Yeah... One can buy a reasonable # of shares even with a small account, but in present market conditions, when a stock can be washed out within a fraction of a second, large position can bring a big loss. 6K shares multiplied by even 5 cents give $300 loss which is much more sensitive for a small account than for a ~$20K one... It would be OK in an ideal world (using your remark) where, say, hedges do what they suppose to do instead of robbing retail traders by manipulating stocks. )
