This should be a PSA for everyone who talks down on Audiopipe from hear-say, and not from experience with the product. Cheap does NOT always equal bad. I ran an Audiopipe APDL 1600.1 on 2 Audiopipe TXXBD2 15s for almost 2 years and and had zero problems or complaints. The only reason I dont have them now is because I went full competition mode with another underdog, DB Drive. The Audiopipe setup, with the right electrical, tune, and box, will hurt feeling all day long. And that's coming from someone who has hurt said feelings 🤷♂️💯😎
Thanks for your time on this with you living in a hotel that is why u ROCK !!!!! I look forward to watching your video every week you are the man, thanks for all that you do for the AUDIO COMMUNITY !!! Apparently some don't understand the pain of moving and living in a hotel room with out having the ability to get to all of your stuff !! God bless you and your family and keep up the great work !!!!!!
That thing is pretty beastly. I might be a little petty, but the controls being on the bottom could be a deal breaker for me. That means I would have to have everything set perfectly before it's mounted to the amp rack.
I think it's great that the controls are on the bottom. Especially from an installers point of view. That way you don't have the guy's brother, Uncle, or Buddy cranking up the gains.
Finally- they cut u some slack, 60 thumbs up and ZERO thumbs down as of this. LOL. I can't believe you put out a video in the middle of move, from a hotel. Many props to you and much appreciation for going through that hassle for us. Thanks dude.
I bought the Dual xpr84d because of your review. I would have gone with this amp but the dual is smaller, more efficient, and easier to setup because of the input settings location.
Great find Ryan. A little late for me though as I just bought and installed the pioneer 4 channel you tested a while back. Its coming out because the sq is so bad compared to the class ab amp it replaced. Going to give this one a try. Thanks for putting vids out during your move.
I bought two of these for my dad back in the spring for his truck and they are great for the price. 1 runs his door speakers 4 PRV 6.5s and 4 Soundstreme tweeters and the other runs a pair of 8" Inifinitys subs under his back seat. This little system will shock you for what it is. Sounds great and is pretty damn loud for a system that costs less than $500. If you get the amp set to about where it needs to be, then you should be able to adjust the head unit for the fine adjustments. You shouldn't need to mess with the settings on the bottom of the amp once it's all said and done with. But, the settings being on the bottom indeed sucks ass...
Hope all is well man, waiting for a new video. If you ran out of ideas I suggest you should try blowing up speakers to see how much they can handle or tips and tricks on setting gain or install. or a Christmas gift idea list.
By the way Ryan there is an updated version of this for 108$ on carid. It has the stacked channels like you wanted and it also has the settings on the side of the amp instead of under it. It also has 2 30 amp fuses with 1300 on the front of the amp instead of 1200, more power? I'm not sure about the fan but it would be a good idea being as it is class a/b. I will be replacing my 400 dollar jl xd 400/4 for the 4095 in my 2017 Mazda 3 once it comes in and I have free time to switch it.
@@rhurtadorh32 I got the amp and to me it does sound better than my jl amp. The fan is on the bottom like in the previous model as well. I am running into a problem with setting the gains and high pass filter. The high pass filter is from 50 - 1200 hz and I'm having trouble with too much bass coming to my speakers as well as there being less out put from my speakers. I have the hpf set half way and my 3 inch Polk dbs are doing ok now but on my jl amp I had numbers on the hpf dial so I knew it was set at 120 hz for the 3 inchs and that confuses me because half way might mean 600 hz although it doesn't sound like it. On the jl amp dial Hof half way indicates 100 hz so its most likely working similarly where theres small adjustments over most of the dial and towards 2/3 to the max cut off it finishes up the rest of the frequency band. For instance on my jl amp the hof 2/3 of the way is 200hz, dial all the way up is 500hz.
Jacob Warren if you have a complete system? Like a mono block amp for subs and this amp for highs try installing a xover and or equalizer it helps alot on adjusting your settings.
Thank you for this since I'm still in the market for a 4 channel. I keep leaning towards skar or soundqubed s100-4. But now... 90 bucks!!! Idk I might have to try it.
Thank you so much. I've been looking and hopeing to find some info on this. Haven't watched yet but I'm just very thankful your doing this one because I'm looking for a 4 channle class ab amp to try. Also I have 2 of the apmi 2ks that you reveiwed a little while back. I strapped 2 of them and hooked them up to 2 psi platform 1 10s in a 4.5 cubic ft box, great amps. I cracked the plate off the glass that holds my rearveiw mirror once I raised the tuning of my box from 25hz-30hz. Btw I did the numbers on the Wolfram 2400 on pre order and it is a better value, for now.
First thanks for testing these amps. Please do more 4 channel and add some 5 channels. Also can you tell me how this amp sounds? I know that's subjective, but giving a baseline opinion on what you think of these 4 channels would help determine who really is a budget gem or who just make rated power but poor sonics.
@@2shaded really. What would you compare it to? Or what other 4 channel amps have you used and on what type of speakers? That would help me understand what you have used in the past. If this is say sonically on par with a Hertz EP4 then I'd buy 2 of them today.
Good job I love your channel preciate you make me don't waste my money on Trust amp we waiting for db 45 4ch Rockville you promise to do dyno test we waiting /god bless FRM madlinks😎
Just like the other guy made a comment about theres a newer version of this amp model number is 4095 what i like about this is that it comes with a built in fan to keep it cool. But people say that rockville can run up to 8 6x9 speakers with no problem?
The efficiency on this is as good as the Jensen.. I don't want to get to fancy and have to upgrade the stock alternator and upgraded 0/2 power wire etc...
What up Ryan! I'm new to posting here, and I love your channel, but the main reason for the post is your amp dyno "track!" It's fantastic! Who is it, and more importantly, where can I find it! Thx...
Appreciate you still taking the time do ur series while ur moving an doin this in ur hotel on top of it I'm sure that wasn't the easiest amp dyno u ever done! Lol......you can never count out audiopipe!!
Nice amplifier but I think for about $50 more you can get the Pioneer GM-D8604 and it's the only 4-channel amp that I know of on the market that is 1 ohm stable (nice if you have a door full of speakers and want wiring options).
@Ryan Blankenship thanks for another good dyno video. Seems this is your first class a/b in quite awhile. Along that subject, did the fan kick on at all while the amp was on the dyno? If so, how loud was it?
Nice, but I find the fan confusing. If the fan is pulling air in or blowing air out, being at the bottom would be highly restrictive though I did notice the mounts do elevate it. But does it really only have vent holes for that air movement in the bottom plate? That just make for an air exchange short (because the fan would just recycle the air back into the amp) - which would explains why you noticed it getting awfully hot despite the fan. The controls being on the bottom don't bother me a huge amount because once it's setup properly they shouldn't need to be touched again. Just complicates installing it a bit more then other amps - minor annoyance. Not a bad option for that price tag though.
Hey Ryan. I have a question that you may be able to answer. I have an old orion cobalt 430. Idk if it works my buddy got it for a trade a while ago. It doesn't have the looks like the speaker adapter that plugs into the amp itself. Do you know where I could go to find something for this old amp
Hi. What u think about stock battery n alternator. 4awg wire wif 120a fuse. Am i good 2 go or need 2 upgrade? 2 old skol amps. Rockford F n MTX. bout 450rms @4ohm bridge each . Rockford f on 50a n mtx on 60a. Ill wrk 1 for single4ohm 12sub n d other as main amp runnin 2 4ohm each side dwn to 2ohm. N yes both amps produce more power @ 1ohm each ch or 2 ohm bridge
Mine came in today and the top crossover switch was broken and flopping around. The “QC” sticker wasn’t very far away from it. Hoping the second one is GTG
I wander about sound quality vs the dual xpr84d. Don't class a/b's typically have better sound quality than class d's? I still like my cheapo dual amp but wish I had known about this one first.
Hy I'm not that experience with audio part but I bought a suv that had an aftermarket system loved it but the amp went bad would this amp work for 6 audiopipe 500w 8inch speakers
Apmi series kills the apcl series other then not being able to.5ohm it with the apmi but shoot i live my apmi 2k i bought mines because of you honestly
Everything is fine... but the move from Chicago to ST Louis was to overwhelming to get more videos done... I just moved into my new house today so hopefully I can get the test bench back to life soon....
Ryan, I have a special request. Can you please dyno some of the new Blaupunkt amps? They're promising some big numbers for very little money. I just bought the AMP7502 on Amazon to power my mids and highs and it should arrive in a couple days. It is rated at RMS Power (4 Ohms): 160W x 2 and RMS Power (2 Ohms): 325W x 2. I only paid $49.80 from a third party Amazon seller. Amazon.com Prime is cheaper, but it's backordered.
I had it bridged at 4ohms on 2 6x9s The amp got so hot you couldn’t even touch it after about 10 minutes.. Plus my 8 gauge platinum adapter would not fit in the ground or the power inputs..
wow, surprised me. What is the highest impedance the dyno is capable of, if its possible to run its inputs in series? I think it would be neat to try a few amps in high impedance modes and even maybe give a few headphone amps a run for their money.
say i have a SO sound ordnance M-1500 and i burnt it out, can those be fixed i hooked it wrong red on black - black on red fried it right up I never even had the chance to hear it... have u eveer tested that amp.... and also i have a Lanzar MaxPro 2400watts have u ever tested that amp... but with that lanzar it goes into safe mode when we crank it up. the only way to get it out of safe mode is to keep turning the key on and off. any help would be great. but after those amps i went out and bought the 2500 watt from walmart for $69.00 it was decent, didnt get the bass sound i was looking for outside the SUV but inside it was good.
Eric Perry hey it’s been great to me so far I had a crossfire 800.4 that use to put a lil static in my interior speakers I put this in no problems at all and is just as loud I’m happy with it so far
It's so sucks that they put all of the fine-tuning under the amp. They do all this extra great work to get a great power output and then completely Boch on the rest of the package.
can you test some blaupunkt stuff? im looking at 1500 watts for less than 80 bucks. the AMP1504 4 chan and AMP1501 mono. curious how well they do on the budget ladder.
nubwithgun, I'm running the Blaupunkt AMP7502 on 4 Kicker 5 1/4"s (2 ohm stereo) and it is crystal clear with the high pass filter set at 125 Hz. I'm happy with it as a mids and highs amp, so it must be putting out clean power. It says 160 x 2 and 4 ohms stereo and 325 x 2 at 2 ohms stereo, but I think it is closer to 150 x 2 at 2 ohms stereo. The AMP7502 might put out 250 watts bridged, so I think the AMP1501 mono should give you 500 watts, maybe a little more. The prices on these are great and I wish Ryan would pick at least one of them for a Dyno test.
don't waste ur money, buy a better more powerful 1ohm stable amp and just run it at 2ohm or 4ohm at the power u need, much more efficient and have extra power on tap if needed
