A long shot but not sure if you guys reply to old videos, in the boot restoration one where you applied conditioning cream (3-4 years ago)... How often do you recommend to apply the this cream to a boot? Every month of wear or..?
@TrentonHeath
@TrentonHeath 10 месяцев назад
It completely depends upon how often the boots are worn. If you’re wearing them several times a week and/or they’re in harsh conditions, you could put some conditioner on them every couple of weeks. If you’re only wearing them every now and then, you could get by with conditioning them 2-3 times a year. Just apply whenever you think they need it (by the look and feel of the leather).

It's a luxury brand. Are any luxury brands worth it? When you buy a $100,000 car, do you get $100,000 worth of metal, leather, glass, plastic, fasteners, and rubber? Then you pay more for a luxury car mechanic. Are any shoes worth over $500, or worth a $200 resole?

I have never owned a pair of Gucci shoes, however, I do own 9 pairs of Allen Edmonds. Several of those have been with me for over 45 years. Most have been through the re-crating process at the factory in Port Washington, WI. The highest price I ever paid for a pair was $90 for a pair of the shark skin Nassau. The re craft cost for anything today is around $120.00.

Gucci has to have like a 90% profit margin on their crap (if it wasn’t for all their marketing, which I’m sure cuts into that a lot) They seem to take something that’s worth say… 300$? And then add 20$ worth of their branding, then sell it for 700$ Freaking ridiculous that people actually buy from these ultra high end brands Buying banana republic jeans vs Walmart jeans, you’ll see a difference, like a major difference, but going from banana republic to Gucci, there is no difference, except you pay 3x more for Gucci, and it ruins the jeans with a bunch of obnoxious G’s all over

I think a lot of us who buy these know they aren't technically worth the price point (especially after all the recent price increases, these were under 700 bucks just 2 years ago), but they're really a beautiful shoe and the uppers feel incredible, probably one of the few luxury designers actually making a quality shoe these days, and the shopping experience you get in a boutique is worth a few extra bucks as well I suppose.
