I won the 100% cashback competition lol. It's not like I only recommend ppl to buy high end office chairs that cost over $1000. Midrange office chairs r great too. It's only the cheaper chairs that cost like less than $300 is where I start getting skeptical and require more research and reviews to justify its cost. And for those ppl who misuse the chair, well that's their problem for buying an expensive chair and not utilising it properly. But I would assume that most ppl who spend that much money on a chair will at least be aware of ergonomic basics so that they will use the chair properly. Also, some high-end chairs typically "force" u to sit in an ergonomic position as sitting any other way will be quite uncomfortable. The HM Aeron is notorious for this.
