I watched two other RU-vid channels put this together and then watched yours. Found two errors or omissions by them after listening and watching you. Great job...thanks!
Daaamn man, you did a 5 minute video in 12:22 minutes. My head was throbbing after I watched it. The most imortant part though is that you solved my long quest in searching for a rig set up for my dslr camera. You are a life saver. One thing though, if you put the monitor at the back of the top handle, how are you gonna view it, or even hold the top handle when shooting?
Most videos on setting up your camera rig the top Handel in reverse order compare to what you have I have the same setup and ergonomically it feels comfortable also smallrig handles have a cold shoe mount up front on the top handles
Thanks a lot TJ for a great video. I've ordered my CamVate cage, waiting for its arrival. I have not ordered the side wooden handle though. My concern is that the handle will come in the way of focusing. How do you manage to focus manual lenses?
Perfect that I found your video. I ordered it. Needed to know how to set up. Mine is coming tomorrow so perfect timing. The wife wants to do cooking videos and next weekend I'm shooting a wedding video.
Bought this for my Sony FS700, I’ll probably have to use the longer side bars for the height but the rig is gonna look dope. Does it give you a lot of options to optimize the scale of the rig depending on camera?
I ordered my leggo kit last night. It should be here tomorrow! I realized I did not want to put my monitor on the hot shoe, potentially damaging it. Especially when using an adapter to use with multiple devices.
TexCyn RV Life that’s a good note..honestly I don’t recommend a rig with a shoe mount ..it’s a bit safer if you have a cage that is all one piece or specifically made for that camera. I haven’t had any problems with mine..but I will be looking at getting a small rig cage built for my eos r .
...fantastic review. Respect from Nashville Tennessee! You have really good screen presence and a down to earth style. I have a couple of these pieces and your review made me glad to have them.
The monitor is sold out , does ANYONE knows where I can get the feelworld monitor from and what inch to fit on the same type of rig for a canon m50 mark ii
love the video and thinking about building the same rig for my new canon eos 90d. Did you ever had any problems with the mini hdmi port on the camera in terms of breaking or sitting loose? as you aren't using any kind of cable clamp?
found a cheaper option with proaim usa. its only a ten dollar difference, but for us hyper bugdet bois, thats a good save. the proaim snaprig is pretty much the came as the camvate model save some minor differences.
JFilmz yes. Just make sure you get the one that offers the wooden grip on the left side. Just because you’ll be using the grip that’s on the right side of your 80d, for your right hand. It should say in the description when you purchase.
