Overstayed my welcome trying to recoup my losses from yesterday, traded one too many KOSS halts, lost my gains then went red and ended up walking away with a loss. This has been a tough week. Today’s loss was completely avoidable and all a result of me trading on emotion instead of paying attention to what the chart was telling me

Don't feel bad. I got in at the first halt and was immediately booted when it started because I set my trailing stop too low for the micro dip. [Edit] forgot to mention I have a cash account which meant I was tapped for the day.

That’s rough. KOSS was a real jerk. I mean, look at that hourly chart. Not clean at all. I got stuck in CNSP when IBKR decided that my 3000 share position meant they should freeze my account and flag me as an associate. SMH. Friday’s a new day!

Yes, I definitely learned from it BUT the lesson is one Ross JUST covered in his video about trading halts (so the loss stings just a little more). If I remember correctly, he stated it’s very risky trading beyond the 2nd or 3rd halt up. Well, the lesson has been solidified for me because trying to trade the pullback after the third halt up trapped me in a halt down and a gap down upon resumption after that. FOMO and “hope” of recovering a painful loss on IFBD yesterday got the best of me

Today was my first trading day with real money, and I realized how emotions can screw you up real quick. I traded Koss on open macd for breakouts of half and whole dollars and was up $650. Then I got greedy when it was falling down and thought a reversal was going to happen, even though the Macd was not open, and I gave away $525 on a false breakout. At least I ended up in the green with $125, but I made mistakes. I hope I can improve every day. I watched a lot of your videos, and you are an amazing teacher.

I feel you, I’m in my first couple of weeks and got 4 NVDA $123 calls at the dip yesterday, predicted the uptrend break, was up 35% but got greedy and held, held it until this morning and there was no movement so I sold them for a 45% loss then it boomed all the way from $122 to $128 right after I sold it 🥲

This greed thing is what kills most of my green trades. My brain keeps telling me what is the right thing to do but my emotions silence it to the degree that I cannot listen to it until too late. Then I realize when I miss the exit due to greed and wait too long and when it is red can’t sell it anymore. Being able to control trading emotions is the hardest thing. When it is a hot market it doesn’t matter so much because the stocks pop up multiple times but when there are short sellers in colder times, it just goes up once and then if you don’t sell while green you end up in red, if you are like me, you over-hold it with a hope of it going up again though you understand the chances are very low.

@@R8ofWinvery risky hold going into the holiday and Friday, it could lose the momentum. Also up on no news, albeit a rumor, but still. It could gap down if no news is released. Once we get news it rallies again.

Remind yourself that THIS is why you wake up and sit at your Trade Station every morning. Some days are devastating, while others allow for quick and painless gains. I always say that the market makes you feel that you're printing money one day, and flushing it down the toilet the next--which is why having a strategy and edge is so crucial. I also appreciate Ross's term "educated intuition" which can only be gained by time and experience in the market.

Hey Ross, I starting paper trading a couple days ago with one of your scalping stragey videos. Using that I managed to get a profit of $250 in 2 and a half hours (which isn't a lot) but feels like a good start and I hope to continue to be more consistent in trading. Well we went 2-1. Traded ANVS. As soon as it opened and it didn't break over 9.19, then it dipped under 8.75. I just waited to see if it would hold off above 7.38, and it did within the first five minutes. Dropped to 7.90, quick spike. Missed it, then it dipped to 7.50. Bought in at 7.63 and sold at 8.13.

I missed koss because first I noticed it when it had low volume and price was pulling back, next I saw it around $9, and thought meh, going to drop as soon as I enter, then the next thing it is up to $13 or so, halting, then it went up even higher. And then dropped after halting and popping up for some quick moment. Never entered but bought some losers that disappeared from scanner after a while. Still holding.

Ahh mang, I'm sorry, boy have I been there. Great time to evaluate why you traded what you traded. KOSS was the #1 on percent gain on the market from about 10am est, (I'm in cst and may be wrong here) or a little earlier for the rest of the day it was number one. Why were you ignoring it? Only antagonizing you to challenge/ encourage personal discovery, I have no play in your game ;). Ross mentions the importance of meditation. The implication of that is this is a game for strategists, not emotional looser's. (again not personal, I've been the looser many times). He said it the absolute best I've heard today. "Our job is to seek volatility and guard against risk." Volatility comes first in that sentence.

Learning to hold winners longer would make all the difference for me. KOSS on Wednesday. Held a small position after the scanner chirped to point out the ongoing squeeze from 5 to 6. Jumped in for the ride up to 8. Was happy with that gain and got out before the stock got sideways choppy for the next hour. Logged out and took a break from the screen. Logged back in to see that KOSS was in the midst of launching from 9 all the way up to 18, all while I was waiting for a solid entry point (that never appeared). I try to stay too disciplined to ever take the bait of optimistically seeing a topping tail as any kind of micro pullback. Only cashed in on an early 20% of what eventually became 300% rocket ship. Missed that opportunity! Got the run from 6 to 8. Still a solid win for the day! 6 to 18?!?! That is what fairy tale dreams are made of! I also know the next time I don't follow 'the rules'.. I will be the one who hangs on to the downside for far too long and watches a green day quickly turn red. I will happily accept any frustrating profit day.

Ross, do you think we saw a short squeeze today , because KOSS daily and GME dailies are the same , and GME and KOSS are related in their sentiment, so short sellers felt more comfortable shorting KOSS when they saw GME is kinda dead right now and the company released bad news and did a secondary offering?

I had exceeded my goal in about 6 trades yesterday and I took one more on SYT and ended up giving a good bit back. Tried to get a bounce trade and it flushed even more. Gave everything back and went red. Got a bit triggered, lost a bit more and stepped away for a bit. Came back calm and collected and manage to dig myself out of the hole. I finished the day green, but I made so many mistakes. I shut it down before KOSS happened, but I needed to step away at that point. Thankfully days like this are getting fewer and far between.

Was trading $DM and caught the morning squeeze and the second one at noon with NEWS that Nano Dimension bought Desktop Metals with a cash offer. Now I am stuck in a trade with $NNDM at $2.52 that I can't get out of ... I can't buy more, I can't sell anything. I put a STOP in and it is just sitting there since Noon even in the after market hours. What can I do? I haven't experienced this trap before.

When volume is high and the stock moves quick, I prefer to use a trailing stop. Nice green today.

Man this is really frustrating, things have been so slow and I’ve seen nothing but losing trades, then KOSS happens and I stop trading it around the 8 dollar mark thinking the move is over, so I go out for an oil change and just now come back to find out it ripped up to 18 dollars without me.

I started using 7-10% stops and it's really gave me more room to breathe. Of course you can always bail out but to not be strapped so close has helped.

I find I lose money on stops unless I'm specifically trading Ross' momentum strat, If you're swing trading with stops and calling it his strat, you're probably losing money. That being said if you're confident enough to swing trade it means you're staring at the order book right?

I saw this but didnt buy. I was watching the patterns and misjudged it completely. Instead I went to a differemt stock and lost money. Only been trading a week but this one hurts.
