Man! You were really due to make some comic books haul videos weren't you? You really gave us a huge treat this weekend for us comic book haul fans! * * * I think you made an amazing deal on that box of Dell Disneys! I am a fan, not an expert on value, but, at about $4 each you did really, really good. Just those thick 100 pages giants are worth, at the very least, $20 minimum each in VG, and much more in mid to higher grades. Carl Barks is of course the high value artist for Dell's Disney, and a lot of those Uncle Scrooge and some of the other Duck titles probably have some of his work in them. I also saw a few Walt Kelly (creator of Pogo) covers on the older Walt Disney's Comics & Stories, so these might be worth more. The Christmas-theme covers, Davy Crockett, and Disneyland are also worth a little more than the average. Same for the older 52 pagers 10 cents. * * * But, the most valuable book in the lot is, by far, the Walt Disney Vacation Parade #1 (yellow cover with Donald Duck on a motocycle with nephews swimming in the side car). My heart skipped when I saw it. This book is a minimum of $75 in the lower grades and multiply in value as you go up the scale ($200-$250 and more in mid-grade, and the sky is the limit if you can find one in higher grades). The thick 132 pagers was only the second Giant published by Dell (in 1950) and more than 50 pages were done by Carl Barks! Your copy seem to be in very nice shape so there almost half the cost of the whole box in value with that single book! * * * I share the sentiment you get just looking at the Dell cartoon books. The colors are so vibrant that every cover pops out! Dell had better quality printing and paper than most other comic book publishers of the time and it shows! And there is the nostalgia of mid-century design, beloved characters, and memories of simpler times. All of that for a dime back then! (or a quarter for the giants!)

Sergio Aragones ! I met him at a comic book convention in Scandinavia. He was just sitting there with his big moustache, no one bothering him. He didn't sit at a table like they always do. So I went up to him and told him I really like his spoof on Conan. Groo the Wanderer. He was very nice, and so I asked him if he could draw Groo for me, but he said he didn't have any paper, he just had a pen (marker). But I had in my pocket my trusty notebook, which I started using to remember what I have in my collection, because I often bought comic books I already had. The bigger a collection gets the harder to remember what you have. So he took it and drew Groo's face with a thought bubble that said "Eddie" and signed it. Now isn't that cool? At the same convention the BIG artist on Conan was also there, John Buscema ! I got to meet him too, but that's another story.

Flea markets, I remember mowing yards as a kid and spending all of the $ I earned on comics there! 😂 Those were good memories.

With all these comic books make me want to go comic shopping. Which is crazy since I never considered comic books until now. Let's go and find some sonic the hedgehog! Have a fun day :)

I watched all 3 parts - loved them. My collection is from early 80’s - I don’t think I saw more than 5 titles I actually own - Nam #1 - Early Groo - GI Joe seemed like later issues than what I have. No Who’s Who of DC Universe - no Secret Wars - No Vigilante - No West Coast Avengers. I must have been collecting all the wrong stuff. I have some Groo and GI Joe at least. Fantastic Videos.

With those old Disney books, the yellowing is almost just patina on them. It adds charm. I've easily paid $5 for Disney books in worse condition than those. Great purchase!

Fantastic video. A marathonic one!! Like I have mentioned previously, very jealous of the great finds you are able to get. Was specially impressed with the older books and the Beanworld comic (I would imagine that one is worth a fair amount - the Kayfabe guys really like that comic series). I like how excited you get for comics for yourself but I bet it's kind of hard to balance that with you having a store and figuring how much something is worth against how much you pay for it or how much you can sell it for.

I had a subcscription to the Dutch weekly Donald Duck magazine in the 80's and I read those to death. Some of the covers om the old Disney comics you have there look real familiar. Pretty sure they re-used some of those classic cover designs.

I remember when G.I Joe first came out as a comic book. Looked at the art and wasn't interested. A couple of years later I had the chance to buy again. Turned it down. THEN it went up, way up in price. It still doesn't appeal. Fantastic Four 101 is gold!
