Hi George, great review! I picked up a couple of CT15s at the Chuyen Tactical store on a trip to Ho Chi Minh City last summer and have been alternating them with my GR1 for EDC since then. I can confirm that all of your impressions bear out over time. The straps are definitely squishier and narrower than on a GR1 (although I don't have a Bullet for direct comparison), but it makes sense for the average Vietnamese user, who tend to be a bit narrower across the shoulders. I would say the finishing/stitching is not quite as nice as on a GoRuck, but no durability/build issues so far. Anyway, I'm a long-time viewer who really appreciates how you're able to cover stuff relevant both to normies and bag nerds🙂

Another great and honest review, George. As long as the maker is transparent about what they're doing and the consumer is able to make an informed decision, the origin of the pack isn't the most important aspect. In the end, Goruck is producing some of their bags overseas, as well, so that's not a tremendously meaningful basis for comparison. Thanks, for providing so much detail about the Chuyen bags.

Great review George! I purchase the Ct 15 several months ago for work/EDC and will give you my thoughts. My load out includes a 13” laptop, 11” iPad, CCW ( Velcro tape in front slash pocket ) gym clothes, tech pouch, couple of organizers to hold knife, flashlight, pens, etc. Carries all easily, comfortable small package. I’ve used this pack several months and looks brand new. This includes weekend, second travel bag as well as EDC/work. Superior to Goruck 15 because of frame sheet and laptop compartment. I’m not hiking the Andes or the Appalachian trail but this pack has been fantastic for my use. Paid a little over $100 including shipping. Keep up the good work!

@Kwisss
@Kwisss Год назад
@@sebastianboninodiaz5495 I don't have the CT15 but I have a Goruck GR1. I feel the CT15 can work with weights up to 35lb MAX because CT needs to widen up the straps for a more comfortable carry with weights exceeding 35lb. If they do widen the straps you'd be able to ruck with more than 35 lbs.

Those look like good bags! What puts me off is the shoulder straps. If I wanted a GoRuck pack, it would be for rucking heavy stuff over some distances, so the straps are the deal breaker. I’ll stick with the Rush 12 for that purpose for now. Most comfortable straps on any pack I own except the Mystery Ranch 2DAP. For EDC I go with the TAD FAST Pack Scout since I don’t need to carry a whole lot at the office. The straps on that fit the “narrow but well padded” category, but they don’t contour to the shoulders and I don’t find them very comfortable under load. Yep, like George I spend too much on bags. He can take some of the blame - I just ordered The North Face Base Camp. Been looking at it for ages but his video made me do it. Thanks George lol :)

George, I always enjoying your video and at this time Im so grad to hear your open minded opinion to production in Asia. That was said, I love U.S. design so using Evade 1.5 and GR0 for my edc. If I will replace one of these now, I would get Whitly instead of GR0. But if CT21 had external bottle folders and rid off the big vercro, that would make the dream bag for me! Im atracted to the CT21 because it looks good and # Laptop compartment # 500D cordura I prefer then other materials # Nylon waving attachent points in main compartment and front. # Admin section in the front pocket # #8 zipper. It could be smoother then #10 arround the corner. Cheers!

Thank you for your review on this budget friendly option. I know folks don't like competition but competitive options is only good for the consumer. As far as ct5, I am pretty positive that the last pocket is for a firearm. Which is why it fillets out like that. The problem would be to open that pocket to deploy your firearm looks cumbersome. But for $30 not a bad option. Great video as always.

I’d probably remind folks that if you’re spending the Chuyen price on the look alike pack… you’re not spending on a full blown ruck that can withstand weight plates, sand bags… being used as workout equipment and daisy chained ladder. I don’t have a problem with CT bags my gf has one actually, but the bag is literally a carbon copy of a gr1. @union4ever23
@union4ever23 Год назад
@@harunomiya Hi Miya, I would say that I have a slight preference for the 500D CT15 for EDC because the VX42 version slides a little on my back unless I’m using the sternum strap. I live in NYC and really like the CT15 for urban EDC since it’s narrower than my back and not too deep so I don’t bump into stuff even in fairly tight spaces. Organization in the CT15 is good without being overly-specific, and there’s plenty of attachment options inside & out for panel organizers, admin pouches, etc. The CT15’s ideal max load is probably in the 7.5kg range, although I’ve rucked with the 500D version several times carrying a 20 lb ruck plate (so maybe 12.5 kg all up). In that case the bag carried the weight well, but the narrower straps started to dig into my traps after about 45 minutes or so. Here’s some other thoughts on both versions: VX42 - The dark grey version looks killer IRL (Multicam Alpine would perfect!) - The Bag material and AquaGuard zippers work well to keep everything dry, but a heavy downpour will still cause some dampness under the grab handle as moisture will eventually penetrate the stitching there. The nice kids at Chuyen Tactical did throw in a free rainfly for each bag when I bought them in-store in HCM City though. - The cordage on the Beam Puller style zipper pulls is on the thin side and can work loose from the zipper itself, although I haven’t lost one yet. 500D Cordura - Feels softer & less structured than VX42, but still stands up when set down on its bottom. - The 500D handles snow, mist and light rain well, but I’d want a dry bag or rainfly for steady rain. - The standard YKK RC zippers are smoother than the AquaGuard versions. I also find the paracord zipper pulls a little easier to manipulate, especially when wearing gloves. Hope this helps, more thoughts on travel use to follow:-)

Nah, this goes beyond being "inspired by". They've intentionally copied the visual style of Goruck, down to the details like grab handle and laptop compartment. It's great that they made some minor tweaks, but it's not a bag I would buy or a company I would support personally. Kind of surprised that after reading 70 comments I'm the only one that feels this way. There are so many great affordable bags out there (including 2nd hand) that I can't see the justification for getting one of these. Not saying I have any problem with the review (on point as always!) just thought I'd throw in my opinion to slightly balance things out!

GoRuck doesn't have a monopoly on this design. It's so funny seeing the Carryology guys try to use that argument. Taylor Welden is an elitist clown who thinks having a beard and wearing a hat are personality traits. I wouldn't trust his opinion on anything.

Stay away from this brand. My account was charged without even completing the checkout process. Customer service is absolutely terrible, i received no help whatsoever and shipping is half of the cost of the actual bag. There are better more trustworthy brands out there. Vidoes seen on youtube are all sponsored...
