Thanks to watching these videos, my son (and now all his friends up at college) refer to plates, etc as "crockery". Thank you Nick for teaching us some proper English!

@darrenbell4262
@darrenbell4262 Год назад
@@philjohnwilliams Truthfully, it's not for everyone. If you expect a cruise ship type experience, it's nothing like that. Different boats and different crews mean no 2 experiences are the same. I went from South Korea to California (11 nights) on a 300m+ ship, with a gym and pool onboard, plus other great recreation facilities for the crew, and cracking food. But most of the time, you need to entertain yourself (lots of books/DVDs). I also went from Costa Rica to Spain, on a 180m ship, which was a lot more "raw", and beyond lots of vodka with an eastern european crew (and the worst hangover of my life), there was not so much to do. I would definitely do it again!
@philjohnwilliams

@darrenbell4262 I would do it specifically to avoid the cruise ship experience.

I'm honestly not the first one to say this I am absolutely amazed at how much space there is on this small boat. And like you said Nick, that's all things to the catamaran design. Love this boat. Not often every cabin gets its own full bathroom on a 45 ft boat.

I must admit that if I had that sort of money to spend, I would most certainly look at a Cat. I love the social area on this around the galley, just perfect to entertain whilst cooking up a feast. Not sure about the space around the engines though, it looks rather tight to work on them. Or is it an illusion of the camera angle? Great tour Nick.

The choice is pretty clear. Still too expensive for most people... but that boat, in about 10 years, will be something most average people could own in retirement if boating is very important to them. Bang for the buck? Catamarans are eating the lunches of normal boats. It's really great.

I learnt this summer in Palma and Croatia, yacht life on a 68foot isn't as glamorous as you'd think. Edit: I went with work with Norwegian collegues and the Danish Office with a mix of ages from 30-60yo and we had team exercises on the boats like quizes about Croatia and work related HR sessions. - Can't have collegies over even If your docked, can't play music (we had musix quiz at around 1930) even at low volume, some restrictions on alcohol (when we had dinner onboard) silent after 22:00CET. - ALOT of muppets on neighboring boats that were extremely annoying (heckling us or unneccerarely calling the dock manager on us) (German & Brittish from 20yo-60yo). But imagine If you are in your 30s and can't have one night of fun If It was a private rental! I mean It is understandable and all; considering how close the boats are docked, how different lives people live and the fact boats aren't sound proofed like a building. But this changed my mindset completely being jealous of 5+million yacht owners, because I know you can only enjoy It at sea or with family & kids... Sorry but If I'm close to owning a house for 5million, which I will be in 4 years turning 37, I'm buying a villa and can do whatever I want indoors & have garden parties 🙂 That said, might get a daycruiser one day...
