I am glad I came across this video. I actually just doing lawn mowing services and it has been helpful. I get a call just about everday. I’m am thinking of doing this full time on the weekends. I have a a full time during the week for benefits, this would be to start my own business and have extra cash to have. Also I’m doing this for my son Liam, who will be on this earth in 3 months. My Lawn Service the key factor as I found with my Lawn Service is attitude if you’re a nice person and you let them know that you are and you’re willing to work with him they will even pay more money to keep you. I have gotten so many tips good tips from being on time, listening to the customer and taking the time to go talk to them I’ve had so many customers that I’ve gone because of other companies have ran through there and didn’t take time to say good morning or anything and just be nice to the customer and make them feel important. I’ve gotten so many jobs from other companies that, they just didn’t talk to the people. I know you have to make money and I know time is money but invest the time into talking to your customers will meet the attitude makes a heck of a difference. I hope this helps somebody just really be nice and feel like you care for the people that you’re working for good luck.

Thank you as always Will. Chad - Red Rock Lawn Care
@TheWillKelly
@TheWillKelly Год назад
Hey brother, because I know your situation more than most I would not recommend a commercial push mower at this time for you. I don't think for the price of $2k it is worth it for you right now. I would wait until you are running that thing 5 days a week 7 hours a day until you get a commercial mower. If you need a new mower, I think upgrading to a nice top of the line residential mower for $700 - $800 is the move for you. You will spend about a third less than you would on a commercial and allow you to keep more profits in your pocket to help you grow. I am planning on putting together a pricing sheet for anyone wanting it based off a 21 inch mower and small residential yards. We've had 4 years of mowing hundreds of lawns to come up with the blueprint for it. This can help get you accurate pricing for how much you want to make on your lawns.

I have a small lawncare business in Colorado Springs - "In Season, Out of Season Yard Care." I think my pricing metrics are a bit off. I inherited the set accounts & pricing from the gentleman i bought the business from, and I think most are fair or fairly low. I'm not using an $80/man hour metric on the mowing, but i do use a $69/man hour (plus dump fees) pricing for spring/fall clean outs. The former business owner wanted me to raise the prices after I acquired the business, but I didn't want to start out that way. This is my second full year, but I'm not sure how to augment my pricing, except for small, incremental increases from year-to-year. I'm trying to get rid of my restaurant/server job and do this REALLY FULL TIME. I currently have 26 customers (more than half of which are weekly mowings), and if I reach 35, then I can call it a day at the restaurant. That's my short-term plan. What advice does anyone have to offer?

I pay $37 to lawn mowing. And 3 people need to work for 10 mins. Thats about $70 per hour per person. And you make $600, that gonna be 9 hours per day. I live in the 2nd most expensive area across US. And just noticed you use push mower. You really work hard!!! And I have 6000 sqf lawn. So for a 8000 sqf lawn, my current company will charge $40~$45.

I'm glad I found your channel, I started my lawn cutting biz two weeks ago and my first job was 6 properties owned by Teo men renovating these 6 homes. A bit stressful since it's just me, have a small suv to put everything in and kinda screwed up on the estimate part for the 6 places. But I'm learning how to properly price jobs. I charge 40 an hr bud need to stick to giving bids instead of saying my hourly rate lol. So long story short I kinda missed out on 260 bucks worth on these first jobs. Anyways from here on out I'll just give them a time frame and do the math in my notebook.

I'd recommend charging $60-$70-$80 or higher depending on not only your service providence, but also your gas. You need to pay gas for both machines, mowers, and vehicle at the end of, or during the rout/ day. So you'll come off with half to little of the money you had earned. That being said, you'll want to charge how much your service is worth, as well. You'll also want to save most the money you earn to purchase more equipment later in the future.
@Vopraan
@Vopraan 4 месяца назад
I'd also like to state I'm not in the lawn mowing business, I'm just going by logistics. You also may want to carry light equipment. Purchase the lightest equipment you can get a hold of once possible, it makes it easier to push the mower around, and would be much quicker, as well. If it's a blower, make sure it's light for your standards, so you don't lug it around and make yourself tired quicker. Same goes for the weed whackers and stuff.
@Vopraan
@Vopraan 4 месяца назад
I also see now he charges per hour once finished the video. My idea's mainly for people who are charging a one charge payment. But nah, if you charging per hour, you're probably golden for gas if you charge $20-$30 or more an hour. Lol 😂
