$85 for an Old Stamp Album?

As far as monetary value, can't say. Enjoyment value, two thumbs up, five stars, 9.9 on the Richter Scale. To watch you go through this album and listen to you comment with such glee and unbridled enjoyment, made me so happy for you. As a mater of fact, I pulled out my stamp album as you were showing us yours, and felt the positive vibes, which added to my enjoyment. When you exclaimed "Man I love stamps" I felt it. Because I too love collecting stamps. Thanks for sharing and looking forward for more of your adventures.

This is a great purchase! It’s rare to see one of these albums that hasn’t had the better material picked out. I’m currently working on a remainders box from EBay. Nothing as nice as this but lots of common stamps that are filling out some empty spaces. And thank you for going page by page…loved it!!

Thank you for sharing that album debut with us. It took me back to the days when I was an active collector. I will be taking my albums out very soon to remind myself of what I spent my hard earned allowance on while in high school.

Great fun! Stamps are a continual world of discovery. I love the stories they tell, the history and geography. There is always so much to learn. Well done sir. Not so much finds like you have been doing, but I have had some recent purchases of the Netherlands and France that have some really nice value.

Beautiful album! From start to finish, there are some really nice stamps in there. You went quickly past a nice stamp from Shanghai. Super video 👍👍

E grill and Z grill are the same size. Z grill has horizontal ridges. Always good to check the ridge orientation.

Just an FYI. On the Belgium page at 7:08, the stamps on the right with the box and date overprint are Belgian precancels which you will not find in Scott unless they were issued in precanceled format only. You are correct about the Chinese stamps. They are disappearing from the US market and I think that they are being bought up and shipped back to China. Every time I go to a stamp show there are at least 2 Chinese men walking around asking for China only. The 100o Denmark stamps can be pricey depending on the watermark. The first stamp on page 2 of Japan looks like it could be a registration label. Not a postage stamp so it would not be listed in Scott. I just started picking these up so I do not know much about them. You passed quickly over North Borneo which is one of my favorite countries. I particularly like the orangutan stamp second row from the bottom. The second page of Russia, the yellow stamp with the overprint is actually Ukraine.

The Canadian seven cent Edward is a precancel. Nice stamp!

I think you did quite well. There are some nice gems there.

The stamp at 14:40 appears to be Germany Scott #27 which was issued in 1874. It is better used than unused. The album was definitely worth what you paid for it. You can have a lot of fun going through it, and you may find considerable value by carefully going through it. You never know what you might find in these albums. Recently, in going through a beginner album from 1960 with mostly common stamps, I found a nice Penny Black (Great Britain #1), and also US 151 with a red cancellation.

Great album! What a joy to see all those old stamps. I think you did well with the buy. Did you work out more or less how much you paid per stamp? As a beginner collector I am also buying some old albums with worldwide stamps at the moment, but have not found one yet, that had not been cherry picked. I buy from a New Zealand trade site. Prices in auctions frequently quite good. Thanks for the video and sharing, and for showing all the pages so that one could peak at countries which one is more familiar with. 👍
